Hi :)
Alice in Chains, Layne Staley last show (Kemper Arena, 1993, Audio Updated)
Wanted to bring some vocal presence forward in the set from Layne Staleys final show. Been on a bit of an AIC buzz recently, and I did this for myself, but wanted to share it :)

- Reupload, as I found a video with desk audio by @UnreleasedOriginal ! It was a tad too isolated so I blended it with the fixed audio source from the crowd to give the vocals some more weight while retaining that "in the audience" feeling. Color corrected by @constantmethodacting , go subscribe to him!! It's folk like them who keep Elliott's music alive. So, thank you!! This video ain't moneti...

Original video: ua-cam.com/video/LaFsNMepXHM/v-deo.html&ab_channel=Frodisboy I DO NOT OWN RIGHTS TO THIS MATERIAL. I love Nick Drake, and wanted to clean up this live performance. I tried to bring up some of the guitar clarity, and voice intelligibility, which was hidden behind some hiss (sacrilege to remove hiss, I know I know, but it was the only way I could bring up vocal clarity to my limit...

Elliott Smith - Don't Think Twice (Bob Dylan Cover)

This is a reupload of the original file already up on youtube, however, I've taken to it surgically and tried to bring back some of the clarity in the vocals. The clipping was simply hidden under the mud, and the high hiss is from ramping up the 4khz frequencies to bring some clarity and air back in. Not perfect by any means, but now it's slightly more audible. The Elliott Smith community has b...
appreciate this so much. I am the girl in white to the right of the mic stand after Joel with the emo hair flip
18:14 elliott hitting the bottle on his guitar neck is so real
Love how Elliott Fullam was able to watch this live before he was ever born

And to think it's been 21 years since you died. RIP, dear.
this has to be my favorite live ever! The super low warm tuning and great setlist
better than the beatles
Thank you so much for this, really appreciate a lot of the videos on your account
@@monkeyshitstorm thank you! Elliott was lightning in a bottle
This version of alphabet town is so good
Such a clean performance. It's a shame he wasn't plugged into a mixer, his playing is pristine here.
Fucking hell… what a wonderful human being. I’m killing myself tomorrow, but one of the people that has kept me from it so far, at least for the last 20 years, was Elliott. Nobody can keep a person from their ultimate fate. I’m sorry everybody, and it sucks that I didn’t provide you with anything worthwhile. Bye.
Rip
i hope that you’re doing well, wherever you are.
I miss u❤
Thank you 🎉
Elliott and Neal Casal both got fucked by the record companies!
Being hailed as the next elliott smith..theyre great..ua-cam.com/video/7m5eLCfLMCo/v-deo.htmlsi=Lv9q0sViCe-9ndA4
Sorry but there is no "next elliott smith." Also please stop promoting music in youtube comments, it's not a god look.
@@C-Llama it's a turn of phrase that was used by a very popular music magazine..I thought it might b of interest to Elliott's fans,I'm not promoting..I just follow music..old and new..but as they say, haters b hatin..
this is my favorite live version of angeles
Thank you so much for posting this
Oh my God, this is heart wrenching
me pone la piel de gallina!! amo a Elliott Smith
I cried. I miss him so much. ❤
just can't stop crying.
I’m sorry. For what it’s worth, I can’t either.
i’ve been listening to a lot of elliott smith lately and it’s so insane watching these old performances recorded on really bad cameras, makes him feel even more interesting
The faces of the audience are amazing. Witnessing something pure and traveled. ua-cam.com/video/VM9MR8_DvZ8/v-deo.htmlsi=K5k_JikpLLouHWdw&start=504
I think this is Elliott's best performance that I've seen, even though I don't have a lot of knowledge.
I think about this performance every day, every hour, every minute, and every second.
so many bangers in such a short time
He played my favorite song. I love alphabet town. Even though there is no harmonica here, he sings and plays so beautifully that I can hear it anyway. Does anybody know if there is a presentation where someone plays it? Anyways thanks for sharing and greetings to all Elliott smith fans
fuckin killin it.
My man ran for the phone so fast
Any tabs for say yes?
11:15 the guy who only let that phone ring one time 🙇♂️ 🙏
I just noticed it and came looking for this comment
This is best one I’ve heard Can you believe people got to see this….thats the craziest thing. Looks like he’s just at some coffee shop or something. I swear these live performances are better than the recordings
It was a small record shop in San Francisco, I understand the sentiment though, such a huge talent in a small, and intimate place
I wish I'd seen him at least once in this life
Same
This was recorded on my 7th Birthday! I wish I could’ve had a chance to see Elliot play. He was so skilled & his music so bittersweet/ emotive makes so much sense to me. I still enjoy it
pure magic
He was the realist dude. One of the only musicians I can really nail that fully cared about getting his music out there over wanting fame. RIP brother.
I find his music just okay, but his drive is what makes me want to listen. I can feel his soul through his music.
@kane00000 'just okay' ? Ugh.. why did you feel the need to include that part? Sounds weird when everything you said about elliot was in high praises and you just go, 'ehh, nothing special'
@@kane00000how can you feel his soul through his music when its just mediocre as you put it?
@@splatformz It is just my personal preference. I already said I loved the guy. I really like his music but I find it a bit hard to get into sometimes. I think he is just great and I wish we would have been able to experience more of him because he left while he was in his prime.
Sounds amazing, great job with the mix!
Great job with the color grade!! Love ya work!
How cute is that little wave at 11:50!? He was such a sweetheart! Ugh, why do kind, gentle people like him die young, while heartless, selfish people like Newt Gingrich and Mitch McConnell are still stinking up the earth in their 80s!
Difference of upbringings, elliott lead a turbulent life stemming from childhood trauma while corrupt politicians often lead easy lives
Best version of Say Yes
Yeah I've never heard a better version. Vocals are great.
need this version on spotify
what tuning is he in?
It sounds like d tuning with maybe the E string tuned a half a step lower than the other strings?
D standard
22:24 my hand don't move like that . . .
Oh Eliott. forever sobbing at say less.
i must be half of these views
Thank you for watching, friend :)
@@Barryislarge of course, love him and thank you for uploading such an amazing video.
I'm the other half :D
What guitar is he playing?
I believe its a yamaha dreadnought
Hello crime documentary buff! A new story is waiting for you. Don't miss the details and mystery-filled narration. I'm looking forward to your comments. Enjoy the show!
what if there are more "elliotts" in the 2020s but the only thing is that no one knows about them (of course there are...) damn.
There are for sure, Adrianne lenker is someone i found out about recently
Adrianne Lenker reminds me so much of Elliott Smith. She is so smart and an amazing guitar player and lyricist but so incredibly humble. I miss Elliott so much and I’m so grateful to have Adrianne Lenker in the world!
this show captures it all for me. on one hand i can imagine walking in and being unimpressed at another open mic. he's not chipper at all, kinda bums me out. and another part of me recognizing that I'll spend the next 30 years obsessing over just about every song he played. the heroes don't always wear capes sort of thing. thanks for sharing the video.
We makin’ it outta Hawaii with this one lads!
Touché
the performance of Alameda is so fucking amazing holy shit
I think it's honestly the best version recorded ever
@@urban4151 I totally agree. It made me see the song in a whole new light tbh.
Wholeheartedly agree. Also let's you sing the back up vocals independently which is dope
