Microchip spec sheet confusion
I needed to check a spec sheet for a Microchip microprocessor recently and was surprised how confusing the writing was. I'm posting this video to shed light on a problem that is wasting a huge amount of engineering time - and a providing a path to how this can be corrected.
Just after putting the video together I needed to check cap values for the CPU crystal and found that description virtually unintelligible as well.
I like Microchip products but I wish they would get it together with the docs.

Easy way to flip eggs

Tossing eggs up in the air is not as easy as it looks based on my experience and the messes I created. And spatulas don't work well for me. So I came up with this method which is easy and reliable.

Pull wire R/C connection
Переглядів 17 тис.6 років тому
I go over some techniques for attaching a thin pull wire between servos and R/C control surfaces. I show a clean strong method that requires no adhesives or solder and is detachable for repairs. In one version I replaced the wire link with a screw thru the loop but that created hysteresis so I recommend the wire links shown. Here's how to get the wire length right. 1) Twist one end first and at...
Longshot DLG for review by Pierre

This is my 3rd outing with the Longshot DLG. Still only getting ~20m. For review by Pierre. I see my technique is not consistent. And when I am in the field, most of what I learned, from Pierre's videos, is not in my mind.

How to make a trash can raccoon proof
You had me for a minute thinking otherwise but kool method. What's the Blue light?
🗣️This man wathed UA-cam 16 years ago RESPECT+++++++++
Instead of heating up a razor seems to me to be easier to use a small drill bit to get it started and then use a small saw blade. Or simply use the drill and then cut with the blade. I will use your idea but change it slightly. Going to order Deck loops and screw them with a nut and bolt to the sides on the outside. This way I only need to drill 2 holes each . Just a different way of doing it. Your way doesn't require buying any hardware Thanks for the video
Thanks for the review.
Hey, great video! I'm over in Rye NY and looking to get into RC sailplanes. I'm currently looking for a radio recommendation and decent prebuilt plane recommendation (too many hobbies and not enough time). I'm hoping to do a little ridge soaring at the beach this summer. Cheers, Chris
Radiomaster Zorro radio and Elf DLG are my favorites.
@@jim-lewis Thanks. I'll check them out. I haven't flown an RC glider in almost 40 years! I'm having fun with the research and all the UA-cam videos. Cheers, Chris
you can also use tiny fishing weights in a bag for ballast
Genial!👏👏👏
Which is the yo-yo in this clip? The clown or the platsic toy?
Imbecile extraordinaire.
Ok, that's genius.
I did learn something from watching this video, thsis guy is a moron.
Wow, I bet this dodo went to college to learn this.
This clown is an imbecile.
Thanks!
counting has never been so satisfying before, this is really cool
Thanks. So helpful for a novice to watch. Happy flight.
Nice video Jim! This type of flying looks so neat! I think I’m going to have to give it a try.
They're going to chew right through that fabric strap. LOL
That's what I thought. What works well is a grandchild's poopy diapers. Thankfully not a regular thing at my house. Can is going into the third car garage
Hi Jim, you are great! Where can I buy a glider like as your? Thank you.
Great video
That is a great job. I love the ease of opening it.
Do you make minor adjustments on the pull pull wire? Thanks!
What kind of adhesive did you use for the throwing blade?
Epoxy.
Thank you very informative. Step by step I'll be getting one soon
Fantastic box! Kudos
What I really want are instructions on how to get your wife to come flying with you.
Thanks for this video. What capacity battery are you using?
oh .. never mind - saw a similar QA further down. Happy flying!
💗
Tried FP in PHP. Immutable variables are not possible in php so at least I follow the rule not to change a variable unless it's a loop control variable. PHP has no local functions like C# has but it's possible to locally define an anonymous function and assign it to a functional variable. PHP has some built-in FP support like anonymous functions that can passed to functions like array_map, array_reduce, array_walk, etc. so these functions in combination with anonymous functions can be used to eliminate loops.
Alarming number of gas cans for one man.
he has some serious mileage to cover.
Very nice ! Thank you for sharing.
I took a class on functional languages and learning a new language every 2-3 weeks was harsh. It's magical how they just work without worrying about how they work. Seems like they wouldn't be well optimized for performance.
I think performance doesn't matter 90% of the time but actually some FP code is more efficient.
Great idea. I used the same type of buckle from an old dog collar.
What’s that blue light?
Same question...

Sweet method dog, I was going to say I bet your first time flipping you had to pick it up off the floor.
Thanks
Do you have a link for Amazon for the items you mentioned?
To find similar straps online search for utility strap with quick-release - there are lots of them. Mine was about 1" wide.
great video! Thanks :). Just wanted to ask which receiver you're using with your X-lite. I have historically had some trouble binding x-lite's to receivers so I want to make sure that I'm choosing a compatible receiver. Thank you kindly
FrSky G-RX6 due to altimeter. I get between 20-25m launches. I put the antennas inside the wing in a V formation. Stay away from the analogue servos - go digital. I'm using the Emax ES-9051 now with the bottom removed to make it fit. I run 1S for simplicity. I converted to music wire pull-spring controls - more durable. I probably have 500 flights or so and it's still in excellent condition.
looks tail heavy
That was instructive, thanks. I kept thinking your assistant was going to get it in the nose or the trees were going to take it.
or just put a lid on it and let the steam cook those remaining whites ... less clean up and it makes the eggs look pretty imo
Flipping is cooler
Well, not the way he does it
What size of 1s lipo did you use? Is it the turnigy nanotech 300?
350 to 380 mah but could probably use less.
Where do you buy it?
Realmente genial.
Bungee cords do the same trick ..
They chewed through my bungee cords.
Alan Granger f*** those dirty rakoons
Nope. They chew through and/or snap them off.
Nice to see your steps, tnx
I have a Longshot 3 - love it. I wish I could get it to balance with no added nose weight. I have spring pull set ups too. I used Spectra/Spiderwire fishing line - virtually weightless. Can you/do you detach your control horns when not flying so the springs don't get memory. Propably needless. Where are you from?
My music wire lines have no noticeable memory. I'm in north NJ USA.
Pretty cool video man. I am in the Bronx on this side of the GWB, been looking into getting into DLG, may have to order one.
Thank you for sharing your experience!
