Soul Radio Vol 125 Jan 1990 (Mostly recorded from Jeff Young's Big Beat show)
Переглядів 375Рік тому
Soul, Funk, Jazz-Funk and house records played on the radio by Jeff Young in January 1990. This tape continues the Jeff Young show which finished tape 124. There is a good segment of Jeff Young at the end of side 1. There could also be some content from the UK charts and Steve Allen on side two, but side one I think is all Jeff Young. Recorded on a high-quality Sony UX 90 cassette tape. There a...
Mystery Soul Track recorded from Robbie Vincent's Killer Cuts part 1 1989 23-12-89 (solved)
Переглядів 246Рік тому
This great Soul track was recorded from Robbie Vincent's second from last show on Radio 1 back in 1989. Aired on the 23rd of December 1989. This was part of the Killer Cuts Part 1 show which was his penultimate show on Radio 1. At the time I wrote the song name as "Lay A Little Love" by Hocke Cold but there is no such artist. Obviously, a bit rushed at the time as I was too busy avoiding leavin...
Mystery Jazz Cut recorded in July 1983 on Soul Radio Vol 41
Переглядів 303Рік тому
This Mystery track was recorded in July 1983 as the last track on one of my tapes (No. 41), I think from the Steve Allen "Streetbeat" show on Hereward Radio. I have no idea what the track is called or the Artist's name. I ran out of space on the bit of paper I was writing on at the time and simply left it off. Does anyone have an idea. Lots of instruments involved, including some good Trumpet, ...
Soul & House Radio Vol 119 October 1989
Переглядів 301Рік тому
Soul, Funk, R&B, House, Rap, Hip-Hop, & Dance records played on the radio in October 1989. Recorded on A Fugi DR 90 Cassette tape. These were mainly recorded from the charts and it was a mixed genre tape made for the whole family, and just like the previous tape I have removed the pop/rock tracks leaving the great Soul, Funk, House, Hip Hop, and Chillout tracks that were recorded at the time. T...

Classy mate. Just found a cassette case taped on 18/1/87 that I called "Meltability!" No tape inside. Got the tracks written down. Had Vesta Williams, OBrien, Ready for the world, HOT house . Keep funkin'
Shame the tape was missing. You can always recreate it as a playlist, I did that with one I had missing. It It Moves funk it! 🙂
Hey Red Drallek, 65 year old Brit here. I simply can’t thank you enough for this upload. Robbie was and is, THE coolest DJ. This was the show to listen to if you were into your funk and was always played while you were going through your Saturday evening pre-going out ritual. Thanks to you I am transported back to my halcyon days. Power to the TDK SA-C90!! ✊😘
❤ Awesome
WHAT HAPPENED FROM OLLIE & JERRY the sound has gone weird (in case you don’t know)
Great song! Thank your dad for sharing one of his life experiences,
!!!
Any reason why "the freedom principle" by Galliano was left out ?
Hi, The freedom Principle by Bukkyleo Galliano is currently not on UA-cam, so I couldn't include it on the playlist.
Absolutely superb version that enhances the memories of the original version (which is still a classic). However, this is an extremely respectable modern version. Thanks for sharing. Peace and Blessings.
funk god I used to religiously listen. waiting for the jazz tracks. gem
The day after I left the RAF after 14 years .. Big Party on the 13th and hung over on this day ,never heard this show til now ! Thanks !
And the hits just keep on coming
I would listen to Robbie in this year (1984) i was 24 then. 40 years on am 64 and still sounds great
He's DJ'ing at the Coppid Beech Hotel in Bracknell, Berkshire on 8th November, 2024. A one off RV special!
Gosh that New Edition track sounds weird, like a speeded up version of the lead female singer from Five Star lol
Yes they do, a very young Bobby Brown i think that is. Unless it is a young Raph Transvent on lead on that one.
A question. Does anyone know what year??? The radio London Saturday show finished? My knowledge is from Jan 85 he went to Radio 1 Sunday night? Because I started to listen to his shows Spring/Summer 1984 and I’m fairly convinced that’s right, (for me). But here it says recorded Jan 84 Sunday night radio 1 unless typo? Thanks
He started on Radio 1 on Jan1st 1984, but carried on doing his London show that year as well. We are not sure when he finished doing the Saturday Show on London. I did ask him but he can't remember 🙂. We know he carried on until July at least.
That's some funky Jazz
Yes indeed. 🎷🎹
What’s the name Red Drallek all about?
That Kleeer track is pure class for da ar….
This was a show I definitely listened to and here it is again. Amazing! Thanks for the upload. You’re as amazing as Robbie 👍🏆
😄😄 Great praise indeed, (where do want the cheque sending) 🙃😆
well I’m in Poland now, (original Soul boy from London then moved to Kent). Thanks for the offer but more Robbie V shows will do 👍🇬🇧🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
Bought that Margie Joseph album because of Robbie’s Saturday show and still have it. At least 3 killer cuts on it.
Some great tracks on here, like Sybil and Omari. They don't do music today like they used to,was blessed to be a teen in the 80s.🙏 I used to buy imports from Hitman records in London and they wondered how this 15 year old kid knew these tunes. It was thanks to Mr Vincent and Mr Edwards and a few pirate stations 'back in the day'.Great times. Thank you for putting this up.
Yes great days, even for someone in his 20s by then. The 70's was also a pretty special time to be a teenager. But I think everyone thinks that of their "Teenager Time" The music was certainly great in the 80s.
Absolutely brilliant putting this up. Great days listening to Robbie Vincent. He is a British Soul & Funk pioneer.
Yes agreed, he is a legend.
Awesome collection of Soul & Funk goodness 👍👍👍🏆🏆🏆Robbie no.1
Just picked this album up at my local Goodwill. It's awesome and brings me back to my childhood when me and I mom danced to Motown!
That last track/mix nil points lol
lol, agreed, maybe not one of Robbie's picks.
I grew up with Robbie’s Saturday shows on Radio London. Was a different vibe on Radio 1
Hi ya great upload can I ask a question about copyright here on UA-cam ?
Holy Moly! I used to have this chart (maybe the week before//after) on cassette! Still love Incantation, thanks for sharing!
Nightporter! (I could be here all day with comments) thanks again!
Pleased it bought back the memories 🙂
80s music of another planet❤⭐👍
Anglo jazz funk memories of my youthness in London Town❤⭐👍
Thanks
PS: I think you’d get more plays/views if you started your heading with the words ‘Robbie Vincent’ as that’s what we search for trying to find his classic shows or playlists etc. Just saying
I’m listening to most of your Robbie Vincent uploads, quality! 👍🏆
💯💯💯💯💯💯
Rewind brilliant memories of listening to the this tape of the legendary Robbie Vincent's Radio One show from 1985 Even in 2024 if moves funk it
Rewind back to the middle 80s Listening to the Robbie Vincent's shows was karma like many I recorded on cassette for personal use only like Red drellak I salute Thank you for going taking us like many paying respect to a Radio music DJ how on Radio One in the early 80s embraced all genres of black music Robbie Vincent we thank you for the Superb Sunday nights Music for a candle lit dinner, and all of your classic one liners etc Courtesy of RedDrallek We can reminisce Even in 2024 If moves funk it
they were great days full of great music, especially if you recorded from this great show and could play the best music all the time 🙂. Of course we were also broke, from buying it as well 🙃.
Rewind back to me the 80s the greatest era of Soul funk Jazz, Electro, hip hop Rap, go go, Gospel, hip Latino piano techno acid house, garage Listening to the Robbie Vincent Show back then to me was my high light of the weekend not going on the dance floor Even in 2024 If moves funk it
Top show just managed to listen to this all, few dodgy ones but I forgive.
🤗🔝🍀
Pure goodness
Seeing the singles covers is nice touch, I remember my friend and me raiding the bargain bins for ex chart bargains at 25p each.
Yes I did the same. happy days. I remember when they were 10p
Best one yet Mr Red..... Thanks for posting your tapes, such a happy time in my life in the 1980s going clubbing and listening to great soul, and jazz funk music......
Yes this is a great tape, I'm a little surprised it hasn't had more views, must have slid under the radar at some point. I'm pleased you like it 🙂
AGREE that taping music was good as yes I bought most of not all what I tapped 🎧
Yes I was the same, i would tape it and after a few plays I would have to go and buy the album or single.
Quality. This is one of the reasons we loved and still love Mr RV. A legend
I’m only half way listening to this upload ITS BRILLIANT and top quality. PS: read your notes on this, you have many Robbie Vincent shows?
😊😊😊
Is this you on this Allen ? Fantastic track, it should have been huge.
@@Soul-Jazz-Funk-Time-Machine Yes, it's me! Brought back some memories! Thanks
Can anyone tell me what that doggie boogie baby was all about lol. He said it didn’t do well in that states lol, wonder why, then it’s gets a Uk release? Bizarre
That Mary Clayton is like the saddest song but brilliant
Yes I love that one, and I know it's one of Robbies favourites too.
Bought that album J Blackfoot Taxi after hearing it on the Robbie Vincent Saturday show. I wonder if it was this show? This shows are the backbone of my life great upload
Easy to knock the Kids from Fame but they released at least a couple of classics which have stood the test of time.
Hi, is this from his iconic Saturday show or radio 1? Thanks.
This is from Radio 1. This is a mixed tape with some bits from Robbie Vincent's Sunday night show and also from Steve Allen on Hereward Radio doing his Street Beat show.
I used to play this bit over and over.
