I'm genuinely amazed how the people of Derry survived the neo nazi unionist establishment.. Mon the Free Derry
I was born in 1950 in the Brandywell. Thank God I had a wonderful childhood there and in Cable St. We had good ,decent neighbours ,especially the Murray's . We had Meehan's park in front of our home in Cable St where my younger sister played every day. When I grew up I could go to the dance hall in Muff ,Co Donegal on Friday nights by bus. When I was left off the bus in Patrick St; I could walk home without any free what so ever. Our back door was forever unlocked but God rest my beautiful mother ,she never went to bed until we were all home. Derry was such a safe place to live then.
🥰🥰
R.I.P. Robbie Carlin . I miss your contributions and your intellect.

John King Hi John I was born in the old city &county hospital, we lived in Marlboro road Rosemount until moving to the new Creggan estate I would think about 1954 ish. I remember starting school when I was 5...left Derry late 60s and still love going back..
@@dermotmcglinchey282 My mum was born in 5 Eastway Rd in Sept 1958 and lived in Thomas St, then up to Creggan in 1966.
I was born in Derry/Londonderry in 1947 and lived there until 1969. This film is so nostalgic.
@john moore You call it what you want. Tis LONDONDERRY to be sure. No surrender. Jim Simpson.
Aye the planters and their descendants ie: those not from here call it Londonderry, us native Irish from here know it as Derry!
