Greetings all. I recently asked a question regarding the number of chilling hours you guys can count on in winter, but I posted it on an older video meaning that you may not have seen the question. I'm trying to determine if I get enough chilling hours for Spring Satin Plum (Plumcot) to bloom properly in my climate near Savannah GA. Your tree obviously got enough chilling hours to bloom, and since you have a banana tree which made something, the number of chilling hours you get may be really low as well. If you know the number of chilling hours you can count on, that would be awesome information. If not, I can figure it out through meteorological data if you share what state and county you are in. Thanks.

Greetings, I grow plums in SE Georgia. I'm thinking of getting Spring Satin but am seeing mixed reviews on whether I would get enough chilling hours for it to bloom or not here in SE Georgia (Statesboro, near Savannah). Yours is blooming, and from the looks of your surroundings, you are in a nine hardiness zone I'm guessing. About how many chilling hours can you count on? What city are you near, so I can calculate it if you don't know. My guess is that a wild chickasaw plum that blooms with it will pollinize it. I sell scion for strains that would pollinize it. The tree needs to be pruned anyway. While you are pruning it when buds really begin to swell, you can graft a couple of pollinizers into branches. Thanks. Marcus

Have you ever tried tuning your Guild 12 string to C sharp (one and a half step lower from E standard)? That is usually where Leo Kottke tuned his 12 strings and lately I tuned my Guild 12 string to C sharp.

I got a Lucero150SCE that had been repaired of a small back side ordinary break by a luthier and he set it up well and sold it in a padded Ortega case VERY cheap, I had owned a real classical of all solid woods long ago and a Portugal-made C5 from Cordoba. For the very cheap price Luceros are very nice guitars....

You' re right the tone on the S6 is insane. I was very lucky to buy one for a silly price. So pleased with it. Apparatently there is a problem with the neck if you need to reset it as they are glued with epoxy, this is if its 2006 and after.

That Schecter looks Nice 😃 I have Charvels, Jacksons, Ibanez, Fender, Gibson, PRS… but no Schecter 🤷‍♂️ I’ve heard a lot of good things about Schecter and will have to look into one 🙂

Schecter! I got the Schecter Damien FR-S last week and Friday I will get the C-1 Platinum FR-S. They play amazing!

Schecter is a banger. If you don't mind used, you can get em for a steal used.

For that price i think Chapmans have the better specs since you are getting stainless steel frets, epiphones have the worst fret wire in that price range by far. Expect any guitar to need a fret level and proper set up, you can buy the gear to do it for 2/3 hours of tech labour costs, so its worth doing yourself and learning.

The only people that have trouble with Edge trems are people that shouldnt touch a screwdriver. You want a shredder and the best quality for your dollar. Get a RG550. Japanese quality at half the price. I have 6 ibanez's(one is the RG550). 3 with a edge trem. And i grab them and play. Rarely have to tune

Theres a problem you will face, when you bury compost, it releases sewer gases, compost Always belongs on Top of the soil, buried compost is ok for about 3-6 months, however after that, water and oxygen that seeps into the composted soil will be used up in the composition process which will then deplete the soil of oxygen and the sewer gases will build up causing many plants to die. Root rot will set in, the plants will get weak and die. There are exceptions to this, some plants like tomatoes are particularly resilient to root rot, some pumpkins can be grown in composted soil. Remember this rule, soil is sand, silt and clay, soil is the home of the roots, in nature dead plant matter build up on top of the soil and fungi will eat it and transfer it to the roots they attach themselves too. Theres even more to it than this, but All plants thrive in nature, nature’s way. Cheers for trying.

Of course the more a solid top acoustic guitar like that Seagull S6 is played, the better it will sound. Keeping it in a case does it a disservice and won’t bring out its potential full sound qualities. It’s made to be played and is not a museum piece.

I also have an Epiphone 3 pick-up Black Beauty. It’s made in Unsung, Korea in April 2012. I bought it brand new in Jan 2013. I love it. It ushered in 3 more Epiphone Les Pauls that same year. I removed the stock pickups and put in Gibson USA 57s and 490R in the middle. Mine has an Ebony fretboard. Did I say, I love it?

I have the Epiphone version and it is a warm sound that can be bass heavy with my amp. Yes it requires different EQ settings compared to other LP types and obviously single-coil guitars.

Neck pickup looks out of alignment.

Long comment deleted cause I goofed. I have one, took time to get used to it. Ive run it through all my amps (5) and it sounds different through each. Glenn Fricker (youtube #SpectreSoundStudios ) did a sound comparison through various cones and found speakers do make a difference. Just food for thought. I love mine, but heard another say it was very dark. I dunno...to each his own. It fits the vibe I hoped for it. But I like all 10 of my varying guitars. Three S types two LP types and a 335 type plus 4 acoustics. Each is different in how they feel and they make me play differently wgich opens up a whole plethora of styles I can explore. It sounds like your pickup height might be too high. The magnets may be pulling the strings out of tune.
