Amazing…..those are crazy on that trail! No cvt issues there lol. Little mountain goats
I took my stock outback over a mountain on an old trail following a jeep and a tacoma in order to escape Helene in WNC. It made it. Lots of lumps and bumps and stumps but here we are. 💚
Nice
But the Subaru always asks the Tacoma for help moving.
Nice
I am curious what the total ground clearence is on that outback.
A Subaru Outback Wilderness has 9.5 inches of ground clearance, which isn’t half bad considering a 5th gen 4Runner TRD Pro has like 9.7? This particular Outback has bigger tires which probably give it more. Subarus biggest weakness when it comes to harder off roading is its CVT (notorious for overheating in situations where you’re spinning tires a lot), and lack of low range. If Subaru would give the Outback wilderness a 2 speed t case and a traditional transmission, it could rival, if not a 4Runner, then at least something like a Land Rover Defender (the new one). Edit: he said elsewhere it’s not a wilderness, and a 2018, which has 8.7” stock. It’s on a 3.5” lift here with oversized tires so he’s probably pushing 12” if not 13”. The rest of what I said stands.
This is a 2018 Outback with a factory clearance of 8.7 ground clearance at the rear differential. With the larger tires and lift this 1 is 11.2 as shown in the video. It has been modified more and is now 12.1
The big difference seems to be the shorter wheelbase of the Subaru. Meaning a better break over angle. (i hope that's teh correct english word, not my native language)
@@nirfz break over angle is the exact term in English.
@@backwoodstherapy thanks for the confirmation!

Wouldn't X-Mode have gotten the vehicle through this?
This generation of Forester 2009-2013 dose not have X-Mode. X-Mode works well and it would have helped a lot in this case. The locker is far more effective quicker and more instant, also with X-Mode engaged and a locker it is a very formidable combo.
Does locker work with the x-mode?
Yes, we as a company have 8 Subaru models with a Torq Locker and 6 of them have various versions of X Mode they all function and work well with the X Mode.
Nice test and great to see that crosstrek getting through the rock climb…..keep ‘em coming Fantastic! Viva Subaru
Crossing that boulder scree field, now that was impressive!
I need me some now I should be picking up my roof rack next week at rallitek
Much Apricated!! Keep exploring and we will be here to help with you next adventure!
Stock engine ?
The 2009 Forester has a PREracing stage 2+ club sport engine with forged internals, a VF52 turbo and other supporting mods it makes 330 whp and 380 torque. The 2022 OBW has stock engine with a PREracing tune and supporting mods in the way of exhaust and ETS intercooler it makes 295 whp and 350 torque.
My crosstrek is being a bitch to me lately with cvt issues 😕
Transmission cooler, and fluid flush with a full relearn program can do it wonders. Keeping fluid temps down is key to it being happy. Keep it manual mode 1st and let it rip with a rear locker.
@rallitek_official i put in a new 15k mile one in after my front diff grenades. Now it acts like its in neutral in all gears. I put in 6 qts of subi cvt oil after I drained the pan. Wondering if a solenoid is bad in it
Maintenance?? I know there are a lot of owners complaining but don’t maintain their vehicle. Haven’t heard of to many having cvt issues
Question, is there not an option for this for the rear sway because it isn't really needed? I'm researching for my upcoming Wilderness purchase, so I'm still learning.
No we do not offer them for the rear. Mainly because that endlink is so short not allowing us to have enough room to swing the endlink off the pin. We have also found the rear swaybar does not do much especially once our better suspension is installed so most people delete the rear swaybar and then run the front's as a disconnect so they can have the handling when they are on the road and the performance offroad.
Wow, that’s amazing!
Im curious to know if you know if the cvt is over heating when you are reving it up trying to go over those inclines and deep ruts?
No, the CVT has a temperature warning light when it "over heats". The "revving up" is the like any other automatic trans in that it has a slight amount of slipping from the torque converter engaging and disengaging or stall as it is often referred too. This allows for a smoother transfer of torque/power. At times this can be frustrating as you might want the toque converter to stay locked up or lock-up quicker. We here at Rallitek highly recommend CVT coolers and run them on all of our company vehicles, this greatly improved the life of the CVT trans and makes the trans hold up much better to the abuse we subject them too.
man these look great! wish the original 1/8 skid plates got those side fender liner tie ins also. i jsut got my original 1/8 underbody protection package in for my '24 OBW and installed over the weekend. look great, cant wait to test them out
Can that do a relearn procedure on the cvt after services?
There is no CVT tuning at this time but the CVT can adapt and learn the behaivior changes due to the tune.
I chased an outback wilderness in my ej207 and yea I ran out of GEAR and confidence with my prodrive 6 speed. SERIOUS Subaru.
They are pretty quick!
Need more can't really see how it looks on.
The full video is on our channel! We also have the full product listings on our website with installed and in action pictures!
2016 Outback 3.6 please!!
We're going to be working through all of our current fitments of skid plates and releasing this new version for them all so stay tuned!
Glad we waited to order skids for our 23' FW. We'll be pre-ordering the full skid kit w/ the November discount. These look amazing.
Thank you for the support, we appreciate it!
@@Bflaker23 are you getting the entire set, or just the front? I bought the entire set minus the gas tank plate, and it definitely made a difference in how the car handles.
Just to clarify... these are only for the 22+ Outback Wilderness, not a lifted 2020 XT?
Im not an expert, but it shouldn't be an issue.
We haven't tested it on the standard Outback models. It's likely it will work as our other skid plate does fit both but this new design is much more complicated with higher clearances as well as fender liner tie-in's that may cause fitment issues. We're going to be continuing to hit development on these hard moving forward so we should have a option for you here shortly!
Guys are the CVs going to be OK with the lift ?
Yes they will. They're still holding strong! This is only about 2" lift which is very doable for these Subaru models.
would you guys worry about using any kind of thread lock to prevent bolts from rattling loose? is there a torque spec for these that removes that worry?
A blue Loctite is perfect case use. Depending on the bolts and location can vary, see our install instructions on our site. rallitek.com/pages/installation-instructions-main
You guys are awesome. Can't wait for my parts and hope chats of this next year
Much Application!!
@rallitek_official i will be visiting the show room with my obw next week
@@ianvala2564 Look forward to meeting!
Omg thanks for the tip on aligning the bolt holes! I was working on one in the rear for 4hours and no luck. I’m gonna try the straps tomorrow
We’re glad we could help!
I just picked up my 2018 outback. Do you have a tutorial or forum on all the mods you used on this outback? Did you upgrade the suspension bits and beefed it up? Did you install a bigger transmission cooler?
A full build list is on our website!
Sorry but I find rock crawling extremely boring. The only thing more boring are videos of rock crawling. Can you do some high-speed rally style videos with a Crosstrek, please? Thanks!
The purpose of the video is to highlight the vehicles capabilities as a Compact Utility Vehicle (CUV) with some Rallitek modifications. Our primary function as a company is to make your Subaru a more capable off-road, camping, exploring get out and adventure have fun vehicle . We will be highlighting some high speed functions of the car in the near future. Thanks for watching!
Thanks, I look forward to it!
Is the Outback in this video a 2.5L or 3.6L?
This is the 2.5L model.
Thats not a line. Its a small bump.
When are there going to be Bilstein struts for a 22 OB premium?
We're hoping here really soon we've seen a couple prototypes come out from Bilstein! We're hoping they will have them out in the next 6 months or so.
Are those 5100? Or B6? Or B8 struts?
Those are our RalliTEK assemblies utilizing the Bilstein B6 struts.
@@rallitek_official awesome. We put the B6 on our Toyota Highlander. Great struts.
Getting gnarly @ 5:32! So awesome!
For anyone thinking about it, yes they’re absolutely worth it. A little bit noisy in a parking lot but that’s it. No real cons
Thank You! We are constanly trying to bring products to the Subaru platform that make the car more and more capable and also maintain the civility and comfort of the vehicle they are the "Swiss Army Knife of Cars"
Any videos on this build??
This build was for Adventure Zombie. You can check out his channel and see his build there!
If I do 1 inch lift on my 2019 WRX, do I need anything else, or just springs?
Generally, a 1-inch lift will not require additional arms or adjusters for alignment to be in Subaru specs.
LIKE A BOSS! well done……well done indeed🏆🏆🏆🏆. Subaru doubters and haters 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭. Wahhhhhhh. This isn’t the first time, and it certainly won’t be the last, awesome brand
Yes sir! Appreciate the love!
If it's an offroad bumper, please make one for the SH Forester 🙏🏻
Def dont show the lift... Good job on your widdle wadder though
He’s more than likely a horrible spotter as well.
Did this require subframe drop spacers?
Does it come with that holder mount and bungee holder thing when its disconnected like whats in this video?????
Yes, the cord to secure while disconnected is provided.
I haven't installed the mount yet but I just finished the process shown in the video. I didn't need to use the lube at all, the insert was pretty easy to slide into the mount. It's not loose but it doesn't appear as snug as shown in the video. 02 Outback 4EAT EZ30, ordered p/n RTEK-111672
Is this coming to the Forester SH?
It's on our list!
@@rallitek_official yes please, thank you! Front and back!

My Scooby in Siberia has such challenges every day 🤣🤣 Subaru 🤙🤙🤙
what size tires are you running?
245/65-17 AT3W FALKEN
@@rallitek_official do you think those would fit on a 2018 without a lift? I need new tires soon but can’t argue the lift until after I sell my truck. I would be getting the Wildpeak Trails not the ATs since my off-roading is mostly rough dirt roads in Baja and 90% daily driver.
