New one showing up in my feed today. I noticed SoT seems down today....nothing up yet re Day 20
This one showed up in my feed today....it looks very summery there again after the snow
sunday we get back down into the 20s for at least 5 days.🥶
@@independenceltd. That will be nasty...has that happened before there.....that cold for that long?
@@garyh.238 yeah, probably every other yr.
@@independenceltd. You'll know what to prepare for!....in other news, didn't see your entry on SoT today - wondering if gremlins stole it..
@@garyh.238 nah...i'm in the weeds at work. i'll have it later. lol
Owlbear is brand new to me, but that cover is so cool I gotta look it up. Oh dude! That debut sword album is so good I need to buy a copy. I haven’t heard their other 2 before. Is that vulture the same vulture that is a side project of Ryan waste? Great video buddy 🍻
The Ryan Waste is "Volture". These guys are out of Germany. Let me know what you think of Owlbear. 👍
Went to the show in Milwaukee. First time seeing King.
I thought it was a great show. Maybe my fifth time seeing King, including once with Mercyful Fate.
@independenceltd. , I regret not seeing MF with Kreator and Midnight. It was at a casino in Indiana and driving in crap traffic lol. It was pricey but it ended up the new norm. I will make sure to go next time
@@tomp8463 That was the tour I saw, although we missed Midnight due to crap traffic. Did get to see them a few months later with Exciter.
Metalized is a monster of an album, never too late to discover that one, as long as you discover it! Electric Circus was my intro to WASP, saw them on that tour and loved it ever since. Adam and the Ants was one of my first favourite bands. Great tag response!
Thanks for dropping in. Someone had to pick up your slack. lol
Great list, some stuff I have never heard of. Just saw on Facebook that Traveller broke up...hope it's just a rumor.
me too. that would suck.
I subbed due to you loving Fortune and Glory. One of my top 3 songs of the year. Massively underrated band!
thank you, kind sir. and i agree! i actually did a top 25 songs of 2024 in the comments of another channel and I put the song at #2.🤘
@@independenceltd. Yeah I just fall in love with that song over and over again. Immediate air drumming...lol. For context my favorite song of the year was Gods in Decay by Unleash the Archers and my 3rd is Spirit of No Return by Soilwork which has another of the most melodic catchy choruses of the year.
@@mtaffer I'll have to check those out. my three: 1. Antioch - Understand 2. Mega Colossus - Fortune & Glory 3. Achelous - Istar (Blood Red Sea)

Thank you, kind sir.
WASP is one band I knew about but only dived into this year. And I am glad i did. Good answer to the re-connected question with Jack Russell . I don't have Great Whites early stuff just their later albums, and I also like the Led Zeppelin covers albums they did. R.I.P Jack. I would love that " Conan The Barbarian " soundtrack on vinyl. Love that movie so much. Great Metal Tag mate and happy you showed some Rose Tattoo.🤘
Thanks for checking in, Tatts for Life! 🤘
I have always enjoyed Electric Circus but Headless Children is my favourite. I am seeing them live this year for the first time which I am looking forward too. You can't go wrong with any Type O. One of my favourite bands of the 90s. I stopped buying Great White stuff after Hooked as they became too bluesy for me.supet tag mate😃🤘p.s thanks for mentioning me in your vid
I saw WASP for the first time since '86 this past yr. Great show, as the debut is still my favorite. And so true about TON. Cheers!
Interesting exercise! Great insights!
nice change of pace. good questions.
I heard about a website in Canada called "Le Noise". Heard they carry distro for a few labels, if you felt like checking them out. Haven't looked myself.
@@independenceltd. I have checked their site...if it's the same one, it's a record store about 20 miles south of Montreal, and I see that they do ship to the states. I see they have a few Fu Manchu albums (but not King of the Road, and only vinyl (but out of stock) re In Search Of. I'm not sure if it's the same company my record store uses. Next time I'm in the store, I'll ask.
@@garyh.238 was worth a shot...
@@independenceltd. Thanks for thinking of me! 🙂 And on the topic of FM, I have gone thru "Daredevil" a couple of times. Glass's fuzz guitar is prominent on all tunes. The voice though (has a talk style of delivery), makes all the tunes sound kind of samey. The strongest tunes IMO are: Push Button Magic, Space Farm, and Travel Agent. All those are available to listen to here on YT.
Great response to the Tag …good answers ..there’s a few I wanna checkout especially that Legions of Doom album Appreciate the shout out Cheers Mate 🤘🍻
Thank you, and my pleasure!

@ I have “Live” from ‘78 but I think that is it
@@independenceltd. That's a good one, and, there are a couple of Lives that are even better. Double Live from 1988, and Real LIVE from 2004. On the latter is a live version of that track I sent to you the other day: "He's Calling"....he adds another 5 minutes of soloing on it. Several bands I don't know, will check them out for sure because they are right up my alley! Based on your list I recommend the following albums, all from 2024: Sunburst - Manifesto InnerWish - Ash of Eternal Flame SkyEye - New Horizons Lucifer's Hammer - Be and Exist Black Sites - The Promised Land?
I actually have "Exile" by Black Sites. Might have to revisit it. I've heard a lot about Lucifer's Hammer. Definitely need to check them out. I will check out your other recommendations as well. Thanks for the info. Cheers!
Good looking list....will be placing orders at my local metal shop for the Saxon, Jupiter Cyclops, and Antioch albums.
I think you'll really like Jupiter Cyclops. They have a classic sound, with a modern feel, and the guitarist is killer.

@independenceltd. i'll check there and with my local metalhead shop...between them i should be able to track down a copy
@@independenceltd. I'll check there too, thanks!
Now....back to the topic of Judas Priest. Yes indeed Indy Donald, your ranking is correct re Invincible Shield...in the solid 8.0 zone - which is very respectable. And now, after an initial listen to the "Firepower" album, I concur totally....it is without a doubt the superior album. The immediacy, freshness and cohesion of the whole album comes across big time. And I know it's only going to get better with each successive listen. Indeed Faulkner rejuvenated the band, much the same way McBride has done for Purple. Top trax at first spin are: Evil Never Dies, Guardians/Rising From the Ruins, Spectre, Traitor's Gate, and Lone Wolf. Definitely an easy 8.5 inching towards 9.0 territory! Rock solid!
yep, those are some great tunes you listed.
@@independenceltd. I would say that Firepower is the best thing Priest has done since 1990, ie: Painkiller. Very strong album so late in their career.
@@garyh.238 I might like it even better than PK. Closer to their true sound, whereas PK employed a lot of thrash elements.
@@independenceltd. I hear what you're saying! I like Painkiller a lot...probably my 2nd favourite album of their catalogue ( the order of preference changes on occasion). In Firepower, I do hear a style somewhat closer to Defenders of the Faith.....I could be wrong though...I need to listen to it a few more times before I can make a definitive statement about it.
@@garyh.238 I think it's very similar to DOTF as well.
Some nuggets there among your top 40 to 21. In fact the only four (4) albums of 2024 that I acquired this year are in this particular list, in a bit different order (Bruce D., Purple, BCC & Priest). Bought lots and lots of old stuff this past year. Speaking of Priest, I have tracked down a copy of Firepower and will get to spinning that sometime this week. Am intrigued by that Kelley Juett solo album now that I am aware of the Mothership connection. Unfortunately Bandcamp seems to be sold out of physical copies of Mothership product, only digital downloads available.....might have to commit sacrilege!
nooooooooooooooooooo...well, that sux. have you checked discogs or ebay? I had to pump the breaks on the purchases or I'd have never finished my list. Coming in just under the wire and I started the last week in Oct. I'll have to start Oct. 1st next yr. lol
@@independenceltd. Yes, both sites have copies, but it's the shipping costs that are the deal breakers. I'll keep checking with the local shops...am bound to find something sooner or later. As for your acquisitions - on top of those 40 from this calendar year, I recall you getting a few boxsets and lots of old vintage stuff to fill out your collection.....how do you keep up with it all!
@@garyh.238 i don't. lol i forget that the shipping costs to canada are so expensive. bummer.
@@independenceltd. Yeah, so I'll just keep fishing in the local shops...eventually i'll hook one or more. Speaking of good finds...today I found a used copy of Frank Marino & Mahogany Rush - Eye of the Storm from 2000....man is there some impressive guitar work on it. On one track I was totally mesmerized. Here's the track "He's Calling".......ua-cam.com/video/h8qBk4TDK7g/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared

Versatile little band....I am hearing straight-ahead rock with a shuffle beat on this one. They play multi-styles it seems.
how they describe themselves: Consisting of brothers Kyle Juett on bass/lead vocals, Kelley Juett on guitar/vocals, and Judge Smith on drums, these guys have created a unique sound that satisfies like a steaming hot stew of UFO and Iron Maiden, blended with the southern swagger of Molly Hatchet and ZZ Top, paired with a deadly chalice of Black Sabbath.
