These two films have nothing in common just because a few people have parallels or it was simply copied by the director, it is not the same film in Metropolis it is about two class society as well as huge cities and has the believe the first robot in a film and is a pioneer for science fiction and is considered the longest film when it came out and is listed in Germany as a world document heritage

People. These movies have nothing in common. They’re not related. People found some parallels in some scenes but they’re not related at all. Metropolis is about a monstrous city divided by classes with a main character who wants to break this division. This is not the same as poor things.

If anything the upcoming movie megalopolis and summary of it is closer to comparison to metropolis. Considering the movie been planned since the late 70s by Francis Coppola (director of the godfather films, apocalypse end and bram strokers: Dracula) I wouldn’t be surprised he did see that movie and whag inspired him to think of megalopolis.

Guessing it’s normal 1920s New York but each time he reverts time and twists things if leads to the whole semi futuristic with hologram screens, moving statures, and such. But things for worst and he is trying fo fix it.
