Thanks for showing each item. Lots of things to enjoy. Happy New Year from Oregon USA.
Thanks for your greeting from Oregon ! I visited Portland about 10 years ago :)
I don't mind slurping noises and I'm glad you won't have to got through the trouble of muting them anymore but I'll miss the "on mute while slurping message". I find it very endearing 😅
Glad to hear you don't mind slurping noises :) There are some old videos coming where I've muted them but I won't mute them any more in new videos I'll be filming :)
I was surprised when you started speaking English 😂

ahh Gusto's nearby!
Happy New Years!! Thank you for taking the time to show us the bento boxes during the celebrations! Surprised to hear the festive musical arrangement for this episode, but it definitely fit the vibe! We don't really have any new years traditions like this, but we usually just have a family dinner, and those who are of faith go to church before noon... I suppose gathering as a family for the new year is kind of a traditon though? Happy to see you enjoyed most of the box and the manju! I wish you many delicious meals for this upcoming year!
We hope you had nice holidays ! And we're also glad you think the music we chose fits the video :) We were just wondering but do you think it's better to add music to our future videos ? Some people find it noisy/annoying and others like it. As long as it is Japanese theme music, most people would like it ? Please let us know what you think :)
Happy New Year!!! Always looking forward to your videos 😸
Happy New Year to you too !! Thank you for always watching our videos :)
Happy new year 🎆, amazing bento 🎉
Thanks ! We wish you a happy new year, too :)
Happy New Year to you and your family
Thank you ! We wish you a happy new year, too :)
Great video! I loved the aerial shot of Tokyo after takeoff. I was back in Tokyo in November. Enjoyed the stay.
Glad you liked the arial shot of Tokyo ! Also glad to hear you enjoyed the stay in Tokyo. Please come back while your currency is still strong :)
There was a Ringer-Hut in San Jose, California in the 1990s and I had a chance to eat champon there. I can't forget the delicious taste. 1990年代にカリフォルニア州サンノゼにリンガーハットがあり、そこでちゃんぽんを食べる機会がありました。あのおいしさは忘れられません。
I didn't know the Ringer-Hut was in San Jose. I suppose it's gone now ? I wish it was still there since I might visit San Jose later this year. I'd end up focusing on eating local food though. コメントありがとうございます :)
It's nice to learn about a new conveyer belt sushi restaurant! And it's even cheaper than the others I knew about! 😮 I hope I can find one near where I'm staying. Thanks for another good video
KAPPA conveyor belt sushi has recently opened in Akihabara and Ikebukuro in Tokyo, so hope you get a chance to visit one of them :)
Ah priority pass... You will be missed... The all-you-can-drink wine offer with the second meal is definitely interesting! I feel like me and my sister would be able to drink a lot; although getting mildly wine drunk before you go on a plane might not be the best idea, the turbulence would defeat us^^u The bite-sized cakes are always so cute; you won't feel like you've had too much sugar if you have just a bite! Hope you've had a pleasant and safe trip! Happy upcoming New Years!
Yes, I was almost drunk after 3 or 4 glasses of wine but I got to the airport very early so I was able to rest at a lounge for about 2 hours before my flight. Hope you two had nice holidays :)
Hi bro, is chikarameshi still available in Tokyo?
According to my quick search, it seems all Chikarameshi stores are now gone in Tokyo and their last store is remaining near Namba Station in Osaka. Hopefully I revisit Osaka before it closes !
Najbardziej podobają mi się samopodgrzewające się pudełka
↑ The above comment in English is "I like the self-heating boxes the most." We also heard others say they are interested in self-heating bento boxes so we have to try some in our next Shinkansen trip :)
This Ramen made me scream
Free 🤤
I didn't expect the broth to turn green too! I suppose the "green curry" is something I still had to discover! I was surprised at the sticker (?) inside, when you opened the lid! I suppose if it was a special edition, they had to do something to make it special for the Luigi fans that buy it for him (and I'm not surprised they do! I always liked Luigi a bit more than Mario, haha). I never really minded if there was slurping or not, but I'm glad you don't have to go out of your way to mute it now!! Thank you for the video!
I heard some people buy these instant noodles just for the purpose of collecting stickers lol Ramen in green curry soup was better than I expected but I somehow felt I was eating noodles from South East Asia.
@@IchibanYummyJapan Buying the ramen just for the sticker.... I suppose that at least they are stocking up on food that doesn't perish fast just in case haha But to be honest, if there was a special version with a character I like, I might be doing that as well!
Very nice, my friend! I really like your videos. 😍😍😍 I’ve subscribed. 👍🏻
Thank you for your subscription :)
Yes slurping are coming back 🎉🎉🎉
I'm a bit surprised and also glad to get a positive comment about my slurping ! More slurping is to come later :)
The restaurant was very quiet! Surprising for such a popular tourist area; but I suppose that it wasn't peak hours/happy hours yet! All the fish looked very fresh and juicy, so delicious! I'm glad the ginger was free haha :) I want to tell you that we started putting wasabi under the fish on nigiri sushi after watching your videos for a while - beforehand we always put it on top because we didn't want to disturb how nicely the fish was placed on top (it always made us feel the wasabi blast first, but we just thought that's how it was supposed to be haha), so we learned something, thank you very much! Dotonbori is very pretty as always; and I think that it might be even prettier at night, especially with all the lights being visible from the ferris wheel. Thank you for the video! I know it's a bit early but Happy Holidays! I wish you plentiful rest and tasty food!
Yes I think I got there right after it opened at 11 AM ? I almost forgot I was at one of the busiest areas in Japan ! Glad to hear you are imitating how I eat sushi :) Also thank you for always leaving nice comments and wish you happy holidays, too :)
290JPY is 1,72€ currently, where I live in europe that wont even get you a small cup of coffee, let alone a combo meal. Very good.
Yes, especially since Japanese Yen has been weak, we're now realizing things here are very reasonable compared with North America/Europe.
Fresh cabbage is the best! We grow a lot of it next to our house because we have a good soil, and we end up pickling kilograms of it during fall. I always sneak out some freshly chopped cabbage to snack on while writing, sometimes with a little salt! Its so fresh and juicy! As for the ramen itself, spicy miso sounds like such a cool combination! I wish i was a little less sensitive to spice; there's a whole world of flavor that I have not yet discovered! My sister loves spice, so she would probably be eating it without complaint, the whole spicy oil packet and all hahaha The tofu looks incredible considering its rehydrated by the water/broth!! So tasty! Thank you for the video!
I'm jealous you get to eat fresh cabbage ! Cabbage is one of my favorite vegetables. The cabbage in this instant ramen was pretty good considering it's rehydrated :)
Dotonbori!! Mine and my sister's dream destination in Japan; we've seen it in so many Ryu ga Gotoku games, and we wonder if it's an 1:1 replica. I really liked the little game at KURA! I feel like I would not be able to stop myself once I started trying, though: the gambler's spirit, sushi edition! The aged tuna with salt sounds so good! Salty or marinated fish with rice is usually a great combination, but I think a specially curated combo like this looks even more delicious! Thank you for the video, and showing us around Dotonbori!
Yes, walking around Dotonbori is almost like walking inside a theme park like Disneyland :) If you pay extra at the start of the meal, you're offered a higher chance of winning but I thought it's a waste of money...
@@IchibanYummyJapan haha, maybe if the reward was worth more than the meal i would have tried! but if it's a little toy it might not be worth it ^^u
that piece of tofu was so big! and the colorful rice makes the meal look more elegant (and probably more flavorful!) I feel like even if it is a little more expensive than the usual bento from a convenience store, it's definitely worth it for the extra vitamins and nutritional value. other than that, we really thought the taro was an egg... i suppose we got betrayed by the dark spot on it haha (that fried rice also looked so good! it's my sister's favorite meal, so now i'll have to make at home since she worked up an apetite for it haha) thank you for the video!
Yes, multi-grain rice makes the whole bento more elegant ! If fried rice (chahan) is your sister's favorite, I'll have to go try it somewhere soon :)
@@IchibanYummyJapan My sister would be delighted to see a chahan video haha! It's such a tasty winter meal...
I'm thinking about going to have chahan either at Gyoza Ohsho or Ramen Hidakaya :)
Language selection: English "Would you like to play a game?". No! I would like to eat little robot.
kimchi ramen! that's my sister's favorite flavor, even if she complains that her lips are tingling for hours afterwards haha the ramen place we sometimes go to doesn't offer the specific miso kimchi ramen, but i suppose the miso does have to be in the broth somewhere, just not properly put on the menu card. This made me crave ramen,,, maybe we should go next time I visit my sister! As per wireless keyboards; i remember looking for mine for days around stores, before i finally gave up and decided to build my own from parts haha Thank you for the video!
I understand how your sister could be addictive to the spicy flavor :) It's amazing you built your own keyboard !
Yummy....arigato for sharing!
Thank you for trying the raw egg even though you knew you wouldn't like it. 🙏 What is the vegetable next to your rice? Some kind of pickle?
I might be wrong but they should be pickled eggplants :)
a two-part video! thank you very much! 3600 yen is definitely expensive (oh, the joy of airport prices)... but there's a saying in Poland that goes something like "to get something for free is to get something for a reasonable price" haha. Priority pass sounds so handy! Especially with all the collaborations... The okonomiyaki looked really tasty, and the noodles inside were a nice surprise! We had a little laugh about the dorayaki being packaged and just placed on a plate, but i guess it's easier to eat it later if you're in a hurry, rather than having to carry around an unwrapped one... thank you for the video! hope you had a safe travel!
My Priority Pass won't let me have free meals at these restaurants after January, so I won't probably visit these restaurants any more... (unless I switch to a new Priority Pass).
How fun! I want to try to sleep in a capsule hotel, too!
Yes, it was fun sleeping here for a few hours, but I wouldn't stay here for over 2 nights...
Despite being space efficient, capsule hotels feel so inhumane and dystopic
Yes, some people do avoid capsule hotels because they feel uncomfortable sleeping in very small space.
Thank you for this video, very helpful
This looks amazing! It's super helpful to see how the ordering system works as I have very limited Japanese for our upcoming trip. Have you been to Roast Beef Ohno (ローストビーフ大野)?
I've heard their roast beef bowl at Roast Beef Ohno is pretty good but I haven't been there yet. I thought about going there before but unfortunately I'm not a big fan of raw eggs. I can just have it with raw egg held though. Do you eat raw eggs where you are ?
Nice! Staying in otsuka next week, might have to check this place out! 😆
Otsuka is right next to Ikebukuro so please enjoy a lot of food there :)
Meat sushi... it's like a 1 bite don! It sounds like a really good lunch idea when you need some extra energy for the day. The price is also affordable! I'm surprised it's not more popular. (Also happy to see free ginger!!! Best sushi side, no doubt) I hope you had a good day shopping afterwards! The shirt looks really nice :) Thank you for the video!
I like that you call it a 1 bite don :) I think a conveyor belt sushi restaurant "KURA" has more meat sushi options so I'm thinking of going there to try their meat dishes later :)
🍣
The tuna always looks soooo good on sushi! It's so hard to get good tuna here, so I've never actually had it raw, just smoked in fancier restaurants, but it looks so nice and delicious over there... I find the seating area in the store very convenient, especially for people like office workers who pop out to get a bite to eat before returning to work, or people travelling or sightseeing; wish we had more areas like this here in poland! A local chain store recently launched "restaurant seating" versions of their stores that are in like maybe two cities so far, but from what i've seen not many people use it -- i guess it's a culture thing. Oh, and I'm happy that you got to have more wasabi! One packet was definitely not enough for such a generous portion lol Thank you for the video!
Yes, I also find the seating area at grocery stores very convenient ! I would say 95% of stores in Tokyo don't offer the seating area inside so I hope more stores will be introducing it :) FamilyMart recently has announced that they would eventually get rid of the seating area from all stores, which is sad news ;(
That looks so gooddd
who doesn't like squid tentables.
I somehow assumed a lot of people (especially in the western countries) don't like squid tentables, but I guess not :)
Want some sushi with your pickled raddish?
Razin Ninja 🇲🇾 🍣 🇯🇵
Looks so good! I want some!
Thanks for your guidance
"I'm realizing a single man in his 40's doesn't belong here." Especially with a video camera lol!
Absolutely ! But I'll continue going places where I won't belong LOL
Got enough ginger did you? Lol!
Yes maybe too much LOL
oh that broth looks so tasty! i know drinking all of it is bad for me because of the salt but its always so good... Tamachi seems like a bit of a quieter part of Tokyo compared to other places you've shown us, maybe because of the time of day, (so elegant, though! Reminds me of the city where my university main building is), but the food is equally as tasty it seems! I don't think I ever mentioned it, but i'm glad most restaurants in Japan (or at least in more popular cities) have an English option on their ordering screen. While I do actively study Japanese, it's good to know there's something to fall back on in case i blank out on vocabulary haha thank you for the video!! it's getting quite cold here on this side of the world so I hope you're keeping warm and healthy too!
Yes, more and more restaurants let you order in English on a tablet. Surprisingly when I visited YOSHINOYA (beef bowl restaurant) in Shinjuku a few years ago, they didn't have English available on their tablet menu but hope English is added by now. Yes it's getting a bit colder in Tokyo too and time has come to eat warm and hot ramen :) Hope you stay warm and healthy too !
Congratulations for reaching 1000 subscribers! I think it was around 500 or so when I started to follow the channel.
Thank you ! I haven't forgotten your request for Nemuro Hanamaru converyor belt sushi at KITTE building ! I still have a few more procedures to go though before monetization is finally approved and they're taking longer than expected so please be patient :)
