as one who practices kenjutsu Japanese sword fighting i can tell you that the blade geometry is of shinogi zukuri the most standard blade type among katanas and if your blade chips by hitting wood and its t10 steel then its not been tempered right because t10 is a very well used steel when it comes to the blades of reproduction katanas its not that far off from 1095 steel its american counter part you could say even though 1095 was created first and predates t10 by i think around 30 years or so and i also practice hema as well mostly messer fighting and if you want you can check out my cutting footage on my Chanel outlaw samurai 47 just thought id share some knowledge from the katana side of the sword community im glad i got your review in my feed my friend

I made one as well and holy shit, wore that thing through almost the entirety of winter without needing anything else. People said I looked like a monk but I didnt care. It was SOOOO much better than a normal coat in almost all ways. If I had added some zippers/buttons it would have fixed almost all of rhe problems. My favorite part was that when ur in the car you can just sit down and flip the sides over the back of the seat instead of taking it off and then if youre cold while driving you can just flip them back much safer than puttin on a coat while driving

Ive also seen people show where the bladw touches the thicker meatier part of the hand as opposed to the fingers. This area is where swordsman develop calluses too so the skin would be more durable to any damage from the blade. You also need to slide with the sword to cut it in that state, so youre really only in danger if someone managed to pull it out if your hands. (You could just let go in that case or move one hand to the handle)

so they send a katana to a someone who's focus is european swords for a review, wow KoA!? And it shows. This is nothing less than a commercial. Homeboy got free $385 katana for a review, mind you he's really strugglin to name parts of the katana and saya or how to say them. Couldnt do a lil research, a lil effort.
