    What particular moulding are you using, and what size?

    With the dust that will build up on that molding edge, your led’s won’t be bright for long, and will be a absolute b to clean and maintain cleanliness. Cool idea, it just needs further thought. Points for chill dude, his presentation and personality made this video.

    Will it ever drop? It doesn’t look like too sturdy with just caulk. Is it a better idea to nail it to studs?

    • @creativecrownmolding
      @creativecrownmolding 23 дні тому

      No, it should not with enough caulk on the back. I have NEVER had an issue with that in the many years of doing this and installing it. And NO, I would not nail it up. The whole point and concept is to eliminate the extra work, tools, and labor to nail, putty, sand, and prime the crown molding. Just cut, glue, install, and then paint. Keep it simple!

    When you make the third cut you said move the saw back to 45 degree but did you mean 22.5 degree to make a 45 with the two cut pieces?

    • @creativecrownmolding
      @creativecrownmolding 10 місяців тому

      Not on a tapered dead end because you are needing a total of 90 degrees with all the cuts. 22.5, 22.5, and 45= 90 deg.

      I would say certain aspects of it would but the position of the molding in the saw and cutting would primarily be with our moldings because of our flat back design.

    Very informative video for beginners. Well done. I would recommend using EPS plaster-coated covings. EPS provides a durable, water-resistant material that's still lightweight, while the plaster coating gives an attractive smooth texture. Google this company - Homemerce - if you’re based in the UK.
