      @HayChaffandSawdust1 Rain...I couldn't tell if the track was greasy or tacky. It was both. It spun taking off, then straight to the wheelie bars, lifting the back tires out of the dirt and the front would drop. After the second time I knew I was in trouble. Ya that last time it came down it bent everything, weights fell off. And left the track on the business end of a loader.

    From the scoreboard, it looks like a timed-event plus normal tractor pulling measure of distance? Are both considered or averaged with a multiplier-of-sorts to determine a winner? ... can a 1-foot shorter pull beat a longer pull by being faster?

    • @TheJohnDeereGuy
      @TheJohnDeereGuy 5 місяців тому

      The top number is was my mile per hour. The other one is distance. The farm tractor class is 10 mph. That's the class the 4020 is in. It's fun to see how fast we can go. Usually more speed equals more distance. But not always. Thanks for watching.

    • @HayChaffandSawdust1
      @HayChaffandSawdust1 5 місяців тому

      @@TheJohnDeereGuy Ok, so the speed is just for personal satisfaction and/or braggin' rights, but has no effect on who wins and loses? I understand. On these newer drag-race sleds (especially) the speed can help a foot or two; and, in a game of inches, that really matters. I actually prefer the old sleds what spread-out the winners and loser farther, but I understand the need for the newer style of sled technology. Thanks!

    • @TheJohnDeereGuy
      @TheJohnDeereGuy 6 місяців тому

      I run in the open tractor class. That means I might run against super farm, super stocks, modified. It weighs 10000lbs with me on it. That track was a good one for my tractor, kinda sandy and gravely. I still have the governor in my pump. We're having fun. Thanks for watching.

    Very nice sounding tractor; nice crowd in the stands too!!! Sure ain't knocking the tractors what STILL look like a tractor, but they don't draw a good crowd around here; if it don't have a 1/2 dozen engines hanging all over it or doesn't have 9 turbos with 75mph wheel speed, not many people watching. Thanks for watching and commenting. Yes Deere parts are pretty tough. When I built this tractor in 2017, I was told by a veteran puller "It's not if it breaks, it's when it breaks. So I guess he was right. It took 7 years to break it. Pretty good run.

    They overbuilt most tractors of that era (and before) to withstand way more Hp, Heat, Abuse...everything than that which they were intended/sold. ... it takes quite a bit of Pony Powers to overcome their overbuilding!! When you push the limits (like you are), it's a constant learning of new weakest-link
