I lived about 1/4 mile from him in boiling springs S. C. If he was out near the road when I drove by I could stop and talk to him about racing . My uncle grew up with him and they were good friends also a guy I worked with was also friend with them. After I first meet him whenever we would see each other out in public he would always speak to me or give a wave if we not too close to each other. He was a class act . R. I. P. SILVER FOX

David Pearson, just a simple man loaded with raw talent and knew how to use it. He did a lot for nascar, but those that knew him also know how much he did for children in the Hejaz Shrine Temple. Thank you Noble Brother David for everything.

David Pearson should have been in the first hall of fame class he was that good. It was a shame NASCAR did not put him in the hall of fame that first year.

I remember that Daytona 500 when Bobby and Davey finished 1- 2. I remember Davey saying after the race " I tried to take him that last lap, but he was just too strong".

I remember as a kid watching Petty and Pearson as far as I can remember in the early 70's two of my favorites

I was just a kid racing Jr. class IKF Event at Denton tx back in 1977 ish and Lake was there racing also. He was my hero in the karting world and was so excited when he invited me and a couple of the other Jr. racers into his motor home for some cokes and snacks. Best dang Coke i ever drank.

Bobby is the reason I am a race fan. Love him! I cannot imagine losing a son - much less two - to a sport that you spent your whole life perusing.

It's not hard to separate the children from the adults in this comment section. I nominate Tim for Nascar Hall of Fame for his driving skills.

Incredibly talented driver but you can’t celebrate the fact that he killed women spreading AIDS when he knew he had the virus.

Unfortunately he planted his death seed knowingly in women who later died.....not such a good guy after all.

God, I must be old. I remember when Lake and that "Ricky Rudd" kid were racing go-karts. In fact, in some old box I still have a mid 60's IKF magazine (International Karting Federation) mentioning Ricky in some Texas race. As for Lake Speed, I don't know what happened to his career, but he had the potential of a Jeff Gordon.
