It use to take forever to get from Houston to New Orleans by train, anyone know if that is still the case? I took the Sunset Limited from Houston to New Orleans for a cruise and almost missed my cruise because the train was many hours late. I cant recall exactly how many but it was over 5 hours....just wondering if thats still the case in 2022.

I was raised in New Orleans and as a young child I remember crossing the Huey P Long Bridge ging to my Uncle's house 🏠 in Harahan, La. There were no trains breaking down on this Bridge.

You can always tell when you're in the South, running at 5 MPH and everything you see outside looks rusted.

Nice to see the old traffic lanes, yes 2, and the new ramps and lanes. Never been across after the expansion. Great video, will be historical one day.

I've driven across this bridge by car 30 years ago.. scary as hell with a big train on it. You can feel the bridge move! It shakes and sways.

10 cars, 2 dash 8’s at 3,200 horsepower (trailing unit lost 1,000 for HEP). Amtrak’s Dash 8’s have proved that day that although they are underpowered, they are still tough enough to get the job done.
