    Where do you buy repair materials? They build many strip malls with this and cover the columns in Texas and cars are always bumping and crushing the styrofoam

    • @scottsplasterworks6971
      @scottsplasterworks6971 2 місяці тому

      I would replace the foam on the columns with brick or stone about 3 feet up so it doesn’t get damaged as easily and it would look better but you would have to call a local stucco contractor they know where to get the material and they need to know how to match the color of the finish that is very important and thanks for watching the video

      In Texas the EIFS is a layer of styrofoam glued to plywood. Then fiberglass mesh and then Dryvit granular paint. We need to repair the dents and crushed areas and corners. Not to completely change the architecture of the entire strip mall.

    • @scottsplasterworks6971
      @scottsplasterworks6971 2 місяці тому

      I understand it’s just a poor design and it’s always going to be a maintenance issue with the EIFS and I hope you can find someone in Texas that will be able to fix your columns they are so many shady contractors out there

    Must be cool out there in that area. Here in southwest New Mexico in the summer you have to have a floater right behind you or it dries

    • @scottsplasterworks6971
      @scottsplasterworks6971 7 місяців тому

      Yes it dries up pretty quick here too that’s why I sprayed the water on the wall first if you watch the video you will see I spray it once so it starts soaking in then I went back over it now the wall won’t suck the moisture out of the finish as fast also I ran the finish heavy so the sun can’t dry it out when I get all my finish on then I can go back and pull it tight and float if you look at my shadow I was in direct sunlight it’s all about the timing thanks for watching

      I’ve also done this work for over 25 years and have done it the same way as you and everyone else I had just done a job right before this one where I had to stick 4’x8’x2” sheets on the wall and that’s how it was done I done this one just to see how the 2’x4’ sheets would work I figured I would show something different sorry if everyone has a problem with it
