A busy week, H finally gets his Christmas present a flight in a Lancaster Bomber simulator. Working on the garden with new pots and new plants, plans to change the unused Vegetable plot into a quiet spot to read a book and have a cup of tea. And finally my new (second hand) kiln arrives and I get back to painting at last
Chelsea in Bloom London 2023

A wonderful trip to London to see Chelsea in Bloom, an annual display by the local shops and businesses to celebrate the Chelsea Flower Show The displays get better every year, this years theme was Flowers in Film and included Mary Poppins, the Jungle Book. There was a great atmosphere with cafes and restaurants joining in the fun.

Just spent a week at the Mercury Yacht Harbour in a caravan. Good site. Handy 20 minute walk into the village. Had a couple of great lunches at the Beach Hut cafe. Short pink ferry trip over to Warshaw. Left the car behind and used the bus into Southampton and a train from Hamble Station into Portsmouth. Enjoyed our week as weather was good.
Thank you we dont have this exhibit in my country. I love art and hope to see this one day ❤

My family lived in Alverstoke in the late 1700s. My ancestor was a boot maker for the navy. I wish the property was still in the family! It looks like a beautiful area. Thanks for posting the video.

Hi Jan. I’m pretty sure I saw that black Jag in the opening sequence in a petrol station recently. I spoke to the owner briefly, I don’t think he was impressed I was looking, seemed pretty miserable. I was trying to work out what it was ?

It’s all so beautiful, a fabulous area you live in. And the trellis idea with fruit trees sounds great. We just got an Asian pear espalier that we planted in our sunny south facing yard in front of our house. It’s against the garage wall and had lovely flowers & now tiny little pears. We had to cover it with deer proof netting because we have lots of deer here in Central New Jersey, near the coast. Nice to be able to hear your lovely voice. ❤️

Jan, thank you for showing us the lovely area that you live in & some of your wonderful travels. You have a lovely voice but unfortunately I can’t hear most of what you’re saying because the music, though it’s beautiful, is a bit too loud. I just watched your ice skating video, with the hope that you would share more of yourself, your background, your life’s journey that brought you to teach ice skating & to where you are today …perhaps it’s the British custom not to share too much. I’m an American, living in a home in New Jersey, with my husband & 3 rescued cats, ( my son is grown & currently elsewhere) about 15 minutes from the coast. I went to an art High School & University in New York City. About 15 years ago,I took a PleinAir oil painting workshop out West in beautiful Wyoming (near Yellowstone National Park)where I learned about painting from life,outdoors, which I love to do. When I see the beautiful area you live in I think over & over “oh, that’s a painting… and that’s a painting…😊” I had stopped painting a few years back, due to money & health reasons & instead focused on learning to cook healthy. And I’m happy to say I’m doing better now and will be “sorting out “ my messy studio, so that I can start painting again. You mentioned that you don’t like eating early & you’re quite right, skipping breakfast is a good thing. 😊( it’s called IF, Intermittent Fasting) Your studio looks lovely now, best of luck to you ❤️

Amazing how wonderfully classy the ladies and some of the gents looked in "period" clothes and how skinny jeans and other new age affectations make people look like fools.
Their is no class or style today, for anything good you have to look back.

It was June but the weather was wonderful, it can have thunderstorms but they do not last long

Your comment: "EVERYONE LOOKS SO ELEGANT" appeared just as I was thinking the exact opposite. Several people made a big effort to embrace the much advertised 40's & 50's fashion style. This is how the event is portrayed in the media and so they must have really felt out of place, vulnerable and perhaps a bit 'silly' when most of those around them that I saw in your video just looked like tramps whose style was - 'NO style whatsoever'. Your video is a low quality, amateur snapshot of a glimpse into the event and poorly edited - if at all. You spent 2 minutes of a 5 minute recording showing a military band. You have put me off thinking of going to Goodwood - embracing the lovely 50's fashion and a chance to wear my fully fashioned stockings. I also don't feel tempted to subscribe to your videos if this one represents the standard I will find. Regards, Catherine.
