Firm Roots Farm
United States
Приєднався 18 лют 2023
Firm Roots Farm is a small farm/homestead/market garden in Northwest Ohio. Our name has multiple meanings, from our firm faith in Jesus, the vegetables that we plant having roots well established (firm) in the soil, to our family roots in this Ohio region. We have a family of 10 and are striving to live a biblically-based life and at the same time becoming more self-sufficient with our food and share with our community.

WE GOT A TRACTOR!
Переглядів 3533 місяці тому
Firm Roots Farm finds a tractor! A Kubota b7800! Our family was able to buy this tractor from someone in the family. What a blessing! It was an exciting day as we haven't had a larger piece of equipment at this place since we moved here 4 years ago. We bring the Kubota b7800 home and you can see the excitement in everyone as the older kids drive it in the front yard. We are thrilled to use this...

From planting vegetables and herbs to planting berries, our family's involved all together! Jo plants her herbs with the help of her sister, Addie, the camera girl! Thad will take you around and show you some things, and so will Zane! Art will be planting berries, putting compost in the garden, and tilling up areas with the BCS. Come along with us as we all go outside to get the garden ready to...

Butchering Meat Chickens

Family processes 50 meat chickens that we raised ourselves. It's amazing that these chickens are ready in about 7-9 weeks. Some we keep and some we sell. When help is needed, it's nice to have everyone play a part in the process.

I love how she knows her flowers❤
Great work on the flowers! And impressive knowledge of each type 👍🏽
Jo did do a great job!
Aww
Wow those looked great! Those are fun family memories
I would love to spend a day and learn what you do!! This is so awesome!!
Thank you so much! Let us know if you really would like to see what all happens here and we'll set something up!
That tractor is a huge blessing and will make work on your farm much more efficient. Nice!!
I think we'll love it!
“Not brand new, used. Fiscally responsible” 😂 that’s great. Cool tractor!
I figured people would expect that! 😀
Congrats on the tractor purchase. It will be a blessing for all you guys do😊
A blessing indeed! Thanks
Tractor is a game changer for steading. Daddy is blessing y'all big time. Q: does it have the option of adding a hoe on the back? Be blessed y'all. Jesus Rules!
Hi! Blessings abound. It does have the ability to add one, yes. I'm not yet familiar with all its capabilities, but when I researched this one, others have used one on it. It's a 30HP and some implements will be pushing it, but should be enough for us. Thanks
Fantastic!!
Looks like y'all just getting the channel off the ground. I'm subbed. Be patient and it will grow. Daddy wants very much for the world to see his kids growing their own food like he intended. And He wants y'all to testify of His glory. Be blessed y'all. Jesus Rules!!!😀
Thanks for the kind words. Appreciate your support, too!
Great look at the Firm Roots Farm!
It's Cohen, not hen 🙂
Niceeee
Thanks
Great music
All Jo 😀
Niceeeeeeeee
It was amazing to see!
Awwww ❤❤❤
Awesome!
Good job keeping up on your chores!
who cares?!?!
Well, some people like to see what happens to get ready for planting. I was one of them when I first started growing, especially seeing a BCS. What would you like to see?
Benny, the calf, is super cute! Whenever I go say hi to him he runs all over the place wanting me to play with him! ❤️
Thanks for the informative video
You are welcome! Thanks for watching. We'll have to do one that is more of a step by step in detail another time to help others out.
I want one!!! So cute 😍
Its a good bonding for the kids..i love it
Thank you
Wow that's a lot of Chickens!!!!
Yeah, it is a lot! Most of them don't even have names. All of us kids love to name our animals but it's hard to find so many names and remember them all! 😂
@@Jo-farmgirl lol I bet!!!!
so happy😂
Thanks!
Happy Birthday Jolie❣
Lucky you. Here its been hot and dry no signs of rain. Every day its been over 100
We only had rain this Saturday and last, but thankful for the rain we do get, when we get it. Hang in there.
Wow . What an exciting post. Zzzzz
I was too! 😄 We got soaked! Lol
Glad you were there to help though!
Yep!
Hi yal i was there lol
Happy Birthday! Big 5
Happy birthday little brother! 👍❤️
How did you get the roosters to crow on cue like that during the video!? 😁
Careful training and care! 😀
I have a strong belief that carrots are grown by witchcraft as I can’t get them to germinate lol😅
Thanks for making us smile. Here's a tip for germinating...once seeded, water well and then place a silage tarp or something similar (white side up) on top for about 5-7 days, this will really get good germination. Of course, starting with a weed seed free area is best.
It looks like you have your meat chickens again. It would be fun to see them full sized compared to the little chicks they started out as!
I'm sure we can make that happen
Great video Jolie!
Love the music.
Nice! Great job Dad! 👍🏻🙂
Thanks! 👍
Are y'all interest ed in renting out a lot
Possibly. What do you have in mind?
Cute! Still thinking of a name for the black chick. The two other chicks have names or at least one does. 🐥
What about Pepper or Peppercorn?
@@firmrootsfarm They are great ideas! Thanks Dad!
Great stuff! It's fun to see updates from the Farm!
Thanks!
Wow! So cool, the pigs look adorable! 💗
Definitely are!
We went ahead and put a tarp next to our old garden with the intent of doubling it this year.
Awesome! You'll have to keep us updated on how it goes. You are leading the way and planning ahead, keep it up.
Great video! I was surprised that although small, the micro greens seeds are much larger than I imagined. I guess I was thinking micro greens come from micro seeds! Thanks again for the info!
Thanks! Microgreen seeds and regular seeds are essentially the same, with microgreen seeds being selected for quick germination and quality in the seed and handling. We use non-gmo or organic specific seeds so we know that they are not sprayed or coated with chemicals on them.
This is great! Keep up the amazing work!!! Can’t wait to get my hands on some at the Bluffton Farmers Market
Thanks, Rebecca!
