Clipping a Pedal will result in PAIN on Kenny Creek Trail

Kenny Creek is a trail in Bountiful, UT. It demands you pay attention to where your pedals are at all times for sure. Tight with roots and rocks on both sides. Great adventure if you're looking for something new to ride.

I like adventure
So, after a summer of riding, still happy with the Instinct? did you end up modifying it or finding a perferred set up? Thanks
Yeah I love that bike, not sure if you saw the other comments but when I bought it I swapped the front fork to lyrik ultimate and the rear was the super deluxe. I run pretty high pressures in the rear about 20% sag because that bike loves to sit low in the travel. Love the transmission for shifting. That bike just pedals so damn good and corners better than any bike I’ve been on. I’d definitely buy it again if I was in the market. I’ll be doing a long term review on it soon so keep your eyes peeled. Thanks for watching.
@ : thanks for the reply and set up parameters . Looking forward to the long term review!
@@MrAntoniovine oh and I also run the Ride 4 flip chip system in position 4. I was clipping pedals a lot in position 1 although I run less sag now so maybe I could try 2 or 3 but I felt 4 feels the best for what I was running.
@@AdventuresWithClair ok thanks. I just bought this bike and I’m finding the same (but haven’t really had much riding). And I assume short chain stay?
@MrAntoniovine I have to do the longer chain because I’m running sram transmission. Can’t run the shorter with it.
Nice video, keep up the good work!
Thanks buddy!!!
New mic is great
Can't agree more, thanks for the feedback.
Wow 😮👍🏻
Thanks 🙏
The DJI mic 2 catches ALL the sounds of the trail and bike, but your voice comes through pretty well. I think your talking is much funnier and more interesting than just music. 😄
Thanks
So what's the coldest temps you've used these comfortably? With thicker gloves, would they work down to 0 F?
I’ve had them down to about 12 degrees which is 20 degrees below the freeze point and they were plenty warm, I’ve never been riding in that cold of weather. They do have an extreme version I think for super cold areas but I bet they are good well below 0.
@@AdventuresWithClair Thank you for the feedback! I think these will work well for me. I have very warm thick gloves that I can use with a pogie for the really cold days which get around 0 F. I have friends that have the warmer 45NRTH CobraFist version but they have issues with their hands getting hot even in very cold temps so I think they are overkill for me as I have pretty decent circulation. Going to give these Draugenklaw pogies a try.
They give good light and visibility but are not waterproof even though they says it. Try riding in heavy rain for a couple of hours. I have had one Detour and two Evo and all three got water inside them. Otherwise they're the best on the market IMHO.
I’ve ridden in light rain and snow never an issue but never heavy rain. I hate riding soaked. Thanks for the info.
Good to know. Thank!
Do you leave your rack in your truck year round? I’m curious how well these will hold up to the elements over time. Any rusting or fading?
Yeah, it lives in my truck all year. I also fat bike in the winter and carry my fat bike around in the snow. I do use an anti rust spray on the threads where you adjust for tire sizes. No noticeable rusting anywhere on it. They do a pretty good job at whatever they paint or powder coat this with.
It is sold as an offroading trailer. Have you used it on any high clearance spots ? Would you purchase this again ?
My buddy has the survival series version and his has the upgraded suspension with the lift, if you’re worried about high clearance that’s probably the better option. I have never had any issues with clearance and I’m more limited by my F150 than the trailer. I’ve taken it places I worried about my truck getting stuck but never my trailer. It does fantastic. I’d definitely buy it again and plan to keep it for the long haul unless Rog wants to let me try a newer version at some point and swap me out. 😂 my dreams.
I never liked the hangover, think it sucks imo They trail Evo is excellent, and I purposely try and test more inexpensive lights to see if anything compares or atleast has a good power to performance $ ratio (which I have found) Outbounds new portal will make an awesome combo to their EVO or even the new Full on Lighting MB6 (think Evo on steroids)
I just got the portal yesterday, excited to try it out. Going to get a comparison video going soon with some side by side.
@AdventuresWithClair awesome, I plan to snag one during the black Friday discount I just know it's marketed as a medium width beam(Evo wide, hangover narrow) and that it has about 60% more throw(not sure if Danger was comparing that to the Evo or the hangover)
Thanks for the info good sir!
@@AdventuresWithClair How is it?
It’s amazing, much brighter and wider beam and the battery lasts longer than I can pedal at night. 3 hours at least on adaptive mode. Full review coming after I get a bit more use out of it.
Nice gadget 👍🏻
Thanks I think so too!!!
That what me and all my friends have for night rides. Love them!
I just ordered the new Portal one for my helmet. Brighter and longer battery life. Can’t wait.
Good, helpful video, I am gonna look into this product. Thanks. Also, I love the opening footage at the Farm!
Good catch, doing some laps.
I think the direction depends on where you are trying to go. Starting on the Mule's Ear side, then hooking up with Longer Loop via bicentennial on the North side provides a fun ride! If you are trying to hit Spork, starting on the Bicentennial side makes sense. NF is amazing, as there are so many good loop options!
Definitely good info thanks 👍
Never ridden that trail, I only explored a little bit of it where by the junction of Maple Syrup. Janky, loose and steep for sure. Great video!
Thanks 👍
@@AdventuresWithClair Your videos are SO good!
Its a pretty brutal climb getting up to that trail right now isn't it?
It’s not bad at all for this portion but the whole trail is for sure. 1400 ft. of elevation in about 4.5 miles of you tie in from the new bountiful trails.
Oh my, those would be some death stairs for me...😂 I like to hike, but it has been a while since I've done that. I am very accident prone.
Yeah, watch your steps for sure. No guard rails. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the review. They really are great. Trail engineers did a fantastic job. Peregrin (sp?) and Maple Syrup are relatively new and also really good. And... if you are still in the area, head up to North Fork in Eden and ride the new Moose Tracks trail.
Yep, I live here so I’ve done all those. Most I have videos already posted on my channel for. Thanks for watching.
Such a fun new trail!
I agree ☝️
Just rode it today! That one muddy corner was the only spot that was not prime. Super fun trail, and should alleviate a lot of the downhill traffic on Mueller proper!
Yeah it’s going to be amazing for everyone, now if we can just get the land argument settled so we can get up to the jump trails on the northern side that will be The trifecta.
Looks like some fun trails! Where do you park to access these trails. Never ridden anything north of SLC.

Where does 304 start? On the way to maple syrup?
@kazak4x4 Mueller Park? Just trying to figure out how to get to this trail. I started thinking it was part of the trails where Twist and Shout are located. Nothing on Trailforks, that I can find.
@@chameleonpogono I assume it’s the trail head by the elephant rock on mueller park. Not sure though, nothing on mtbproject either
@@AdventuresWithClair Awesome! Thank you
Can we please stop exploiting every last good thing left, please. Just go ride. 🫤
I ride all the time, never loose sleep over sharing new trails.
Heck Yeah Buddy! 🤙
Thanks for watching.
That’s awesome!
The Tim Show!!!
Are they noisy
All depends on your pads like every brake. Also how you take care of them, contamination etc. That being said I don’t think they are the same as any of my brakes.
I think the Mavens would be best suited on heavy cargo bikes . the large calipers and surface area of the pads should greatly enhance stopping power under heavy loads ?
Yeah I bet they would work great on those although expensive for a cargo bike.
This one looks like a bit of an adrenaline rush.
Definitely 👍
Such a rad zone 🤫😋
@LEGENDofBEANY heck yeah 👍
Yo I rode this and it’s lit
I agree ☝️
Fun area. I rode there 3, or so, years ago. I thought they closed the trails to everyone except for those living there. Good to know they didn't. The other downhill trails there are pretty fun, from what I remember.
Yeah those videos will be posting this week.
Looks like a fun trail! I have never been to that area.
Bring your climbing legs and go early there isn’t tons of shade. Some but not tons, it’s definitely worth it though. Something very different and fun.
Sh&tmano people are sure defensive
Some people are very passionate about their brands. I think it could go both ways though.
I love mine too
Nice which build did you get?
Good call on the Instinct, my friend. Welcome to the club.
Thanks

Thanks, that means a lot.
Can you go to Woodward please ❤
I’ll get up there next spring I don’t think I’ll be able to squeeze it in before it closes for season.
where is the tech man, only boring flow trails are created in Utah, I wonder why everyone does even need more than 120mm of travel suspension for those trails...
Utah can be amazing and lame. But every state is its own animal.
I have and it was super dusty 😢😅
Guess I got it on a better day, didn’t feel too bad when I was there.
@@AdventuresWithClair this was just on Sunday after going up then down Pincone. Still super fun though!
@LEGENDofBEANY Nice!!! 👍 good to hear people having fun out there and getting after it!
@@AdventuresWithClair time to get it in before the weather changes and we lose daylight! 😀
That one looks fun!
It’s pretty awesome, we should get you back on the bike now you’re done with kids 😂
Whee!
Heck yeah!!!
You are sending it on that nasty terrain. Great riding!
Thanks, I like to think so. I watch a lot of pro MTB riders and I always feel so slow. It’s amazing what the top 1% riders can do compared to your average shredder.
@@AdventuresWithClair Also what a dream ride with the views, stunning. Cool video thanks for sharing.
Awesome video. This trail has way too many pedal grabbers. In my opinion they didn't do a good enough job removing trees and stumps on the edge of the trail. Broke 2 ribs last year. Any idea who built the trail? Definitely not the crew that's been building all the new stuff above.
Yeah this is a hand cut trail for sure. I’ve almost clipped a pedal or two myself. Hopefully you recovered well.

Brian, You talk like someone who owns a bike that has a kickstand.
Neat steady cam giving us a nice clear central viewpoint. Very cool bro
Thanks my man!!!
I have a 2023 Instinct carbon and it is the best bike I've ever owned after 20+ years on Stumpjumpers and Enduros. The bike is fast, playful, and silent on the trail.
It’s awesome, sweet to hear my man!!!
@@AdventuresWithClair Did you get an Instinct? Looking at where you ride , maybe a 2023 Altitude would be your match. Jenson had great deals on them, and they pedal almost like the Instinct. They had the same frame until this year. With different linkage from Rocky, it is possible to make an Instinct into an Altitude.
I did get the instinct but I put a 160 on the front so it’s a bit more capable. I have the big bike for the really big stuff already.
Great Video Clair! Both directions are good for different reasons. I think overall I like the odd days best. The optional drops, and features make this trail a hoot! The parking lot can be VERY busy yet you don't run into that many people on this trail due to the directional nature. LOVE this trail and the North Fork area.
You are definitely correct, thanks for watching and supporting the channel.
Can´t fully agree! They are a little bit stronger then other Sram Brakes before, otherwise they suck like every other Sram Brake before, plus the HS2 Rotors have awful self cleaning in my Opinion, from time to time, again and again there is always something grinding when braking...
Thanks for the feedback, what’s your brake of choice?
@@AdventuresWithClair brake of choice? for sure Shimano!
Nice to know, I feel a lot of things are personal preference and what we consider good vs bad. Thanks for your feedback.
@@AdventuresWithClair This have nothing with personal preferences to do!
I'll invite any brake that I don't have to crush to get them to lock the tire. I've only tried Shimano and SRAM (not maven) so far, but they all require so much hand force to keep them braking heavily. Maybe I'm just used to supermoto and moto brakes, but I can easily loop my 145lb supermoto with far less force than I use on a normal ride on my MTB. Why all mtb brakes suck I don't know, some companies should really take some inspiration from the rest of the 2 wheel market in lever feel, lever adjustments, and brake power.
Nice this would probably work in a cargo van
It definitely would, awesome setup for a cargo van.
