I fly CL scale models with electronic controls and have recently started to use 2.4 Ghz radio control for the throttle, flaps, retracts and other features. The elevator is still controlled with a std bellcrank, 2 lines and a mechanical pushrod. This channel talks about how to use 2.4 Ghz radio control in CL scale.

How to check CL model Line Rake
Переглядів 1,1 тис.Рік тому
talks about the location of the Center of Gravity of the Control Line model and how it will affect the line rake. I start with 2 or 3 degrees and adjust from there. Also remember the vertical CG, if the leadout guide is too low or high it can make the outboard wing fly in the low or high position.

how to install an arming switch harness - lipo powered model
Переглядів 9402 роки тому
This shows how the motor / Speed Control / Arming switch and battery are plugged together on an Lipo power model airplane. When I say shorting plug that is the same as the arming plug. The Arming plug completes the electrical circuit to deliver the Lipo battery power to the Speed Control.
Electric power - When an arming plug is a good idea.
Переглядів 6232 роки тому
This video show two examples of electric powered models. One does not need an arming (shorting) plug while the other does require a arming plug. When you do use a arming plug you install the battery and then install the arming plug before you fly and then remove when you are done flying

Insulated flying lines for Control Line models - How to assemble
Muy lindo el modelo y su vuelo. Como podria conseguir el plano para construirlo. Saludos y gracias.
Nice.
I always loved a cox engine and the smell of the fuel 😊 but I'm 68 now to old to fly them. And my eyes are bad too.
No you are NOT too old!! I have known several flying buddies that flew control line stunt well into their 80's and even 90's. I'm 69 and still fly expert class Stunt, old time stunt and classic stunt. You don't quit flying when you get old, you get old when you quit flying!!
Its good but why do you have to carry the entire servo tester with you....?
When I fly with throttle control the servo tester or other devices that uses the insulated lines is with me while I fly so I can change the throttle setting. The entire point of the insulated lines is to allow you use a JR DSC radio, converted 72 Mhz radio, Bill Young handle, servo tester or other devices to control features on the model for CL scale. Most CL scale models only have throttle control. If you used a JR DSC radio you could have up to 6 channels being controlled from the center of the circle. You wouldn't use this line material if you had a venturi with a traditional needle valve where you fly until you are out of gas.
Enjoyed watching you fly your Stuka,my Dad got me 1 like in 1972 I was estatic, I remember it being so loud, unfortunately I crashed the 1st day 😢
As someone that watched the space program progress from the first Mercury Redstone rockets, this was AWESOME. Great job!
HI FRED: ANY VIDEOS FROM THE F2- A W/C'S YESTERDAY ? TOO MANY FROM F2-D !
That was awesome... You know, you can actually film it in slow motion in-camera... I bet this rig would be worthy of another go at it... I'd love to see it... Well done.
One of the coolest videos I have seen yet.
Gracias por el vídeo, fue de mucha ayuda👍👍
wow that was awesome! well done
Man how cool is that?
Bien cordialement
Is the rocket 2 stage?
I received a Cox Stuka for Christmas 1962. I could not wait to fly it once the Minneapolis winter let up. I took it on my Michigan summer vacation. My maternal grandfather watched me fire up the rascal on the gravel in front of his barn. He let the tail loose on my command the Stuka shot like a rocket straight up! I tried to control the beast. My beautiful Stuka pitched over and went straight down. It crashed hard and broke several pieces. I sent some money to California for replacement pieces. After a wait which seemed forever to 13 year old me, I got the parts and repaired the machine as good as new. I should have suspected the Stuka from my bedroom ceiling to admire during me teen years. Nope! I took the Stuka flying again. It did the same death defying stunt crashing into about a dozen pieces. Apparently, I was not born to pilot control line model aircraft. 17 years later, I earned my private pilots license and achieved my lifelong dream.
Excellent story my Stuka didn't last long either
That was what my first experience was like as a 12 year old kid!! But 50 years later and a lot of laps flying C/L stunt, the result was this video and vindication for me!!
Tout petit. 260 ....et pas sur ....speed french ......!! Petit coup d'oeil. A J .Magne ..!!🙏🇨🇵
I’ve been trying to find plans for a Fox Stunt Speed plane. The plane you’re flying in this video looks very close. Do you know where I can find plans for a Fox speed plane?
you can fly any model as long as it has a Fox 35 stunt on the nose. Pick any speed model you like that will allow the fox 35 to be mounted, must have at least one wheel. I have a cosmic wind model I use to lower the average speed. The model flies on power, you can modify the venturi, needle valve, hemi-head, back plate just has to be a fox 35 crankcase.
Great how he had lox simulation on the rocket body, blast and smoke on the launch!
Half A’s….. thanks for sharing. I had that Stuka , the Spitfire and the one that flew the best…PT-19.
flew mine august 71 in uk
I was hoping to find out how to use the tester, not how to test a servo. We know how to test servos. Nobody knows how to use the flite test product.
Nice!
So many possibilities.
I had the same plane and also smashed it up on my first flight. Dad glued it together for me and I was able to finally master it. I now fly small classic aircraft and at 71 I still love it.
Well done dave...very entertaining indeed! 😆
Camera, Zoom Out for the love of God.
My Dad had that plane when I was about 7 yrs old around 1970. We went out to fly it the first time. My old man got dizzy, stumbled backwards and fell. The plane crashed and was ruined. Great memory! lol
The model kit comes with the option to power the rocket with 3 x C6-5 engines, WAY more impressive liftoff than from one D engine. But the detail of the pad, and add’l pre-liftoff smoke is impressive. And how can you have only one camera view?
What makes this particular rocket the Apollo 16 Saturn V?
Nicely done! That's the closest to a real launch anyone can get using solid fuel engines. Awesome.
My brother and I spent all our money to buy a cox 049 pt plane. Never could get the engine to run. It took us all year to save up.
The launch tower was awesome the animation on another level excellent build on the entire set up,last time I launched a Saturn V rocket never could find it,it went completely out of sight so it must be orbiting the earth lol, looked for about 3 wks and bout 60+ miles out no rocket
Awesome!
That Saturn V took of 20 times faster than the real one. The launch tower is just way to cool with the White Room, swing arms, cat walks, nitrogen vapor, fuel pipes, flame buckets and all those details. I think the launch pad is cooler than the rocket. Why was that wire to the left at 7:15 smoking?
How was this rocket stabilized?
Comprehensive! Tnx! Blue skies
That lift off was sweet. You should replay it in slo-mo.
That thing took off like a rocket !!
Fred: please pardon my oopsie below. I mistook your voice for that of Fred Carnes. I am now embarrassed. Long live Scale!!!
Fred, thanks for the visual, and for the jig design, which makes the task MUCH easier to accomplish neatly. BTW, thanks as well for your series of I-beam design articles in the late, lamented Flying Models.
Outstanding flight. I Had a Cox Stuka, a P-40 Flying Tiger and a PT-19 when I was a kid. Still have the PT-19. Great memories.
73 now. Great stuff.
sounds almost like the original terrifying trumpet of Jericho
I used to have the Yukon Patrol version with floats and skis. Both worked as should, of course wheels were easiest...
WOW that is the exact same story of the COX Stuka I finally got after 6 months of saving my money back in 1968, up over and down. Then I was back to flying my Cox PT-19. That was so much fun watching what it was supposed to look like past 1/2 turn!
You are a cool and good man..... " One Cool Fox Man"
I had one. They had a bomb you could drop from it.
Love this video, I had the Cox P-40 Tiger Shark and crashed it on the first flight too. My mom and baby brother have also passed. We share a lot, great video and thanks
The Stuka was my favorite. The scream of the engine kind of simulated the sirens mounted on the Stukas. Kid magnets, for sure.
Mine had a thottle control sleeve on the cyl. Corsair!
