The GRIN ONE: First Ride and "speed" Review // Bikeländ Eberbach
At the rescent BIKELÄND EBERBACH festival, I was fortunate enough to be able to take the new GRIN BIKES - Grin ONE out for an all too short test ride.
And for those of you who are new to GRIN BIKES... Don#t worry. They're a new company based in Eberbach, Germany. And this... The Grin ONE, is thier first bike. And you can check out a couple more details about them and the bike here... www.grin-bikes.de/ and @PhilippBrunn

This - to be honest - is a really nice little bike. And I really had a good time on it. These tests/reviews are always better when given a bit more time with the bike, but that#s not always possible. And although this was just a taster - on a bike that "technically" is s pre-production model - with the first run of bikes being availible from March 2025.
Test rides are possible already... So hit the guy up to arrange one. They are a great bunch and are always keen to help out.

Hey, are you still running those iiipro brakes? How do they fare on longer descents? Thank you
Still running them - Although now I have some Hope Tech pads in there. They do fine on longer descents. I actually have had no issues with them since I put them on... Other than those pesky lever adjustment screws that occasionally need a bit of thread lock.

Bikeländ eberbach has some really great trails. It's fast becomeing one of the best MTB locations in Germany (That's not a bike park, and has legal trails). And Grin Bikes lis headquartered there. And the CatFather shirt is great... But I'm more well known for the sausage dogs I have on my gloves... Hahaha

Thanx JD... Kallies and Marc are already planning the "Grin Gang"... I'm not saying that these aren#t bood bikes... But I think their motivation stems more from the fact that they're Butt-Hurt they're not part of the Santa-Crew... Hahaha

Wondering if you could run a different caliper with them and if it would work better? Also wondering how they are bled as there’s no bleed screw on the caliper only lever 😂?
I'm currently running a set of Hope pads in mine. And they work great with them. They lack that (possibly useless but cool looking) heat sink the stock pads come with, but perforace is good. Mine are due a good bleed, so this is something I'll tackle soon and post a bit of a video about it...

You should... It'll take a BIG battery or two days to get it all done though... Unless you really wanna murder your legs. The trails are really good there though... I think you'd really enjoy them. So it'll be worth the trip.

Wow. That was one stumble down Alle Farben... 😁 tbf I had my issues there as well... imho the key sections are deffo harder than they used to be! Except for that left hand corner, I think that is actually a bit easier as there seems to be more space now... Also, Shred Flanders and Trail Data Loading... haha, awesome! 🤣 (I do believe Shred Flanders would stop at someone crashing and see if he could help though. I think the NED bit would still prevail over the SHRED bit in that case 😁)
also, wtf. Why would those dudes stop right there, and especially put their bikes RIGHT THERE...?? Just put them down like 5m onwards... I am not even annoyed, I just find it ridiculous... right at the hardest section of that whole trail! Just LOL
Hahaha... Yeah.. I made a right mess of that chute TBH... got the entry all wrong and then just fluffed my way down it. And I didn't even know someone had crashed until you got down. I was so far back the train at that point and word never made it back that far...

I almost went to a University called Heidelberg in the state of Ohio here in the U.S. Funny enough it's completely flat there, no mountain biking. Just a random thought, anyway, great video Philly.

@@hsmythi No... I don't know what type of olive and bard they use. My set did come with a spare set though... So cutting it once wouldn't be an issue... Have you tried removing the set that's already in there?

Hahaha... That little bike lives outside of it#s comfort zone... And loves it!! Yea. Still got those Ali Express brakes on. Now have some Hope pads in there and they're still working great. The gloves were a birthday gift from my brother, but you can order them from Fist. They're so RAD!

Marty and I have done this set of trails in the winter when they've been all snowed in... The second trail was just a mess of packed down snow and black ice... God it was fun! Hahaha
If your hip has more metal than your bike you should think twice about to ride a trail... 'yes m'am i was out with the boys' 😊

@@michaeltorres6109 the pads? I'm on my second set now. So.. 6 months or there abouts... the new set is a set from hope. So we'll see how those get on..
