"Don't destroy what you came to enjoy"
Coastwatch was established in 1989 and is a coastal leisure and lifestyle entertainment and information provider. From 1989 until 2005 Coastwatch reports were seen in 7 News throughout Qld. Between 1994 and 1999, almost 300 half hour Brownie's Coastwatch shows were seen at 5.30pm Saturday.
In more recent times Coastwatch became a fantastic resource for coastal weather information via the Coastwatch website. In 2021 Brownie retired and handed the reigns to David Granville. David is playing to his strengths in boating and fishing content creation and UA-cam will form an integral part of delivering that content. As the brand rebuilds the plan is to reintroduce expert weather information as well as seafood cooking.
In the meantime the Coastwatch Vault has some priceless videos and although shot some time ago they are packed with information and wisdom ... and wisdom doesn't date.
All of the Vault videos are now available on the Coastwatch website.

Pannawonica X Moreton Bay Classic
Переглядів 2 тис.Місяць тому
Of all the mighty and famed Australian gameboats, Pannawonica arguably sits atop the list. Commissioned by Olympic swimmer and West Australian business figure, Sir Garrick Agnew; built by David Pleysier and designed by Raymond Hunt, people were left gob-smacked when she first cruised into Cairns for her first gamefishing season in the 1970s. With her unique, 24 degree deadrise, super deep-vee h...

It’s very compact, great to take out in the boat with you or put it in your pocket for land based fishing. It’s a two-stage knife sharpener, the first section is the coarse for stripping back the shoulders of the knife, and then the fine side. Once you've got the edge on ...

It’s a no brainer for k...

Wetzstahl Sharpening Steel | Coastwatch Product of the Week
Переглядів 884 місяці тому
Coast Watch Product of the Week is Wetzstahl Sharpening Steel. This is German made and it’s typical German made, high quality. It’s a knife steel. I love knives, using them for filleting fish and there's nothing I like more than sharp knives. You've got different things you can sharpen your knives with, a stone and your steel. This one is an industrially diamond coated steel. So, technically, i...
Tonic Sunglasses | Coastwatch Product of the Week

Our Product of the week is Tonic Sunglasses. Something that's a favourite of mine They come in a myriad to shapes and sizes. While they do look good and fashion has a lot to do with that, they're also designed specifically to fit different shaped heads. So you've got to get a pair of glasses that will wrap around and where they're not touching so they don't frost up or fog up the glasses. The T...

Coucam Crab Pot | Coastwatch Product of the Week
Переглядів 1274 місяці тому
The Coastwatch product of the week, we've got an Aussie made crab pot made up there in Rockhampton - Coucum’s Crab Pots. They’re beautifully made, typical Aussie quality about them. What I particularly like about them is their compact size, you'd imagine getting these in a small tinny. The last thing you need is massive big round pots. There's a few key features on these that make them stand ou...

What a legacy for all of his family. It’s easy to see just who Peter looks like, too.
A great video and great memories. Thankyou.
Thanks very much Paul. A maker of great memories.
A wonderful tribute to a great man. Well done
Thank you Myles -- he was.
What a great video thanks very much
@@richardkaye2228 Thank you Richard
Hey Guys this vids 3 years ago so u might not remember but did the Curados drag be enough for the fish say if u were running 40lb line and 60ish lb leader would that do any better?
Fantastic boat. Great to see her so well loved and still going strong. Thank you
Thanks Simon, she is very well loved.
425 is noisy 😏
I literally live opposite this boat and go for a look and stare at it once a week , it truly is a piece of art.
Should have created a new hull from scratch, I think you guys have missed the mark on this one.
Hey guys. I'll grab one of these to keep the edge on my lettuce and Wombok knives. And a no braina , the filleting knives. 👍
Great stuff. You can also scoop the remaining flesh off the frame with a spoon, and mash that together with some chives, soy, onions etc to make fantastic fish cakes.
Why are there NO rough water videos of this boat?
What are your thoughts on the Sportsman 17 compared to your previous Bonito 560?
The C- Sucker mounts are upside down.
Geoff and Sue Horne were representatives for Trade A Boat, Trailer Boat, and Bluewater for over 20 years, having attended the inaugural Sanctuary Cove Boat Show in 1990. Twenty-six years ago, they moved to Sanctuary Cove, where they opened an office in the village and successfully convinced the Packer Empire to sponsor the boat show annually. Geoff first crossed paths with Mike Gore in the 1980’s when Mike owned a Datsun dealership in Southport, later bringing in Cheoy Lee boats and Geoff “Trader” Horne then convinced Mike to advertise these boats in Trade A Boat magazine.
Hi Sue, thanks for that great history. If possible we would like to discuss a bit further with you. If you would like to send us an email to info@coastwatch.com.au , that would be great.
Yeah I guess when you have a boat you can use 1/4 once max.... Landbased, we need to cast
There so hard to catch, been trying unsuccessfully for 25yrs now
All this channel does is try and sell Shit
Thanks for your input @richardkaye2228. The Coastwatch Store is currently selling 5 products total: hats (2), shirts (shortly) the beacon to beacon, and this product -- which is proven and world class. We are proud to be selling it. We have not received one dollar in advertorial content since re-launching Coastwatch 10 months ago. We will expand the store, and we will add advertising in due course to fund the content we wish to produce, and the free services we provide that come with some cost. We see benefit in profiling quality product with specification and that will be a part of the Coastwatch website going forward.
Sooooo refreshing to hear ball park pr8ce figures. This lady does an awesome job and can speak competently and confidently on the boats. Total respect.
Thanks Vaughan, Josie was great.
I've got the blue mirror in the Trakker. As a farmer and fishing nut, I love my change to TONIC. 👍😎
Well! What a fabulous review of the range. The 255 Formula was an absolute show stopper at SCIBS and performed insanely at our on-water day. Australian trailer boat manufacturing haS hit another level with this boat. Modern icon beast.
What a beautiful boat
Well done Jose…you’ve also come a long way..excellent presentation ❤
Can't wait to get man next month
Great video mate. Thank you
Keep up the good work, guys. Love the new technology to fishing. 👍
Whilst being excited about the possibilities of hybrid boats, I am, at the same time, terrified of the idea of going to sea in a big lump of plastic carrying a load of material which may at any time go into thermal runaway and ignite a terrific and unquenchable fire. The boat is not going to last or float for very long in such a case: minutes, maybe.
i could listen to her talk boats,, all day

Brilliant guys, very enjoyable to see so many classic boats enjoying the bay.
Good to see some cooking segments on your website
Looks amazing guys. Keep up the great work. 👌🍻
Good work Granny. 🍻
Craig is an excellent and highly professional shipwright and Lighthouse Shipwrights are renowned for fantastic refits of classic timber motor cruisers
Couldn't agree more!
It sure is a misery lake, worst fishing spot in the world, even worse than the Fitzroy River @ Rockhampton. Pure shitshow.
Great filming, thanks for posting it. Nothing on the mainstream news
Most annoying music ever!
👍👍😊pesca i solta..adorei👍
What happened to part 3? This was fascinating.
Captain kev here stoked to watch this
Such a terrible break. Lived here for about a decade. One of the weakest waves on the whole east coast. Even platties was useless when it was on. It looks half decent from a distance, but its just not.
what happened to the clouds!?
Ive caught probably 5 flattys total and not one ate my hook. All of them jagged. Theyd eat the bait then sit on my hook and i was just impatient and brought the line in. Every time i hook them its either under the head or under the belly.
