He has no motivation to live but he has to because of his immortality and the rage burning inside him. The rage drives him but the grief makes him want to just stop. Dying at the hands of his son and the only proof of his love is really the best ending other than of course the destruction of the world.

You knew this marriage was in trouble when the Hutter asked: "Am I any good? Do I stand up to the original?" And when Orlof drops those thirty pieces of silver on the table, and Hutter took it? But wait! Isn't this the premise from the film, Dracula 2000? If Hutter is Dracula, then, who is Orlof? Is this where we have to carjack a starship and go to see the Guardian of Forever so we can go back in time to figure this shit out. Whoa, whoa, wait! Does this mean, I might be on the cusp of fame for the most original screenplay?

Agreed. Wether you like it or not, Eggers a great film maker who cares very deeply about the story and original film and is clearly not doing it as a cash grab. Lets hope it starys a new trend of directors who actually care about the films theyre making.

Its pretty poor fare actually. The narrative is not inventive enough to make it gripping and too well known so that it's verging on the dull. Some bits are almost comical: Dafoe's blazingly comical rendition of Van Helsing and overuse of the word 'Presently' - and Depp's gurning and tongue gymnastics - to name but two. (Oh, and the usual nutty Dracula sidekick who this times decides to eat Pidgeon Head, as opposed to Tom Wait's cockroaches... yawn). The ending is bloody stupid too, with Orlock merely foiled by having a 'lie in'. Also, we never get to see Orlock really until a few clear shots toward the end that are so CGI that Skarsgaard wasn't really needed at all. Average rendition with the best bits some of the cinematography.

Yes, it’s 90% profoundly unoriginal, to the point of caricature. But the other 10% make it worth it. They did well in a world of nostalgia and remakes.

Just watched (free on Amazon). I enjoyed the movie, the only bad I would say outside the rowing, the rest of the movie just felt slapped together and what happened to everyone after the Olympics.

This actually may be the worst take I've ever seen

It’s crazy how Kraven the movie flopped so hard when it came just a year after Spider-Man 2 gave you maybe the best iteration of the character ever. That said i genuinely like the idea you came up with, although i think it’s a hard buy to get three Sony movies out of Tom Holland, especially before Secret Wars. That’s a lot of films for anybody to be in with one character and he already wasn’t as keen on staying g the character as somebody like Hugh or RDJ was which is unfortunate. I think Sony might have to cut their losses because even with this being maybe a decent movie nobody watched it and it still got treated like just another Sony Spidervillain flick.

I don't mind the absence of Spidey. I'm a bit tired of Spider-Man movies. I expected Kraven to be craptastically awful for me, given what I'd been hearing about it beforehand. But it wasn't and I enjoyed it, which was a pro to me.

I just watched this movie and the perfect way to describe it is “pick your own adventure bad ending” 😭😭😭😭😭 but fr I really liked this movie!!! I liked how it was confusing enough to be mysterious and able to be perceived differently by different people and how it was clear enough to have a story take place :3

some examples of how the film made its trans message, since you cannot seem to see it: -"there is still time" being written on the road is similar to a common message for trans people worrying about 'transitioning late', "it's never too late". -Owen's dad beign so judgemental and outright calling the tv show they're obsessed "a girl's show", thus equating the tv show with feminity and showing how Owen is being forbidden to explore something 'feminine' arbitrarily, as some trans people with less accepting parents may have a simialr sort of experience with -the ending being about how miserable owen is having rejected maddy's story as 'crazy' and spending their life unhappy and unfulfilled -the fact that its heavilly suggested that maddy is right and they are the characters from the tv show and thus Owen was a girl before being trapped inside the illusionary 'real world', thus playing into the idea that trans people were always the gender they identify with -the fact that the act of escaping the illusion is so dangerous and scary as buring yourself alive, which can be seen as an allegory for how frightening transitioning can be
