@@jordanmoore4 for me it is. When I plan to cook the fish whole this is the method I use. If the target is getting fillets then I don’t bother gutting the fish this way.

@@findinghumorthruitall you don’t set the hook on a fish run in freshwater. You let the fish swim with the bait until it swallows it and then you set the hook.
