TransAmerica Trail Ep. 4 (Finale) - Honda CT125 - Overcoming Oregon
In August 2022, I completed 2,700 miles of the TransAmerica Trail on my 2021 Honda CT125. This video covers my travels in the final state of Oregon!
There's a good share of riding clips in this video, but I have tried to cover most of my trip in the moments out of the saddle, and my thoughts on what an adventure like this brings me. I was inspired by seeing others tackle this, and I hope to encourage more to get out there.
The Pacific Northwest held some of the best riding on the trip. Many roads were paved throughout the National Forests, and the others were well shaded gravel. I saw two bears, and countless cows. This time though, I met two guys, Rob and Steve, and we rode together for the finals days of the TAT, before meeting the Pacific.
My journey had come to an end. Time to plan the next trip - thanks for following along!

In August 2022, I completed 2,700 miles of the TransAmerica Trail on my 2021 Honda CT125. This video covers my solo adventures in Idaho! Idaho was a nice change in pace. Not much adventure, besides a bit of a fright with a storm around Mountain Home. Timestamps:
TransAmerica Trail Ep. 2 - Honda CT125 - Unraveling Utah

In August 2022, I completed 2,700 miles of the TransAmerica Trail on my 2021 Honda CT125. This video covers my solo adventures in Utah! Like Colorado, the previous state (and the following two), I had only spent time in Utah at the SLC airport, so I was excited to see the state in its entirety. The landscape varied between scenes I expected, and ones I couldn't have imagined; namely, the Manti-...

In August 2022, I completed 2,700 miles of the TransAmerica Trail on my 2021 Honda CT125. This video covers my solo adventures in Colorado! I had only spent time in the Denver airport before starting the TAT, so this was diving off the deep end to see the state of Colorado. Huge mountain passes, a toe/foot injury, and some lightning encounters brought me to Utah, but not before watching the bit...

I've just completed my 2,700 mile trip on the TransAmerica Trail on my 2021 Honda Trail 125. This is a kickoff for a few videos I'm making for fun to share with family and friends - more to come as I edit the footage.
TransAmerica Trail - Honda CT125 - What I Packed

In August 2022, I completed 2,710 miles of the TransAmerica Trail on my 2021 Honda CT125. Mostly solo, I traveled from Denver, CO, to Port Orford, OR in 15 days. Prior to this trip, I took a 164 miles trip, and camped off my motorcycle once. I also got my motorcycle license two months before leaving for the TAT. I camped most nights and completed a number of repairs along the way. I was asked a...

DIY: Audi TT Shifter Bushing Replacement
Переглядів 25 тис.5 років тому
After losing 5-6th gear on my MK1 TT 225, I shortly lost ability to shift through any and all gears reliably. After some research led me to presume my shifter bushings failed (common on 1990s-2000s VAG Cars) I ordered a replacement bushing set and fixed it up. Since I didn't find many comprehensive tutorials online, I figure I'd put one together for the sake of posterity. Diesel geek kit, with ...
I dream of a Honda 150 Trail.
Spectacular video! Very articulate ,excellent explanation. Thank you so much for this!
Yeah, you have to watch those calves. They will spook and run right into you broadside. Great work
Awesome
I would love to do this on my ADV150 someday, my fear is that I’m so not mechanically inclined that I’d get stranded on the first day when something breaks lol
Never made a fire!?! 😮
5:30 The Shinko 241 are trial tires (not trail, trial) they are a softer compound (more sticky as they call it in trials riding) and will wear quite fast. What you are looking for is Shinko 244 dual-sport tires, basically same tread pattern but last about 10k miles, they have a harder street tire rubber but also feature the knobs for off-road. You can actually run front and rear 244 at 3.0 inch wide as long as you raise the front mud guard up 5mm or so using a riser kit. That way when your rear tire wears down, you swap it with the front buying you 1.8 times the distance or so before needing to buy a new tire!
2nd lesson: secure all items you don’t want to lose
1st lesson: Lock-tite everything or your nuts will loosen and fall off
I carry two nuts every where i go. 😎
nice you brought 3 pones so you can get mugged 2 times with out getting fucked
All Very-Gooood-Advice 👍
Definitely more complicated than I’m comfortable with trying to do on my own :(
@@michaelh8854 you can do it! It looks like a lot, but it’s just a couple of screws and sliding metal pieces. If you get stuck, refer to the video or comment again and I can help
Great video! I just can't find a shifter for my 2001 TT. Really needs to be replaced.
Hey man, I've watched a couple of your Trans America Trail videos. very cool stuff and I'm thinking about doing the same thing, could I ask you a few questions about the colorado section?
Great video! Thanks!
This the same as the 100 series Land Cruiser. Thanks!
Awesome video, man! Thanks for the help. I fully rebuilt the cables and cable tubes and sunroof is working great. However, when closing from the fully open, I’m consistently getting 2 stop points: about 1/4 closed and 1/2 closes. Also, when it’s in the tilted up position, and I click tilt down, it automatically goes into the auto open and starts sliding all the way back. Any insight on these two issues? Do I need to reset the relay or something?
Are there 4 drain tubes, or just 2 in front? 2006 4R
There are 4 on a 3rd gen. You might want to look up a video about a 4th gen.
Great video!! Appreciate it, going to have to go through this, already replaced the motor on the sunroof of my sequoia and still got stuck on tilt today had to take the glass off and sprayed some lube on the track, got it to close but still seems like it's jammed found a lot of grease gunk on the worm gear of the motor most likely clogged😢.
I got one 2000 1.8 Quattro I reset the gearbox change the clothes cylinder, master the blender valve I still feel like gears don’t goin good
Well, be grateful you came down that "very very rough" pass as opposed to up it. Would the trail have made it up?
Good stuff. Enjoyed all 4 videos.
i normally swear by COLEMAN when it comes to camping gear. its reasonably priced, good quality, and will last
Love the views! I tipped over, off camber, downhill right where you had stopped on California Pass - in wet snow on July 3rd on my TAT adventure. Pinned my toe under the downhill foot peg and broke it! MX boots were the only cast I needed for the rest of the trip.
Sir, I do luv your vids, but please stop using the 360 view on your camera. Give us reality.
What do you mean? This isn’t a 360° camera. If you mean spinning around for the view, that’s what I do in person when looking. That is reality. Also, these videos are already recorded…
ha got almost trash in my eye, that I had to wipe a lot, watching this. Did that in June 2012 and seeing those places! Very different look in early June with snow everywhere. (in regular year it wouldn't be even open then but it was low rain/snow season). Oh yeah DR650 so not the same thing but I am a lover of small bikes. TAT isn't mostly _that_ technical. Some steep inclines, soft sand sections and some ditches were the hardest. Most could be navigated around if really needed.
Thats cool man, been wanting to do something similar. You upload the map anywhere?
I seem to be having a similar issue but I have a base 180hp fwd tt with the 5 speed and I was wondering do I get the same Audi tt bushings or do I need to get the mk4 bushing kit on dieselgeek
I’d give them a call to ask and double check, but sounds like you can get the mk4 kit.
that was scary ! i am handicapped i would never be able to continue on without someone direct help. would have to be a strong dude to if not 2x
they are not stupid they want to run with you. some fantastic footage thanks
What are those brackets you have to set your mirrors out wider?
Great video I just bought a 2023 CT 125 and have been working on it. I’ve done a lot of adventures on scooters and motorcycles. Hope to do some on the CT 125. You can see some of the videos on my channel if you’d like, great content. Thanks for sharing. Keep the rubber side down.🇺🇸👍🏻
Such a great journey! Thank you for sharing and to many more trips!
Instant 360 camera What month is good on a motorbike thanks
Thank you for sharing your journey !
New to your channel. wish i was young again
Nice places ❤ .
Dont blam you safety man
Hummm ?? Just thinking out loud.. Carry a 12 or 13 tooth from sprocket.. Swap it out on the passes
I have a 1999 it's getting power , what is your price to repair
Where are you located?
@@anygiventrail in Georgia
curious any hassles from the cops ?
There's no cops out there lol
@@krystianandrzejczyk3750 aight then thats what i figured but dude was talkin about "insurance" so im like....
Had exactly the same issue. Thanks for posting the video. Wierd how it seems to “fix” itself and then break again.
Why did you have to walk the bike up the hill? Did you run out of fuel?
No, the bike did no have the power at that elevation to carry me and my gear. At full throttle, it would just stall.
Try a 13 tooth front sprocket. ??
No it’s just a piece of sh!t that can barely operate under its own power lol
Wow!! The first symptom is my problem. Mine works bust doesn't..
You have to realize. When your at 12,000’ your engine is only putting out about 55% of the rated HP. It’s good to somebody with a real sense of adventure.
Maybe somebody already said this. Put Loctite on everything.
What a pain in the ass. I hate shit like this on vehicles. All this trouble for a stupid sunroof.
Great job and thank you. Really only took this on after watching a number of times. I did come up with a tip/trick for removing the A Pillar grab handle screws that are glued in. I made a phillips head bit to fit in my soldering gun, heated the screw and that melted the glue making removal easy. Note, be careful obviously because of the heat, and time as it can melt or soften some of the surrounding plastic, but patience and care will get them out easily without an impact driver.
Yeah that’s a great tip!
Well done I got a second had gear linkage complete from the UK cheap but sending was costly and paid a friend ti do the job! Costly as he had to get underneath and take the exhaust of etc. but I wonder did he have too!
