@@jamesross1799 nice comments James 👍early days with u tube , I have had many a pike on when barbel fishing ,, a good hot spot for pike was on the Trent when the warm water came into the river from the cooling towers , yes we can do so much now via our phones etc I never had a camera in my younger days memories only ,

@martinhenchcliff4833 I've had pike while barbel fishing too on bloody big cubes of meet. A mate of mine actually had a barbel on a sprat on the River Calder whilst pike fishing one winter probably 15 years ago now or more. I lost a decent barbel once on the wharfe when a pike went for the swimfeeder as i was playing it. I was "rather annoyed " 😆 I enjoyed watching the 2 young lads with the gravel pit Carp brought back memories for me mate.

@ I might be putting some rig pictures on u tube , not sure how interested other fishermen might be , in the 90s I only used very simple rigs etc how times have moved on , with so many complicated and expensive rigs and leads etc , the most enjoyable for me in the 90s was making my own boilies , spent hours and hours making them , we decided to do a bit of pre baiting ,so we fired them out , to one of the hot spots it was a windy day , to cut a long story short they all floated , we found out ? too much shrimp meal was included in the mix 😂

@martinhenchcliff4833 I started fishing in the 80s as a kid . I caught my first pike 87 first barbel 93 and rigs didn't come into it really I think I used 6lb line straight through to a maggot feeder stopped by an ssg for that first Nidd barbel 4 and a half pound "what the hell is this??????" Instantly addicted to the species 😆
