Rewinding would be very difficult. I think you would have to crack open the case. It theoretically could work with the multi-strike ribbon, but not the correctable one.

Hopefully you have found another video that shows you how. It’s virtually impossible to describe in writing. The gist is that you want the center of the ribbon closest to the paper. So experiment weaving the ribbon through so that the middle of the ribbon is next to the paper.

The motor and/or belt very often make a humming sound. If the belt is warped, it will also make sort of a whumping sound. Thanks for watching!

The quietest typewriters are actually thermal typewriters, like the Canon Typestars or Brother EP series, but those are electronic. My Smith-Corona Sterlings are some of the quietest manual typewriters in my collection. I hope this helps! Thanks for watching.
