Depends how the rest of the draft is unfolding. If there are still top-tier wide receivers available then you can take the chance on nominating him and getting him, but also there could be another manager that wants him. Know your room when nominating.

I usually bid on everyone at the beginning and take the bargains that come my way. Then I fill in the holes with the money that’s left. Most of my leagues are keepers, so I buy a lot of young cheap players hoping for a breakout in year one and a shot at excellent value in the next.

He is for sure one who slides under the radar here. Many think he won't return value like he did last year with De’Von Achane taking the next step, plus drafting Jaylen Wright. Enjoy getting him cheap while you still can!

@@tonylibertella1735 great question here! I wouldn't keep Montgomery since there is no value there since he's already going in that range. That leaves us with Reed and Ford. With it being PPR, many would tell you to go with the wide receiver and go Reed. But we're passing on him and if you have Twitter, Adam did a thread on WR3’s with Reed being one of them and making him a hard pass for me (Ryan). Here, with not knowing how long Chubb is out for I'm going with Ford in the 17th. Chubb is out at least 4 games and Ford has a chance to start off as an RB2 with upside. When Chubb was out (week 3-17, he was a back-end RB2 (RB20). I like how he played last season and I think he should be a good RB2 for your squad. Good luck!

I'm not a huge fan of Zack Moss. I think we're all living off the hype he had filling in for Jonathan Taylor.

A sample one yes. We did one in the episode. But we know a lot of leagues have different settings and lineups. If you give us your league settings, we’ll gladly help you!

Is the league TEP or just an additional TE spot? If not TEP, I'd say it really shouldn't affect how you draft too much. Grab whichever top TE you like and add a mid to later round type as your #2. In PPR, WRs are always going to score points so I wouldn't sacrifice money from there. Maybe trim a few dollars off your RBs but nothing too drastic. Consider someone like Conklin, Jonnu, Henry, Taysom (if league on Sleeper), Gisicki, etc, as your #2 TE. Cheap but reliable.

@@wpl8275 true, but knowing your league and setting your range of spending helps. Plus if you spend too much at one area, or are looking to spend more, you just take away from another.

They're great, especially if you want to dabble into dynasty, but aren't quite ready for it.

I'm In a 1QB keeper league and love it! We changed the rules and removed kickers and defenses and added two more flexes. Now the league is QB, 2RB, 2WR, TE, 3FLEX and PPR… what a draft it was!

100%…. In reality, auctions are way way better than snake!

That was me Sunday. I didn't give up on it, but added an algorithm to help me with how much I had left to spend. I followed my tier sheet more than my par sheet, but loved how the team turned out

I've played in a few different types of auctions leagues. But my favorite, and the format I play the most, is Salary Cap / Contract.

@@duncanwaldrop we always like to use a par sheet when it comes to budgeting. 10-team league, I would look to spend up to 85% of your budget on your starters and the rest on your bench. How does your league usually draft?

Hey Duncan! Sounds like a pretty balanced league lineup. Do you have the history of the league? In our first episode, we talk about our auction mindsets. After that we talk about building a par sheet. I personally like to make a few par sheets and will see which way the draft takes me. The par sheet is a tool to use to help you build a roster up. Constantly adjust and try not to get into bidding wars where you may hurt your team!

What scares you about Arthur Smith? He wants to run the ball. Jaylen Warren is everyones favorite at the moment. Cook on the other hand, you're hoping he can at least match what he put up last season. Hope he does, but it’s hard to get behind.

@@AbsoluteAuctionPodcast I just did not like the way he called plays at Atlanta and they had Robinson and he would still call passing plays. Warren and Harris work good as a pair although no doubt Warren is more explosive but can he handle a heavier work load?

As I stated about his cost, I love the value. Many hate Najee, especially with the hire of Arthur Smith. I'm still Najee Harris>Jayen Warren.

@@quickjab33 why is the comparison how he called plays in ATL and not TEN ? Najee and Derrick Henry are the same size/speed. Smith was HC in ATL and OC in TEN? every single year smith was a OC he had a top 5 rushing offense.
