it's one of my favourite songs in the broadway catalogue, schwartz is a genius for it 🙌🏻 how it so heavily leads up to being a love song, and instead makes a parody (or is it 👀) of it instead - and struck me as being very reminiscent of another comedic and campy duo who can't help but be fascinated by each other even if they're meant to be the opposite 🤭💕 exactly as you said - a very fine line!!! im so glad you enjoyed it, it was tons of fun to make and i hope just as fun to watch 💖

okay brass tacks time. tbh i tend to have, like, One scene in my head for One bit of the song, start with that, and then figure out the 'story' afterwards. YGLABN started with the sequence from 1:38 onwards, through the chorus. and then i wanted to mirror that in the opening (i find openings the hardest!!!), and have some kind of 'time rewind' effect, which tbh i do a lot in my vids 😅 but yeah then i will usually write out each line that im using in the edit, assign them to a character to ensure symmetry (unless the vid is specifically About them) and basically scour my memory for 'oh that shot of them would work well here'. and then i end up deciding whether or not i want to do any 'fancy' bits - like, am i concentrating on matching blocking/making seamless transitions between shots (which was my aim with YGLABN). sometimes that just kinda leads to a running 'theme' between shots - eg the looking up at god thing! - and then it's a matter of, when watching back *continuously*, making sure that it's not too jarring or like visually straining (gotta kill your darlings sometimes; some of my favourite sequences end up getting cut and reused in another vid!!! the sequence of crowley looking over at aziraphale in the bentley was pulled from a different vid!!!) anyway sorry that's probably more detail than you wanted 😅💕 but tbh i just have a lot of fun making them!!! sure it's wonderful if they get loads of views, but the best bit of it for me is scratching that "im listening to a song and imagining my blorbos" itch, it's so satisfying!!!💕 thank you so much lmao especially if you've read this far haha!!!💖
