Christmas 2023: Maple & Blossom's 1st Christmas Tree
Last Christmas, before I started my UA-cam channel, I recorded a video of Maple and Blossom enjoying their 1st Christmas veggie tree. I had made them a little Christmas tree using cucumber slices as the trunk, cilantro as the greenery and red bell peppers as ornaments. Watching them nibble away on Christmas morning was such a sweet moment. I had Maple and Blossom for only 2 and a half months at the time!
Recently, I stumbled across the video again while organizing my files, and it brought back warm memories. Seeing young Maple and Blossom happily munching on their first Christmas tree made me realize how much joy doing little things like this for my piggies means.
I wanted to share it now, even though it was filmed before I started my channel. It’s a sweet reminder of how my love for guinea pigs inspired me to start creating and sharing content. I hope this little slice of Christmas cheer brings a smile to your face, just like it did for me.

Blossom's 1st Birthday!

Happy birthday to Blossom! A year ago today 6/29/23, Blossom was born at a rescue. Her mom and many others including Maple's mom were saved from a hoarding situation. I love the Christmas lights that you put on their cage. It makes the room look so festival. I've never done lights, but after seeing yours, I might try them this year. I have a Christmas stocking for each piggy that has their name on it. I always fill the stockings with different treats and toys. I know the piggies don't understand, but I like them to have a Christmas morning gift. Happy Holidays to you and your four beautiful girls.
I completely understand that!! 💖I love to include my fur babies in the holidays. This year I'll be giving the piggies wrapped gifts. I think I'll do stockings next year 🎄🎁

What you put under the hay?

TY for this video! I was thinking about ordering Small Pet Select instead of Oxbow and this gave me a perfect look at all 3 of the ones I was considering. I loved the side by side comparison along with reading the description.

Not my 5 years of hamster knowledge saying NO BAR CAGES I own guinea pigs and they have a CNC cage themselves I’m still adjusting since I got them Monday💀

I do like cnc. Rn the pugs are just babies so they smol but they will get bigger so we prob will add on to our 4x2 cage. More poop to clean. Yay.

I am not judging you but curious to know how you came up with deciding to do a 2x7 and not something like a 3x 7 i am asking because i am a new piggy mom and struggling with leaving my two girls in a 2x4 or doing a 3x5 i just find the toys that they have makes me feel like the never have enough room please help😢
I didn't have the coroplast available to make a 3x7 cage so I went with what I had and that was enough Coloplast base for a 2x7. I understand the feeling of thinking your piggies don't have enough space. I recently changed my pigs cage (stay tuned) and I feel the same way. Bigger is always better but there are limits to that, too. I know it's a lot of work to change their cage around but you could always experiment to find out what works best for you. I've changed my pigs cage SEVERAL times trying to find the best layout for me

hi what is the name of the cage?
Hello! I have my girls on the floor. there is no base of the cage. it is just one layer of bath towels, and two layers of fleece. then I just have 14in grids! Hope that helps!! I can post a video detailing this soon :)

Your girls are so gorgeous. I loved watching how they had to check out each new item as you placed them in their cage. It was like they were thinking is this edible, if not I'm moving on. You can see they are just so happy and really enjoy being with each other. Although, I did have to laugh when your one piggy got too close to the other one. She moved ever so slightly, but just enough to let her know she didn't appreciate her being so close. My girls are the same way. They'll stand side by side, but no touching allowed. Thanks for sharing this video with us. It was really fun to watch.
