😂😂😂 thats a good measure of how long you need to mix for
Making these for the Coronation. Made a normal sized one for the Platinum Jubilee last year, so thought to give these mini ones a go.
This is so wonderful to hear! I hope you enjoyed making them. Thank you for dropping me a note, it's great to know people are baking along with my content!
@Bake Well Being I made them. The preserve I used was a blackcurrant jam and the results were great. Got out 12 exactly. Had 2 at my local Coronation picnic event today :)
@@DarthCoco this is wonderful news! Thank you so much for sharing with me, it really makes my day. Really glad you enjoyed them!
what baking butter do you use please?
I use the brand Stork but you can find many alternatives if you look for margarine butter. Hope this is helpful, enjoy the bake!
No almond extract in the frangipani mix?
As there's ground almonds in the frangipane I feel that it doesn't need extra almond extract but you absolutely add drop it you fancy!
@@bakewellbeing I do! I love almond taste x .....a lovely recipe, I made some today ☺️
This looks lovely. Did u use the Ikea roasting tray?
Thank you so much! I sure did 😁
Very impressed. Great Presentation....
Thanks so much for leaving a lovely comment! Have a great day
I made an almond cake the other day and wanted to make the bakewell icing. I failed miserably unfortunately 😂 but now I know how to make the icing, I'll be sure to give this a try soon. Thanks for the vid
Ahhh the trail and error is always part of the fun! Thanks so much for your kind words. I hope the video helps <3
To much sugar ,to much eggs ,no healthy for me ❤️
Too much eggs? That's a lot of butter and flour. Of course you need a good amount of eggs for that batter but the sugar can be adjusted. You can reduce it to 240 - 250. If that's still sweet from you, I suggest making cloud cakes. Many recipes out there for that.
Making these to go with an afternoon tea to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee 😋
This is so lovely to hear! Enjoy!
Can I use regular granulated sugar? Also is it safe to assume your oven temp is in Celsius?
Hey Theo, you can use granulated sugar if you can't get your hands on caster sugar but it might make the sponge a bit denser and less fluffy, though definitely worth a try and let me know how it turns out! If you have a food processor or blender you can also break the granulated sugar down in that to make it a bit finer to get a closer result to caster sugar. And yes my oven is Celsius! Thanks for stopping by!
Who put baking powder in Brownies, that's why this rises up, and became cake not brownies.
I like my brownies fluffy😊 you can make yours however you like them!
Hello just wondered will they freeze ok?
Hey! Thanks for dropping by. Yes - I have frozen the buttercream and sponge separately before and it has worked perfectly. Not sure about the jam but I expect that should be fine too! I hope you enjoy making them
@@bakewellbeing Hi just to let you know I froze them complete and they tasted just as good.
Amazing Cousin! It’s so relaxing xx
I saw this on my friend’s recommended and had to look up the video it looked so good!
Thanks so much for watching and for your lovely comment! It's made my day :) Happy Baking!
Totally agree with your words! When will you post new videos? Congrats from Italy ☺
Thank you so much Alessandra! That really means a lot <3
I'm going to make this for Christmas day, better have a practice run first though lol xxx
Awh that's a great idea! A practice is always helpful, twice the opportunity to treat yourself that way! I hope you enjoy the bake xx
Just discovered you, I love your recipes thankyou, look forward to future tutorials x
Thanks so much for the message Lindsay and Jack! It's made my day :) Will hopefully be bringing monthly baking tutorials back in 2022! Keep an eye out x
Is 180 for fan oven ?
Hey, it is indeed! :)
Im really enjoy listening to you.
That's wonderful to hear. Thank you for commenting :)
Instead of cutting the large sponge in half would it not be better to use the cutter then half it. Thanks
Hi Thomas, you can definitely do it that way too! I just find the sponge, before being sliced in half, is sometimes a bit too thick for my cutter to easily manage.
Amazing. Would of been nice to see a cross section of a bakewell to see how the finished product looks inside.
Thank you so much! That's a really good idea. I will do that will my next bakes. Thanks :)
Made these for a birthday and they went down a treat!
That's so great to hear! It's such a great feeling to bake for others and to spread a bit of joy through a tasty treat!
My grandmother use to make these for Christmas, but instead of frangipane, she would use yellow cake batter infused with almond extract, raspberry jam, and vanilla buttercream frosting. She called them _maids of honour._
This is lovely! Those Maids of Honour sound delicious. Your Grandmother sounds like she was a great baker!
Great video. Looks lovely. ☺️
Thanks so much Debbie!
Simply the best. You're so lucky to have Connor and all his knowledge. I'm so excited to see your dream(s) come to fruition and to see how you take the U.K. by storm. Next stop, Bake Off or being Christina Tosi.
Thanks so much Ren! I really appreciate your kind words. I am so lucky to have Connor! I have no idea where we would be right now without him!!
Awesome video. And I 1000% agree with you. Baking and cooking are so important, not just as life skills but like you said “our mental well-being” A homemade cake or a homemade meal will mean more to someone than going out for dinner or a shop brought cake.
Thanks Simon! I'm glad you feel the same way :-)
I’ve never seen/tried ASMR but immediately found the whispering soooo relaxing, not all the sounds had same effect, but you will find something that works for you! Brilliant. 👏🏽
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Yes definitely different triggers work for different people. Thank you for watching!
I learned to whisper on a helicopter 😂 I can’t whisper to save my life. I have been up since 4am and need a good sleep. I have never understood ASMR. I don’t understand how cutting sponges makes you relax. But I am going to give it a go.
I hope it helped to open your eyes to the magic of ASMR!
Ohhh I love the sound of these. Great video as always 🙂 I will have to give these a go.
Thanks so much Simon!
I actually had one of those and it's one of the best I've ever tasted 😋
I'm so glad you liked it!
loved it Ella!!
Thank you so much ❤️
Looks so yummy!
Thank you lovely!
These look so yum, will definitely be trying!
I hope you enjoy them!!
Those brownies look delicious - and the message and aim this young lady is promoting is a worthwhile endeavour in these trying times
I’ve only just seen this lovely comment! Thank you so much, it’s made my day ❤️
Amazing as always!!
