Okay, this is a bit late, but I thought it was interesting that they changed Hermione slapping Malfoy (in the book) to a punch (in the movie). Maybe because it was more dramatic/girl power-y? Regardless, it was one of my favorite moments in the third book/movie, and shows that Hermione may be a true Gryffindor after all 😋 (although I'm still convinced she is better suited to Ravenclaw)

It struck me that this book probably ends the happiest in the whole series! (I know the last book technically has a happy ending because they finally defeat Voldemort, but so many people died in the last battle that it doesn't feel very happy). This is the last book before it gets super dark and (more) people start dying, and I'm glad Harry at least got to end one year on a high note. Sirius's letter made all the difference! It's so sad their relationship got cut so short, but I'm glad Harry got to experience having a "family member" who loved him. Before this re-read, I had totally forgotten that Sirius sent Harry the Firebolt, gave Pigwidgeon to Ron, and gave Harry permission to visit Hogsmeade. It makes me feel more connected to Sirius, and I think his death will hit me harder. I'm also curious to see if they'll cast younger actors as Harry's parents, Lupin, Sirius, Snape, and Peter in the tv show, because they are actually a lot younger in the books than the actors who portrayed them in the movies. Also, if someone's animagus is supposed to reflect their inner traits/personality, then wouldn't Peter being a rat be a red flag?? Why were they friends with him??? Lol. (Just referring to the fact that when you call someone a rat, you are calling them a coward or a snitch. I know they're actually intelligent and sweet in real life!) Here's another vote for featuring Crookshanks much more in the tv show! He is definitely the unsung hero of book three 😻

It’s Halloween not Holloween!

I enjoyed the new format and I loved the chapter scenes you put in, the quick round up then the longer discussion on specific parts worked really well. I was a bit apprehensive as I was really enjoying the previous discussion videos but it was great. I agree with Aubrey that the hero of this whole book is Crookshanks and I enjoy his relationship with Padfoot and how intelligent he is. I also really like book Hermione, she is fearsome in her protection of those she loves and other vulnerable characters. She can seem annoying but she always has good intentions and also looks after people despite what is going on with her life ie the help she gives Hagrid. I think Hermione and Dumbledore have very similar traits of empathy and looking after the vulnerable. As someone else mentioned I think the fear of Lucius is the power of money and the family name of Malfoy which has been rich, powerful and connected to Voldemort. I find the back history of the Marauders so interesting and I remember the initial crushing disappointment I felt when I first read the book and then the pure joy when it’s revealed that they are not bad people. Sirius and Lupin are two of my favourite characters and their relationship is fab. Two points that Matt made. I wonder if the chains are referring to Wormtails fear chaining him and the fact that other supporters of Voldemort were still after him? Also I think it was feasible with Sirius character that he would change into a massive dog and when he developed his animagus, his main aim was to be a protective factor around Moony. I don’t think Wormtail would ever have been capable of changing without James and Sirius help. This is heartbreaking as he is then able to have a hand in every one of his friends deaths. Trelawney I find a fascinating character. She has faced a lifetime of disbelief and cynicism so she has developed this teacher persona that encourages pupils to idolise her and hang on her every word. She is portrayed as quite pathetic and it’s interesting in terms of how pivotal she actually is in terms of the whole story.

2nd box in row that has been lackluster for me...this is my 3rd box. Nothing really felt magical in this box. Plus, the stag came with broken antlers, and the potion was leaking...

Trewlony's prediction actually came true! There were 13 people before Trewlony entered (Scabbers was there), and Dumbledore rose first, and he was the first to die

Luna is a year younger, Harry and her didn't have any classes together, she didn't play quidditch so Harry may possibly didn't see or notice her at all

Lupin was the same age as Snape there - 33 years old :)

The patronus is not a bloody deer for once! I like the phoenix. I was just defending DD today on a list, where people expect him to do everything like a god just because he is a powerful wizard, but he can't save everyone all the time. I told them that no one consideres all that he did do while griping about what he did not in their eyes. He had the Ministry working against him for so long really and he was the only one standing against Voldemort but to so many the man can't do anything right. Okay Albus rant over, but I knew you'd get it. lol. Bella L

I was thinking about Matt's comment about why people fear Lucius, I wonder if it's on top of money and power, because he seems to be very connected to powerful people, if it was also because he was a death eater... When he gets Dumbledore temporarily removed as headmaster, he says something like the committee members thought they and their families would be threatened if they didn't side with him.

Dumbledore took the cloack from James when they were hiding from Voldy, not when James was at school. And after he couldn't return it because James already died

Another tip for insiders rewards points, you can upload a Target receipt to your Lego account and they will give you points for purchases at Target. Love Lego! I find it very relaxing and entertaining, but I blow through them and the cost can be overwhelming when you want them all! 😅

So I like the black lipstick. I would either look amazing in it or very bad. I don't enjoy make p and it breaks my skin out. I do have fantastic skin and my dermatologist says it's largely due to not mucking it up with makeup and also using sunblock and a wide witchy hat when out in the sun.But lipstick isn't going to ruin my skin so I may have to try it. I usually do silver or green polish cause Slytherin, but I do rock black nails from time to time. And yes for wearing all black, it's a thing. Someties I toss in silver, red or green but yeah, black rules. Bella L

I sadly must be square as discord and I do not get on, it is not user friendly. lol. Roddy has a Buckbeak from universal but his doesn't end, it's big, very pretty and the beak curves nicely with fluffy wings and tail and I think the chest. He stands up fine without bending probably due to size. I didn't think of the doll's eye but eu spooky. Good point and spooky! I love my 10 inch Funko Hedwig for size, and oddly the head isn't too square which is good, cause ya witch is not a fan of the giant square head. Her detail is amazing. I did not like the small funko of her, not so detailed and had the head issue. The HP plush I need is the monster book and I am going to get it soon. Maybe in June I will motivate. lol. I think they have set their standards so high that even when it's still a good box it can be disappointing. It's not my favorite box because there are so many things they could have done truer to the theme. My favorite items were the potion, portrait pin, I actually love the puffskein it's so cute on the shelf (but the attached note did take some of the magic away) I like the wand but definitely thought it was a griffin and I agree I'd like to see some lighter colors and maybe more delicate designs.

Love all the Lego buildings they make.

Hi Aubrey, I love these two sets fun builds. my portrait was Helga Hufflepuff. I get so excited two get and building Harry Potter Legos! The back of the manual has the list of all of the portraits but not the names. I have about 45 Harry Potter sets and can't wait to get more.

Those are so cute, I’m so on the fence with legos. I don’t know how I would display them once done and some of them are so expensive. I do like that this line you can buy pieces by piece over time instead of all at once.

Loved the statue, I had actually put that idea on his question post about this box, and you can push that scabbard? In more so hand holds it tighter, just slightly out at angle and it pushes in. so I was thrilled. The ring could be used with the scarf as a slide. The pin was great. Interactive print was fun and glad they put the item pics on the back of the note so I knew what to look for. Potion color was awesome. Badge was okay but I got the reference. My patronis looked like it got chewed up, they are sending replacements to some. But overall really liked the box. And the Enchanter is now a subscription. I just got on the website and ordered. Love reading it.

I’m not impressed with this one. I liked the stag statue and the pin wasn’t bad but most of that I don’t think I would keep. The print of the malfoy manor is decent as well.

I actually really liked this box. I loved the ring, the pin, the potion, the book box and I even liked the scarf which could be used as a table runner. I would love to be able to wear that ring it’s gorgeous. I also like the piertorum locomotor statue and the stag patronus. This is one box I would buy the whole thing 😍😍😍
