SCX24 4WS Unimog - Dual Reefs 99 Micro servos! - Major steering upgrade and some sweet weathering!
I upgraded the 4-wheel steering on the Unimog! I installed a couple Reefs RC - 99 Micro servos for better performance and took a shot at weathering the 3D-printed Unimog body. I think the weathering turned out pretty sweet! And the servos are killer even at the lowest power level. I would 100% recommend these servos. Paired with a Furitek Unity24, this thing is unstoppable.

SCX24 6x6 - 3D-printing parts with the X1 Carbon pays off! - Part 3
Переглядів 32212 годин тому
Well, finally got the SCX24 6x6 running! I’m pushing the limits of 3D printing with my SCX24 6x6 build-printing nearly everything, even the wheels and shocks (AND springs!). I don't think there's another 6x6 anywhere in the world with this many 3D-printed parts. The X1 Carbon has really come in handy for this hobby, I should probably call this series the "X1 Carbon Build Series," the quality an...

Check out some of the parts I was able to create using my X1 Carbon 3D-printer! I'm pretty interested to get this SCX24 up and running. I wonder what the overall total cost will be? I'll be releasing all the models at the end of this build, so check back if you are interested in getting the whole collection for free. I'm not affiliated with Bambu Lab, but I would 100% recommend their printers.

For all you sexy people that read descriptions. Is it more cost effective to buy a Ready-To-Run (RTR) than build an SCX24 from the ground up? Yes, it is, but I'm going to change that. I'm building an SCX24 6x6 using as many 3d printed parts as I can model myself. Once the build is complete, I'm uploading all the 3D-printed models so that you can download them for free. Very impressive for a 3D printed project. Thanks for sharing all the little issues you are having to overcome. I have enjoyed learning along side you the issues that come with the hobby. I can't wait till I get me a printer.

      A printer has been probably the most useful tool I have added to my toolbox, not only for this hobby, but it really comes in handy for so many other things! I just use Blender to create my models, it's free and very easy to use. Just learning about 5 things in Blender and anyone could create the models I did for this build. Maybe I should do a tutorial on those 5 things. Do you have your eye on a particular printer? I was thinking about getting an A1 Mini (still Bambu Lab) to see how another type of their printers work. I am pretty confident though, that they would be amazing. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

    Sweet build, Love the idea of printing your own parts. I would think that a printed plastic spring would compress with the weight and over time build a memory to that position. I have not tried 3d printed ones, so I am excited to see your results. Cheap store bought plastic springs were a disappointment. Thanks for sharing your build. Great information!!!!

      I'll bet you are 100% correct, if the shocks even last long enough to eventually collapse down. I can tell you this, these don't feel like shocks I'd want on any build, but I have to know what that $$ savings is costing me in other areas. There are a lot of things we can test out with this build, total cost, durability, performance, weight, and probably some other stuff. I should probably build another one so we can actually compare them (and if this one implodes I'll still have one😃).

    • @KSOutdoors-PNW
      @KSOutdoors-PNW 23 дні тому

      It's a 4mm chuck on the electric screwdriver since it's for precision bits (I think it would be equivalent to 5/32) and it uses 4mm hex shank bits, the Injora 8-in-1 manual set uses a standard driver size, I believe it's 1/4-inch (6.35mm). 🤙

      I took it off road with no major mechanical issues other than what I posted. I haven't driven it on sand, but I have driven it through moderate mud, washed out roads and around 8" deep puddles/streams and it did very well. The terrain wasn't a factor in stopping it and it never seemed like it was close to getting stuck. Only the melted spark plug wire and broken exhaust were what slowed us down. I haven't had an issue since fixing it.

      Yeah it is probably the coolest go-kart I've had, it has quite a bit of power for what it is. I probably wouldn't get another one, it's a bit overpriced, but I had to see what it was all about. Nothing else has broken thankfully, but if it does we'll see how difficult replacement parts will be to get. GoPowerSports carries a lot of the parts for Trailmaster stuff and they've been pretty good to work with.

    I wonder if future orders will get a tire since they changed the product description. I'm assuming they sent you one to keep a good reputation and removed it from the description so future orders won't expect it. Also wondering what would come in the crate vs already assembled.

    • @KSOutdoors-PNW
      @KSOutdoors-PNW 6 місяців тому

      I think you're probably correct since they changed the description, but I'm impressed that they stood by what it originally said and owned up to it. We've purchased a few minibikes/gokarts from GoPowerSports and they have yet to let us down. I'm assuming everything would come in the crate with the exception of the spare tire and tire carrier. We originally planned to get it crated to post a video of it arriving and putting everything together, but for some reason with this particular model, the closest GPS could deliver was 1 state away, so we went with it fully assembled on a car hauler. Our 200XRS was able to be delivered just down the road at a terminal (and nothing was missing) so I'm not sure why this couldn't be crated closer. The only downside to having them delivered via crate is that you have to have a trailer or other means to get it back to wherever you're going to assemble it. Thanks for your comment!

    • @elite_7348
      @elite_7348 6 місяців тому

      I've also had good experiences with GPS. We ordered 2 exhaust kits for the Coleman mini bikes and one of the pipes arrived with the flange only tack welded on. We contacted them to simply get it replaced before mounting it and it just breaking. They just sent us another no question asked and told us to keep it. 5 mins of welding later and we now had 3 kits. Keep the videos of this Trailmaster coming. If you could, do a video on the engine, transmission, and drive train. I'm curious how they have this ran from the engine to CTV to transmission to the final chain drive. This is most likely going to be my next purchase for the family. The 300ex looks like it will be big enough for myself to enjoy, but also something that I won't have to worry as much about kids riding while I'm working.
