I find the little 5010 great for all the places I've ridden so far... Santa Cruz did a great job on building the bike. It "hides" it's lack of travel well... It's still a 140/130mm bike... But it still feels like an enduro sled...

That... And a bit of Hope as well... I have Hope pads in them at the moment, so there is deffo some "borrowing" of design in them. But they're not a bad copy... Been running themn for the whole year and been pretty happy. Happy enough to no t want/need to change them out.

@@TrailTales First time we rode that trail I dropped it into the embankment to the ride and crashed.. Yeah, it is indeed awkward but doable if you drop it more to the left. The complete trail from start to finish is soooo good.. especially in that canyon part, that bigger stone drop before and all the jank. Always impressed that you ride it with the 5010.. Rode it with 170mm enduro and that had some hard impacts ;)

@@sprousaTM Cheers mate... We'll deffo end up giving that drop a go at some point... But the bravery and conditions all need to line up! So thanx for the tip on going more left... Will deffo check that out! Also though... That little 5010 is a MAD GOOD bike. I am constantly amazed by it. And how much jank it can absorb...

@@TrailTales Absolutely yes - such a "fresh" feeling everytime you find or ride a new trail or location 👌When i was there, i was just riding "frei Schnauze" 😄 onto the next hill and found these nice natural tracks (btw.: Haute Koenigsbourg wasn't quite correct... sry - has been the region around Ribeauville, Riquewihr and Kaysersberg - some kilometers south). Yeah... There are some "Rake and Ride" trails up there... that we need to find... I think a day of exploring in the spring is in order! :D

For sure mate... It's one of those trails that's full on the whole way down... There's no place to just take a breath... So even though it's "short"... There's a helluva lot going on!

Cjers Bruno... SMDH is a great little trail... They've just done (after this was filmed) some work on the trail as well. So it'll be good to see how that went. And I am pretty happy about getting that little gap in. Twas a good sesh... :D

It should be Darren... Really nice place. They guys there have done a really good job. And the trails have "settled" in nice. There's also a few other fun bits not to far from there as well... The HD, Mosbach... Nussloch... Beerfelden... Well worth a look-see

This is a good question.. .I have done a super sketchy "bodge bleed" on them already and that has worked out OK... But I do plan on hauling the bike round the workshop in a few weeks to get a propper bleed done... And will be able to post about how that was achieved a bit later...

Well... During the winter, the forestry agency frolliced through there with their tree felling machines and did one helluva job ripping up the trails as they selectively felled that part of the forest... The club took about 6 months to repair all the damage. They were really upset about it, as you can well imagine. Especially because they had a grant (from the lotto fund if I'm not mistaken) to build the trails there and it was somewhere around 250k down the drain... luckily they managed to gather a heap of volunteers and support and get the place up and running again.
