I watch pretty much every week from Forney, TX. It’s about 20 miles from Dallas. Coincidentally, our church is in Dallas and is also Grace UMC. I just had to say Dave… your sermon on this day (3-3-24) was SOOO good!!! I really enjoyed it and got a lot from it. Blessings to all of you!

Thank you all for joining us tonight. Special thanks to our camera operator, Ken Grant! On behalf of all of the staff singers at Grace, we wish you a very blessed Merry Christmas.

I (Michael) have been so blessed to sing with so many wonderful singers as both soloist and Director of Music at Grace over the past 17+ years. Special Thanks to Peyton Dixon for suggesting we end tonight’s concert with a duet we have sung several times Adolphe Adams’ “O Holy Night”

Soprano, Melinda Oriani will now sing another piece by our wonderful composer in residence, George Broske, his new setting of “Sing of Mary Pure and Lowly.”

We now present to you the Handel Recitative and Aria “Thus Saith the Lord/But Who May Abide.” This time, "But Who May Abide" is sung by our Baritone Soloist, André Dion Wills.

We welcome back our organist, Gabe Benton, who will now play Pierre Dandrieu’s “Joseph Est Bien Marié”

Bass, Peyton Dixon, sings now a favorite of Grace church members, Pietro Yon’s “Gesu Bambino.” Yon was a well known organist in New York City through much of his life and was principal organist at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in NYC.

Next, Tenor, Spencer Simpson will perform a lesser known Christmas piece by composer, George Whitefield Chadwick, “O Holy Child.” Spencer does a great job with this lofty piece!

We are so fortunate to have a composer in residence as part of the choir, Maestro George Broske. Here, Jan Broske, Geroge’s wife sings a new composition of his “Sweet Little Jesus Boy.”

Our organist Gabe Benton is next to perform the Bach organ work: “In Dulci Jubilo”

Next up is soprano, Brynley Lammers, singing the aria “But Who May Abide” from Handel’s “Messiah. This piece is sung regularly by both mezzo-soprano and Baritone. Originally written for baritone solo without the presto “Refiner’s fire” sections. A 1789 performance of the Messiah directed by Mozart, moved the aria to mezzo-soprano, where it is found in most scores.

We start off with soprano, Elizabeth Vex, singing the Domine Deus from Vivaldi’s “Gloria”. The Grace Choir performed the “Gloria at their Feast of Carols 2018.
