Thank you for your excellent presentation. Please let us know by when the work will be over. It was a 4 month project but today it will be 1 year since the trains were stopped between Chennai Beach and Chintadripet. Passengers are suffering a lot. Can the trains start running upto Park Town Station at least. It would be a big relief for the passengers.

One important observation i make is there is hardly any activity of Men and material ,and the site looks deserted,in various videos of this line that has been posted.At this rate it wont be a surprise if the first train on the 4th track runs only in 2026.That is a good 16 months away from now.Hope the DRM and GM of Southern Railway make a note of this and expedite execution of this small stretch.In China this would have been finished in 3 months.

It is nearly going to be a year since MRTS Services were stopped between Chintradripet and Chennai Beach . Progress of work is very slow. Railways should have sorted out all the land issues with RBI AND NAVAL Authorities before commencement of this work. Top priority should be given for restoration of services between Chintadripet to Chennai Beach. All your other subscribers have given excellent comments in this regard. fROM 3RD WEEK OF October North East Monsoon also will start so before that all this work should get completed. You have given an excellent update in this regard. Train Acceleration sound is super. All the best for your efforts. Take care.

MRTS is a cursed project that has been a inordinate delayed projectm

MRTS Lineஐ பறக்கும் ரயில் தடமாகவே இருக்கும் பாதை மீதே Beach end overbridge வரை கொண்டு போயிருந்தால் என்றோ வேலையும் முடிந்திருக்கும் இடமே தர சம்மதிக்காத RBIயோடு மோத வேண்டிய அவசியமும் இல்லை. MRTS மேல் மெட்ரோ தடம் போடுவது போன்று அகல ரயில்பாதை மீது MRTS ஓடும். மெட்ரோ போடுவதற்கு ஆகும் செலவை விட குறைவாகத்தான் இந்த இரு கிலோமீட்டர் பறக்கும் தடம் செலவு இருக்கும். ஆனால் அகண்ட சிந்தனை இல்லாத ரயில் நிர்வாகம்.

Thanks for your updates on this work progress. Anyhow MRTS should have Double Tracks for the entire stretch. Besides this Velachery to St.Thomas Mount MRTS stretch should be given high priority for completion. Chennai Commuters can't wait anymore.

MRTS was stopped on 28 th Aug last year. Progress after 1 year is very poor. Poor planning and execution for a 4 km stretch. And SR wanted us to believe that the stoppage is only for 3 months.

Earliest likely date for MRTS to go live will be 2025 Tamil New Years Day. And that will need a miracle. Not sure why Southern Railway keeps mis informing that it will be ready by Oct 24. Absolutely no chance for that...

for electrical connection I think major work - both over head poles and side poles are there . and also they may stop Local trains service during energizing and signal post re erection . need to see what will be done in coming months

Very excellent update you have given. As per revised schedule Railways had said that this project likely to be completed by the end of Aug 2024. From Fort Station to Beach Station Ballast has not been laid after which only Track laying work will start. Only Fort MRTS Station is complete. Realignment of Existing track and New track to be laid is to done at Park Station. Railways have to give priority to restore MRTS SERVICES from Chintradripet to Chennai Beach. It is better to provide turn back facilities at MRTS Fort station also. All the best to Southern Railways for speedy completion of this challenging project. Fully enjoyed this Digital travel with you.
