    I figure if a $140 target lasts me a year or two, that's good enough for me. I've heard good things about Rinehart targets and I do know they are guaranteed for one year but I haven't bought one yet. Awesome video 🤘🤘

    I always unscrew my heads then pull arrow out of the target. That way u not dragging the head through damaging it even more. Just a little tip.

    It says you’re only supposed to shoot potheads at the top and bottom

    I just got into Archery this year and decided to bow hunt my small piece of property. I have an abundance of does and a couple of bucks that I have seen. A small 4 pt probably 1 or 2 years old, on small basket 6pt that is probably 2yrs old, and one big buck that is pretty close to 200" but I am letting him walk. So I am focusing on the older mature does for now.

    I was considering buying this because it's on sale - despite having a negative experience with another block target. Now I'm definitely going with a Morrell or Rinehart 👍

    Top and bottom on the block for broadheads.

    Makes me wish I had more free time! I think bow hunting is probably one of the most primal things there is! Love the idea!

    Dude practice with your field points on your new Block target and have an old target for a few broadhead shots. You just ruined that expensive Block target. And also make sure you go back and sharpen those broadheads cause you are dulling the heck out of them shooting in your target. Good luck this season.

      I appreciate that!! I quickly stopped shooting broadheads in that block. Lol. But the broadheads I used were specifically for practice only, I have separate broadheads that I take in the woods.

    Hey man, do you think the persimmons and acorn crop will be junk this season since we had such a long stretch of no rain? How do you think the deer will respond and what types of food/patterns do you think the deer will be keying off of? Also maybe the area with no trees big enough for stands you could get a blind in there some place.

    • @Gmwtpjdg
      @Gmwtpjdg 2 роки тому

      First off, thanks for chiming in. And great question. The persimmons will more than likely struggle this year based on how hot and dry it’s been. I would assume acorns will still be as usual, just because I think they’re a lot more heat tolerant than a fruit. I think the deer will respond as usual, especially the more mature bucks. The older they get, the shorter their range becomes. Obviously when the rut hits, all bets are off. As far as what types of food that just depends on your location in particular and what the deer are used to, but if you have agriculture Fields nearby like corn, soy beans, etc. then that will change things and you will have to pattern the deer based on where the agriculture fields are, especially if you’re low on food source on your property. (Idk your situation property or location wise so it’s kind of hard to speak on.) And you’re right, blinds will be a great option at that location, I’ve somewhat thought about it, I just like being in a stand so I try to eliminate all possibilities before I get in a blind.

    Hey man, dont practice with broadheads the whole time. No targets hold up to lots of broadhead shots. Thats what feild points are for. Just make sure its the same weight in grains as your broadheads. If feild points and broadheads are not shooting the same and chances are the bow needs paper tuning. You practice with feild points and then just verify your broadheads shoot the same as your feild points so your targets dont wear out so fast and your broadheads stay sharp. Hope your season went well and you next season in a little over a month goes well. Regards from Virdigris oklahoma

    No target will stand up to broadheads being what is primarily shot into it. I've tried most of them. I now only shoot broadheads to verify POI.

    Are you practicing primarily with broadheads?

    • @Gmwtpjdg
      @Gmwtpjdg 2 роки тому

      No, I only use broadheads a couple days prior to opening day to make sure accuracy is still the same. I did this video because both targets say they take broadheads, this was a review over the targets.

    Awesome review brother. I just have a Mathews v3x 29 with victory ss arrows with qad exodus broadheads. We, here in Georgia , have a factory that makes large sheets of styrofoam (4'×8'x8"). Not sure what the cost is as it was given to me. So far so good. Liked and subscribed🦌

    Welcome to the outdoors young man, and fellow Okie. I've been a Hoyt man for over 30 years myself. A bow hunter for nearly 50. I'm not strictly a bowhunter, I rifle hunt as well. I enjoy seeing fresh new faces in the hunting community. I look forward to seeing your work.

    Awesome to see someone else is getting ready for the upcoming season. I’m using a Mathews with black eagle rampage arrows and cut throat 150 grain single bevels. I use the same targets you have and shoot from my raised back deck. It’s been working well for me. Good luck this year and I hope you get a good one. Keep the videos coming

I use a Mathews and black eagle rampage arrows with cut throat 150 grain single bevel broadheads. It’s nice to see your practicing and getting pumped up about the upcoming season. I’m with you. Well good luck to you man. Hope you get a good one this year. You got a new subscriber. Keep the videos coming.
