    This haybine is the best ! Ive reached speeds up to 22 miles per hour cutting hay. The only issue there is with that speed it automatically windrows the hay because the hay never has a chance to drop down to the ground before it hits the areas where its windrowed ( in the back of the machine ). And..... you still need to turn corners. So.......average speed ( if you trap gophers ) is around 12 miles per hour. Ive went to all grease in the gear boxes under the turtles. Its stays there. If you twist off the hex shaft in the gear boxes... buy one from the local machine shop......medium hardness. 1/ 10 the priced at the dealer !

    Thank U & do you mind sharing the price of this unroller/feeder?

  • @farmingforfunandprofit940

    Our operation uses Simpsons unroller tables, That after some add ons to controll the feed rate we can convert a 4x5 in about every 6 minutes.....

      How many square bales average per round?

    • @farmingforfunandprofit940
      @farmingforfunandprofit940 Рік тому

      @@markherrin5583 Thank you for the Comment...... We usually get from 18 to 20 small squares from a 4x5 round....Unlike most operations we do not use the fluffer on the hay coming off the bale as it creates more fines that sift out in the baler.......

    Good video. We recently picked up a 5212 and are anxious to start working with it. Thank you for taking the time to make the video and for sharing your thoughts!

  • @farmingforfunandprofit940

    Being as we are in Hay to stay.... and our main fields are 15 miles away we round bale, transport and stack under cover on end about 2500 to 3000 4x5 Cover Edge net wrapped bales a year......My opinion of twine wrapped bales is Phillis Diller having a bad hair day!

    What's the PTO HP requirement for that mower?

    • @hollycreekfarms1847
      @hollycreekfarms1847 Рік тому

      I believe it is 75 engine, so probably about 65-70pto hp. I am running it with 69 pto hp with no problems, but tried with 55 pto hp and that wasn’t enough!

  • @farmingforfunandprofit940

    I have one of these; it’s pretty good but it’s kind of a pain to get to all the grease fittings. I’ve seen the same machine sold under different brand names so it’s been pretty popular.
