Oregon Photo Walks
United States
Приєднався 19 лип 2024
We are active senior citizens who love photography and the great outdoors. Combined we have over a century of photographic experience. To date ourselves, we started with film in a time that each shot cost money, mandating learning the rules of composition as quickly as possible. Both of us spent our weekly allowance developing our film. We both progressed and evolved as the photographic world changed, starting with 35mm film, eventually graduating to mirrorless cameras.
When we retired, we relocated from Nevada to the southern Oregon coast. We love it here and feel as though we are living in a paradise, where there is beauty to be photographed every time we step out the door.
Our goal with this channel is to share the natural beauty that is Oregon. We express that beauty with our walks using our photographs and videos to showcase our home state. As retired teachers we have to teach and help those around us find that beauty as well.
Holiday Lights at the Coast!
Happy Holidays from the holiday lights display at Shore Acres State Park on the Oregon Coast. It was our first time seeing the celebration of lights and we'll continue the tradition for as long as we can. We invite you to come out to the Oregon Coast and enjoy the lights with us!
We're a couple of active senior citizens who love photography and the great outdoors. And we love to go on photo walks so we can share all the treasures the coast has to offer. Follow us as we go on our adventures on the Oregon coast!

Photo Walk on the Coos Bay Boardwalk! A little something different from our usual photo walks. You'll see the boardwalk with the Veteran's Memorial, the historic "Koos No. 2", the marina, as well as working tugboats on the bay. The port of Coos Bay is very important to the state of Oregon and is a great source of revenue. It's also a place of incredible beauty and photo ops abound! @OregonPhoto...

New Nikon 28-400mm Z Lens, Review & First Photos
Hey Mr Oregon, my name is Johnny and I'm a freelance designer who still trying his best to look for more works to afford a Nikon Zf soon, would you love to have an inspiring minimalist logo that help your channel to have an extra graphical way to make your brand remembered easier by different background of new audiences and some merch prints arts which you can wear and your fans can buy to support you to drive loyalty and act as a wearable business card to spread words about your channel too? Let me know if you interested to make it happen! :-) Sincerely, Johnny Chin
Hey Mr. Chin, thank you for the offer but we are waiting until our channel grows a bit more before we need these services.
@OregonPhotoWalks I see, I can provide some insight to advice how you can share and plan your video to have more views too, I guess you needed it too
@OregonPhotoWalks I mean, I need more works now to fund myself to get a Zf + 28-400mm f4-8, if you like to provide me some opportunities, it will be a nice win win situation!
Great review. Thanks for making this video. I hope a DJI Mic 2 or some lav mic is on your buying list. It will make your audio in your videos MUCH better like in the first shot.
Does anyone know if there is a comparison somewhere on line between this lens and the Tamron 50-400 mm. ?
You might check with Adorama or B&H for a comparison. I do not know of a comparison other than that.
Very well, thank you for the suggestion.
I have Nikon Z5 and 24-200mm. I am thinking of upgrading to 28-400mm for nature photography
The 28-400 is a great lens! Mine lives on my Z5. Enjoy.
Bought this and the 24-120. Might sell the 24-120 due to the size and sharpness of the 28-400.
I have several lens I leave in my kit as well and will probably sell too. I'm thinking the only other lens I "need" is the NIkkor Z14-24 S.
A nice video and the use of the Nikon Z5 body with the 28-400mm lens. I lived in New York city for a couple of years and I agree with you about the driving there, your images of the places you visited are well composed and look well done with that lens. I have the Z5 it is my first Z camera and now also the Z7-2 I have three Z lenses and this long zoom is something I have been contemplating to buy, I like zoom lenses and when used properly they deliver. Have you found that at the corners is a bit soft? Thank you for the video well done.
Thank you! It was my first time in NYC. It really is a photogs dream location to shoot. So much to shoot, everywhere! I have not experienced a softening at the corners. But then, I run Topaz Sharp and denoise on most of my shots in post.
It's soft.
I'm about to purchase this lens myself - great and realistic review! (btw...welcome to the dark side - the mirrorless world! LOL 🙂)
Thanks for the feedback. I have enjoyed this lens and it really has helped me embrace the "dark side"! Mirrorless took a bit of getting used to, but I think the raw quality of my photos is higher. I hope you enjoy this lens as much as I do.
It shoots everything but nothing will be particularly stunning. Images always end up looking too flat and lifeless just like the 24-200
I'm sorry you are having that result. I have been happy with this lens and it lives on my Z5. Don't give up, keep shooting!
Perhaps its you that is too flat and lifeless!!
Is that the 24-200 4-5.6 you are referring to ?
Do people crab off the boardwalk?
I'm not sure. I don't remember seeing anyone crab off the docks. You might check the Visitor's center for more information. I have seen many people crabbing and clamming a few miles south in Charleston.
Another interesting and beautiful video. Many greetings fom Germany.
Thank you very much! And greetings from Oregon. We are glad you enjoy our channel.
Thanks for this no nonsense demonstration of the 28-400 capabilities.
You're welcome and thanks so much for the feedback.
😊Nice Video and nice coast. I live at the Baltic Sea in northern Germany. I like the other videos too. That's why I subscribed to your channel and look forward to more great videos from your hometown.
Thank you so much!
YOu spent most of video talking about your first video, Reboxing LOL
Im loving the 28-400, I even decided to shoot some motorsports with it during car week and during the day time theres absolutely zero reason this lense cant keep up with more specific lenses catered to specific ranges. The flexibility of this lense to go from walking around the pits of the track too shooting on the track the reach is fabulous. The vignetting can be a bit much during the day at the longer ends of the lense but it adds character!
I'm glad you are enjoying this lens too! I enjoy using my 28-400mm shooting soccer at the local college. I am faster and move quicker than the other shooters with big glass on monopods and can cover the whole field easily. I think my shots are as good as and you can't beat the convenience.
That’s lovely ❤
Thank you!
Wunderschön ❤️
Thank you! :)
Really impressive pictures from NYC. I was able to get a very good impression of the possible uses of the NIKON Z 28-400mm. Thank you very much for that! Best regards from Germany.
We're very glad to hear that! Thanks so much for the feedback, much appreciated.
Oregon- enjoyed-well content.
Thank you!
A nicely presented laid back approach.
Thanks, much appreciated!
These are all really good tips, and the pictures y’all took are beautiful
Thanks for your comment, much appreciated!
Thank you so much for this review. I'll keep following, because you give such useful information. All the best!
Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated!
Wow!✨😍
Had 21 deer in my back yard every day
That's awesome, you're so lucky!
Great report! My only holdback about this lens is it does not start at 24mm like my 24-200. I really appreciate the extra width when bopping around.
Thanks! I'm really enjoying the lens too and find the that I need the extra width at times as well. I'm thinking of adding the Nikkor Z14-24, F4 S to my kit for those epic images. I had toyed with getting the F2.8, but for the extra cost I can use one of my legacy lens for a bokeh.
A 24 to 400 mm.would be flawed in several areas of that extensive range. Starting at 24.
Hey Oregon, my name is Johnny and I'm a freelance logo designer, currently I'm looking for more works, do you love to have a logo for your channel's branding to have a memorable graphic based monogram logo to help your audience recognise and follow your channel easier? I would love to design a photography themed logo inspired by your direction for you! Let me know if you interested to make it happen! :-)
Thank you for the offer, we just started and may do this in the future. We'll keep you in mind.
This is one of my favorite parts on that trail system! Such a beautiful spot. This video made it felt like I was on the walk with you!
It is a beautiful part of the park! We're glad you felt like you were walking with us.
Great photos at the end. The one of the squirrel is my favorite!
Thanks! Yep, Bruno is a tuff character that really was not happy we were there, or maybe he wanted compensation for posing!
I have this lens and LOVE it! Photographed my Granddaughter's Flag Football games and no matter the focal length, I get sharp photos. Great review!!
Thanks for sharing! That's awesome, I'm glad you're enjoying it as much as I do.
