    Just retired at 62 Oct 2023 after 3 decades on the road.Ive done 140,000 miles a year a few times.$293,000 ÷$2.00 a mile =146,000 miles.I made 85-90 +bonuses last five years gross as a company driver.After an honest audit that driver makes what I made.Sooo much has been left out.Shop time break downs,blown tire services,Crazy insurance costs,truck payments,health Ins,80-100 thousand dollars for fuel at $3.75-$4.25 gal.And much more.I met more owner operators that barely profited.The truck Is a money bucket after 400,000 thousand miles.When you buy another one your gains are zeroed out.Be serious.

    Probably at least 40k in insurance alone… depending on how much liability he had. And that figure it’s probably way higher.

    • @johnnysecular
      @johnnysecular 3 дні тому

      @@chest_athletics no, original comment has a point. the word revenue does not require gross to make sense, but the word profit means sthg different if it’s gross vs net. in my line of business in grocery retail, we often use the verb grossed, to refer to gross profit (not revenue), and to refer to our gross profit from product revenue. We have other revenue in the business, and revenue figures are pretty meaningless since every division has wildly different margins. so the guy in the video is using grossed colloquially in a very different way than I use it colloquially,

    Let me help you understand something here. I was a Driver for 15 years. I've Driven for many companies because let's face it, Drivers are lied to over and over again. Then we become "jaded". And even if recruiting is telling the truth, DISPATCH is the one who will usually run a good Driver out the door. Dispatch just wants to get that freight moved by any means necessary. Damn the holidays, damn your home-time, damn any plans you might have had. They don't care if you miss holidays with your family. They don't care if you put in for home time a month in advance. Every Driver knows that Dispatch will make or break you. And when dispatch shows you they don't care, absolutely the trust is broken, and everything is under a microscope at that point. So, your intentions might be good, but if you can't get your Dispatchers to stop treating Drivers like we're external truck parts instead of human beings, you will always have good Drivers run out the door.

    Id get OO coming in wanting a repower with a big power Cat or Cummins (600-950 horse builds from $20-80k) and then ask if they can pay for it after they get running and making money again, like they don't already have $250k into the truck on shiny lug nut covers, 16 inch low pro front bumper, 12 inch crome visors, 10 inch crome stacks, custom alligator leather seats and door cards, the list can just go on and on and they rarely have any of the money left they brag about they make each week to pay for the power unit that makes the money. It just boggles the mind trying to do mental gymnastics to make these guys make sense, now all to order engines have to be cash in hand or a secured line of credit before we start a build because to many guys don't have the funds or are looking to take advantage

      I leased a truck with them for two years they're are extremely well to work with. I decided to go to a third party to buy a truck to work for myself. I can 100% say had i not gone through them first I would have failed as a owner operator trying to do it alone. They have amazing tools to help you and more importantly when you make mistakes like not putting enough in your maintenance fund you have the ability to recover from those mistakes without being judged so long as you learn and change how you do things
