The Gable's Bus
Приєднався 15 жов 2020
Meet the Gable's. We are Vern, Donna, Vernon, Jayden and Colton. We are just your oridnary family of 5 looking for adventure at every turn. We are building a MCI Bus into a mobile home. Maybe for just long weekend trips or possibly longer trips. We want to show you the build from start (Functioning charter bus) to fully functional Motorhome. The bus will include a lot of solar power for those long trips Boondocking as well as enough water supply for weeks of use without the need for refilling.

If you have any questions feel free to ask, I reapomd to all questions. the ceiling is turning out beautiful.
Hi, I just watched your video on your Battle born batteries and how they didn't warranty them. I left a comment on their UA-cam channel about this. I had the same problem with 1 of my lifepo4 Marine trolling motor batteries. It just quit working after just less than 2 years. I contacted the company and after a few emails they gave me a FULL refund of over $650 bucks. I am so pissed they didn't warranty yours. I never submerged or sprayed my batteries either. The only thing I could think of is that my batteries are in my bildge area and in the summer its high humidity in that area and thats how the water got in. I couldn't imagine having 2 batteries go bad like you from water and them not warranting them. I would be sick of having thrown out over $2k like you spent. I would be FURIOUS since like you said they were never submerged or sprayed. They are Marine batteries and should be able to be in high humidity at the least. I am so sorry that happened to you. I rebuilt my bad battery as well. Cost me a little more because I bought 4 new cells for it and a new BMS. I got around 200 in the build. The company didn't seal the top. I couldn't believe it. But, I sealed it up nice. Hope you got yours running again. Look for my comment on their video, I just made. ua-cam.com/video/o6ftqX9GEVM/v-deo.htmlsi=BwqBenES6rY5FcO1
They make a tool for that lol
Wouldn't you use Royale purple break in oil
Hey can you help me with a video to put the top half of my motor back together? I had Rev6 rebuilt my motor and they didn't put all back together like stator n push rods rockers
Which Big Bore kit did you go with? Also, how did it perform? I just finished my Kalama Big Bore Stroker and Stage Cam* (Whatever that means). Thank you!
I dont remember at this point, sorry.
I also ordered the Kalama big bore kit, how did it go? Was it good also did you need the stage cam for the big bore or was it just an option? Because I didn’t order a cam to go with it and I’m worried it would go wrong.
Why people allways complain about learning how to do a job y’all need to learn respect and be happy y’all can see how it’s done if need to complain on everything don’t watch it are don’t complain and be thankful atleast
Did it increase power? And was it worth the $&
Nothing noticeable unfortunately
It’s only one piece of the performance puzzle. Need better air intake,Efi fuel control box, exhaust kit, and life insurance when your wife finds out how much money you spent!😂
That is SO intimidating
$300 to fill up I’m feeling better, thanks for sharing
It’s awesome!
Literally sitting in Deland FL parking lot at Walmart and see y’all’s bus and looked y’all up! Pretty cool to see !
Thanks Kristen. We're stalling around waiting on mom to get her nails done. Lol
@@thegablesbus1626 probably a very much needed relax time! Hope you all have a safe journey traveling!
Yes it sure is. Thanks.

Yes sir. Just finished up a good hike. Were headed north in a bit.
Dude I seen y'all on ga 400 today and looked y'all up. Bad ass man
Thanks Austin
YOU ARE IN MYRTLE BEACH
what a fun adventure. Than you for taking us on your journey. I have family that live in Clearfield /Dubois area.
Way to work the problem on the wheel bearing. Could have used the chain we talked about too :-) Done / published is better than perfect. Great job!
So I actually planned on it and tried. But it would not keep the tire off the ground so I'm not sure what I have going on there. But that was the plan. Lol
@@thegablesbus1626 There is an unloading valve in rear passenger side I think you can use to keep air out of the bag. Oh well. Glad you got it sorted like a boss.
Good to see you, good luck out there.
Hey family, how much was the insulation....?
I paid a local guy $960 to do it. Much better choice then doing it myself. It was going to cost me $700 to deal with the mess and learning. I opted to hire it. It's the only thing we paid to have done.
Beautiful job family, from Sparta. I have a long way to go on my build. ? who is the vendor on your solar panels..?
Thanks Robert!! I purchased my panels from santan solar.
@@thegablesbus1626 THANK YOU!!!
His gaskets are laying in the dirt, I bet that motor didn’t last 10 minutes.
Where did you get your canopy today an doors from?
Hello from Scotland 🏴 What’s happened with the updates of the build was really enjoying them.
Hey David. I've been struggling to get us moved out of our rental and into the bus. I'll be updating very soon. It's coming along great thou.
@@thegablesbus1626 great to hear
Every time he would tighten head bolts he bumped the frame and dirt would fall in the rebuilt motor, pressure wash the car before you work on it.
One of worst videos I’ve seen, besides installing the cylinder wrong half the video all you can see is the top of his head and back. Not to mention he’s doing it in a filthy shop with a dirt floor.
how long before you hit the road
We hope to take our madden voyage to a campground in Indian at the end of April.
Looking great 👍
Wow you should make that into a career that's a really nice job you got there in that bus
Thanks Mathew. I appreciate the kind words.
work on the engine yet
Hey George. No I have not yet. The weather is finally breaking here in Michigan. Working on the engine is planned for this coming weekend.
Heard a lot of bad review on compost toilets.
Hey Ray. Yea there are some bad reviews on them. I'm making ours a little more user friendly. Whether or not it changes things that I don't know. I'm hopeful thou.
Nice progress! Bummer about the window!
Sweet shower
Love the shower wow what a craftsman you and Kevin are proud of you both
did you get the engine fix yet.
Hey George, we have not yet. I finally found a good machine shop here in Michigan that can and will do the the head work. I just need to remove the other head and do them both at the same time. I think I will be doing an inframe rebuild while I'm at it being ill have the heads off and what not. I'm waiting for the weather to get a little warmer here is all. We are forecast for lows in the single digits for the next week or so. I'll keep everyone posted of course.
Great progress being made for sure 👍 Ya'll will be camping at a lake this summer for sure 👍
We plan on having it done by March. We have already scheduled several trips for early summer/mid summer. We are very excited to be using it.
Have you considered installing a couple outlets that have USB port and 120? This would allow plugging USB devices without the bulking charging end.
Hey Ron. We do have a decent amount of 120v outlets, we did not go with USB outlets because we have not found any that hold up in our house. We did however install actual USB ports in all the bunks, our room as well as will install some in the kitchen.
WOW! Moving right along!
Thanks Ray, it sure is.
Looking good
Yes it is Mickey.
Its looking good 👍
Thanks Mickey
Looking good 👍
It sure is coming along good
And eye protection.
Your wife should be wearing a dust mask while she's scraping!
That she sure should have.
Looking good 👍
Thanks Mickey
Going to make a huge difference in road noise and comfort. Spray foam is great for RVs
You should notice a big difference on the roof
It already made a big difference in temperature while spraying
Coming along nicely guys, Merry Christmas and best wishes for the new year. 🇬🇧
Thanks Baz. Merry Christmas to you as well. 2021 should be better.
One thing you could do is during edit do voice over. You can explain the process, what supplies are being used, why you are doing things certain ways, tell stories, etc. Just a thought
P S Loving the progress 💖☺️
Hey Ron. Great idea. I'll work on that. Editing is definitely the hardest thing but I will do that. Thanks for the advice.
It would be nice if you could stop every once in a while and tell us what your doing but still great video 📹 👍
Mickey I will do that. I wondered how I could make it better, that's it right there. Thank you
Cats comfortable lol It’s looking good
