Good grief. Just read the books. The movies are crap.

Usually, I find the film of a book to be unsatisfactory. However, the trilogy is excellent. Visually, it is as if Peter Jackson had been inside my head because the films matched the images I've had in my mind whenever I've read the books, which is around 40 times. However, one big mistake was to leave out the Scouring of the Shire. There are two themes to the story that give the books their purpose. One is the handing over of power from the elves to humans, the second is the training of the Hobbits to deal with adversity. For the Hobbits, the whole point of their quest was to enable them to carry out the final defeat of Saruman. The final battle sees the Hobbits as a race victorious against evil. This was possible only because the quest had trained Frodo, Sam, Merry, and Pippin. After the battle, Saruman dies in a manner far more suited to the creature that he has become. Wormtongue's role is more dramatic because his thoughts have festered for longer under Saruman's bullying. Wormtongue's death has a meaning that it lacks in this scene. This version lacks depth and purpose, and the fact that it could be left out of the theatre version shows that it is not fulfilling a role.

So, instead of keeping this in the theatrical version, Peter decided it was better to have the film end no less than 3 times before it truly ends.

Breaks your heart when saruman mentions frodo considering what gandalf last said to frodo and the fact that it was a death sentence to send him to destroy the ring.

If you look carefully at 1:30 you can see Big Ben in flames in the ball 😂

Good riddance, now we'll need no scouring of Shire, and instead meet the welcome party immediately!

Grima actually killed Saruman while on the road to Hobbiton.

I am shocked that Middle Earth's Occupational Safety and Health inspectors didn't fine Saruman for failing to install protective guard railings on his tower.....

Grima is only shot by Legolas in the movie . In the Book , he dies in the Shire .

Saruman (Sharky) actually dies in the Shire ... He has no real power and is stabbed by Grima(Worm tongue) The mighty had fallen

Meanwhile the theatrical version's like "so, should we kill him? No! He's no threat anymore." And they left Isanguard and then the whole move happened and the ring was destroyed and they went back to the shire and then Frodo and Gandalf left after a while and the credits rolled and this guy's still hanging out in his tower probably regretting every chose he's ever made in the past 100 years and thinking "I wonder if Sauron died, is Gandolf gonna come back for round two? Are those tree people still outside?...... huh, starting to run low on food reserves......"

This scene was just epic..!! An awesome entry to this film

What happened to Saruman? a) He died. b) He is a Maia and Maias cannot die, therefore he went to Astral space then will return as Gandalf did before. c) to the Astral space and will be punished (by whom idk) d) will be downgraded to Saruman the Grey

Interesting that Gandalf wanted Saruman to talk, when Saruman is known for having power within his words.

I always loved the story that Jackson tried to tell Lee what sound he should make when stabbed with dagger in the back - then Lee calmly asked him, if he ever heard that sound - becaouse he (Lee) did. No more question were asked :)

Gandalf looks like dumbledore

This is why I think Peter Jackson is a criminal. Saruman and Grima died outside the door to Bag End, not on the roof of Orthanc.

There seem a lot of quick reverslas here. Saruman wants to have peace again, Theoden rejects it, then later Saruman expresses great contempt for him. Unclear why exactly Legolas shoots Grima, especially Theoden expresses his affection for him. And Grimas attack on Saruman is not a threat to the Fellowship.
