Ahh seeing this in my subscription box made me so happy! Loooove your reading taste - Monsters and Rachel Incident are fab I wanna read a few of these!
oh thank you <3
Monstrilio and Motherhood = the perfect double feature!
glad to see you back! i recommend pure color as your next sheila heti
done 🫡
The Rachel Incident was also one of my favorites of 2024!! And I hope to pick up Same As It Ever Was this year!! I love Claire Lombardo!
I just watched your favourites video and saw that you also mentioned The Rachel Incident, yay! I reeeally think you'd like Same As It Ever Was if you liked her previous book :)
I too thought of reading a lot of books in the beginning of year 2024, buttttttttt I could not get the time to read the single😅
Hi miss, When we are getting your next video......😊
Managed to get Stoner yesterday from a charity shop for 70p which is highly recommended. It goes on the list of future reads. Best wishes with your reading choices.
Nothing better than a good charity shop find!
It's so exciting to see someone talk about One's Company, it's criminally underrated!
Right? Completely agree!
@@chelseascurrentread miss, this isn't fair. I had made the comment way before this comment.... but It doesn't have your ❤ on it 🥲........
Randomly found your video and, just Loved to hear you.😁
Since, you have given me your ❤(on my comment),then.......... can I think that you are In love with me.....😂
Being able to read Netgalley books on the kindle was such a game changer for me too! I used to read them on my phone on the way in to work and now that I have a kindle I don't know how I used to do that
Right? I used to read them on my iPad, so big and inconvenient 🫠
I read One's company a couple of years ago now and loved it! It was so strange I don't think I've ever read anything like it before! I just added Bright Young Women to my tbr it seems like a good take on a true crime novel
Yay! Even though BYW is a popular book I'd love for more people to read it. I actually just watched your favourite books of 2023 and we seem to have a similar reading taste, so maybe you'll like it too :)
Woah we have a really similar reading taste and i loved your video!!
Yay, love to hear that! Thanks :)
This is such a cozy and chill video. I can't wait to watch more of your videos! Also, i'm surprised that you friend hated My Brilliant Friend. My sister loved it and apparently there's so many twists and turns, the ending is very shocking too, so i can't wait to read it!
I am also very surprised by that haha but we do tend to have very opposing taste in books! But thanks for the nice feedback :)
Loved Writers and lovers, either or and Death Valley! Happy new year! Siân
Ahh yay! Happy new year to you, too :)
so glad I found your channel! We seem to have v similar taste. You've inspired me to pick up One's Company, it sounds fascinating.
That's so sweet, thanks! Omg yes, i would love for more people to read it. I really hope you like it :)
How can someone be so beautiful yet very intelligent. 📖
Great video✨
Writers and Lovers is one of the books that reminded me why I read. Absolutely loved it and Lily King has become an auto buy author.
yes you're so right! i still think about her gentle writing
I cant stop thinking about the name 10 books meme. But my favorite one of the year has to be flowers for algernon
hahahah omg you're so right! that book has been on my tbr for a whileee, glad to hear it was your favourite :)
YAAAY SEEING THE FRIEND MADE YOUR LIST TOO!! but also i agree, fav videos are the best. i love hearing everyone’s picks & now ive added so many to my tbr after watching your list! i can’t believe i still haven’t started my brilliant friend. hopefully in 2024 🤞
omg i didn't know you read it, too! so lovely, right? yess, i would definitely pick up my brilliant friend - honestly the perfect summer read!
Great video, as always ❤️
<3
I'm happy my Elena Ferrante found a new caring home <3 I will definitely have to check out "The Friend".
I feel like you would love <3
such a lovely vlog as always <3 i love our "bright young women" fanclub!
bright young women ultras <3
Chelsea!! So happy to see you in my subscription feed :) I love your vlogs so much!
ahh thanks! that's so nice of you to say x
ah chelsea!! was so excited to see your vid pop up on my feed!! how fun that you’re going to japan & australia in a couple of months. it was lovely to see what you’re reading & what you got up to during xmas!
thank youuu kat <3
First of all, good for your for starting this channel. Courage is always a good thing. Can you separate the videos somehow so that the titles show up on the bottom? I'm asking b/c for example, I may just be interested in one review; not all of them (I was looking for Paul, the bookstore made a mistake and I've been waiting for it for 3 weeks now instead of the usual 7 days). Also, if something is not revealed in the beginning of the book (beak- up???) please, no spoilers. The writer obviously kept it a surprise for a reason. Thanks for reviewing. Much appreciated! Please review Sweetbitter by S. Danler and Is Mother Dead? The Booker Prize finalist. Also, did you ever do a review once you finished Paul? I couldn't find the rest of your review. Thank you!
Some heavy themes in your Feb reads!! One's Company sounds great, what a fun concept I'm going to check it out! I really loved Girl, Woman, Other by Bernardine Evaristo and Bad Cree by Jessica Johns recently, I recommend both!!
I've been so intrigued by Bad Cree! Now that you said it's good i put it on my tbr 😎
Loved this vlog as always!! I have to read the Idiot, I re-requested now bc of your excitement and enjoyment about Either Or
I reeeally hope you like it! One of my friends recently read it and found it to be very boring but I feel like you also enjoy no plot just vibes books? Either way, the writing to me is chefs kiss
yaay for a good reading month! and for one’s company i am soooo intrigued by!! i’ve only heard you and monika at dog eared musings talk about it and it sounds so interesting!
Ok so obviously I don't really know your reading taste but from what I've seen I feel like you could enjoy it!!
One’s Company sounds like such an interesting premise, adding it to my TBR list!
It was so unique! Hope you love it :)
I read my first Ferrante in Feb and enjoyed! Also read my first Moshfegh (Eileen) and…eww ahah
I actually started Eileen a couple years ago and dnd'd it, did you enjoy it?
Ooo I’ve seen the cover of One’s Company around but hadn’t heard anything about it! Def intrigued now!
If it sounds up your street you should pick it up!! I really enjoyed it
Haven’t read the Idiot yet, but this vlog made me add it to my TBR. Also echoing Kat-I wish I had your barista skills, that first drink with the foam looked immaculate!
i'm a bit apprehensive to recommend the idiot after one of my friends found it really boring haha but it's probably my favourite book, if you can enjoy a book without much plot, you should try it! omg thanks, i actually proud of that coffee haha
You have such good energy! Loved hearing your thoughts on both books.
that is so sweet, thank you!
i really agree with you that specificity helps with reliability! I love it when a story is full of those kind of unique details. loved ur thoughts on either or
not me saying 'specificness' and having to google if it's even a word haha but glad we're on the same page
watching you make your coffee was so freaking cozy!!!
the strand mugs are so cute and majorly regret not buying one last time i was there 😭
the way you talk about selin makes me wanna give the idiot a try!!!
LOL so funny you almost forgot about the guest 😂
i'm so glad!! i did think 'are people gonna find this super boring??' but i also find it so cosy and therapeutic
@@litwithkat omg don't i was so ready to wrap up the video hahaha no shade to Miss Cline
I hope I'm right and you will enjoy "Just Kids" <3 Also, SHEILA HETI!!!!!!!!!
I've got a feeling it's gonna be my vibe
Animal spokeswoman here lol. I will def be reading "I love you but I've chosen darkness".
I think you could love!!
idk why i’ve hesitated to read the idiot but maybe this will be the year!
One of my friends just read it because of my recommendation and hated it haha hope that doesn’t happen to you!
ooooh trust is one that intimidates me so i’m so curious to keep watching and hear what you end up thinking of it!!
really loved how you talked about trust! i feel like some of the stuff in that book might go over my head too but def curious to pick it up!!
the candy house is one i’ve never heard of but i really wanna check it out now
i am dying at “what in the john green YA hell is this” 😂
tomorrow x3 i keep putting off but i’m hoping to get to it this year!! really enjoyed hearing your thoughts on all 3 of these books!
@@litwithkat it really is an objectively good book! just make sure you know as little as possible beforehand :)
take me to that bookshop tho 🤩
an actual dream!!
Omg two videos in one week, this is such a highlight in my sub inbox! 🤩
stop it! that’s so sweet
Omg I didn’t know naoise dolan had a new book coming out, will have to break my book buying ban for that one😅 exciting times is one of my top 5 of all time❤
right?? i was so excited when i found out!!
Thanx for sharing. There are a lot of boos on this list that i have not heard of before but definitely will look into now.
i love that! happy reading :)
i had no idea melissa broder had a podcast! i’ll have to check that out!!
ah!! i’m currently reading writers & lovers. so far really enjoying it. this was also one that i really wanted to get to this year!
@@litwithkat you have to check it out!! it's a bit like sitting in on one of her therapy sessions? it's called eating alone in my car! also so many people in the past few days have told me to read writers & lovers, i'm excited!
Liked this list! I’m also really excited for the new Broder and Tear :)
yess, i've not heard anyone else talk about Tear! but soo looking forward to get to it! and don't even get me started on new melissa broder omg
Hunger was such a life changing Book agh
That’s exactly the vibe I got from it! I’m so eager to get to it now
Oh if you like Sally Rooney's intimate writing, you'll love Writers and Lovers.
That’s so exciting! Can’t wait to read - especially because of the writing style!
i need to read book lovers!!!
yess! it’s so wholesome :)
That's it, I'm inviting myself over for coffee! Have you watched the Into the Wild film? It was my whole personality when I was 17 lol
anytime <3 i've never actually seen it but i think i will soon!
