You can make fun of his name, but Luigi Del Pupo was a dear friend of mine in Nelson, BC...I would play at concerts on his property near Nelson, out of police jurisdiction, back in the '70's. A wonderful human being, took care of us wayward guitar picker/singers. Some of the lyrics in "I Remember Loving You'' have hidden meanings, but I ain't tellin'.
Oh, thank you SOOOOOO much for taking the time to write us about your friendship with Luigi del Pupo. I'm pretty sure you can agree that it's a singularly grin-making name, but you are so right to help us see the bigger picture of his gifts to his friends and community. Wish we had known him. As for the hidden meanings, if you ever feel inclined to share what they are, in a tribute to his legacy, you can email us more discreetly at hanknclaire@gmail.com. Carrying on the tradition of REAL songs about REAL people, we'd love to know the backstory.
Thank you two for performing this for us. And excellent song, Hank.
Ahhh, such a gracious gift to us all - between Hank's lyrics and Claires weaving soltre - I can better rest tonight. Such a hard time...going on for far too long...
How wonderful to hear your voices!! Thanks for making me smile today 😎😎
Goodness, yes, we need this music! Thank you, Hank and Claire!
Happy New Year!🎆
good work I came across this and I thought good for them well done

He's an amazing talent
Lovely. Excellent use of the 2 bows for making smooth connections from one note to the next.
Hi Claire, the baritone and you both sound great! Thanks so much!
Hi Hank and Claire! Great tune, beautifully done. I'll share to my Facebook page.
OMG, you guys sound so good! I absolutely love your harmonies!
très très beau bravo belles voix je m abonne
Great!
Wonderful!!
That was fantastic!
Hilarious! And a lovely version. I had no idea this existed. Didn't even realized you two played it. WONDERFUL version! We're honored. Thanks!
Cool!
I really love your Bowed Psaltery playing Claire, nice singing from both of you! My cats say Hi to your cat.
Oh, this is great. Made me smile first thing this dark Michigan morning!
I love your bowing style. I wonder if I can incorporate that into my playing if I work on it. I've only played a bit more than a year and I'm trying to get more solid in my technique as I learn more songs. So much music out there!
I use nearly the whole bow when I play my tenor psaltery - the one here. When I play my baritone, I use a much smaller section near the middle of the bows. Each instrument should "tell" you how to get the best sound as you experiment with different techniques. Have fun!
Ben Rock's. Big time.
ben powell!! thank you.
Very nicely played. I love this tune.
wow, that was beautiful, and one of the reasons I just purchased a psaltery was to learn this song. I hope I can find the music!
H, Jeri. Glad you enjoyed it. I learned it by ear from listening to Jay Ungar and Molly Mason. And it's on my just-released CD "HOME AT LAST" (Hank Payne and Claire Favro) available on CDbaby.com If you really want to see the notes as you learn, I'm sure it's available as sheet music - it's become a favorite wedding piece. I got my psaltery just less than 4 years ago and it has been a delight to add to the musical mix. Hope you enjoy yours!
Lovely! If you are a fan of the bowed psaltery join us on the all bowed psaltery network, Psaltery Strings. You can find us at psalterystrings.com
A really good song, very well done. Where can I see these people? Brian K. Sidney, BC
