    I hardly even see above 15 psi on my 5.9 with compounds normal driving, so much better low rpm drivability!

    What is the sensor doing in my intake manifold on my 94 12 valve automatic ? Is it temperature and with the full manual valve body? I’m not thinking I needed it anymore. Lol

      It's an intake temp sensor only used to trigger the intake grid heater for cold starts.

    Buying an old 12 valve will make a mechanic out of you over the coming years.. You'll start with injectors and gov springs, then youll break your dash into 500 pieces in attempting to replace dash cap, steering and suspension (white knuckling gets old), then you'll figure out how to pull a cam so you can stop the extreme oil leaks. Keep an eye on your heater grid!!! Mine fell apart and the 12 valve gods required many tools and engine rebuilding knowledge Friggen love these podcasts!

    👍👍👍7100 , according to local pump shop , weren't designed with an RSV gov option... higher horsepower offroad units used the similar design/ appearance P3000...all i know,is the rqv/rsv isn't a direct swap... Do they modify or customize an rsv governor/case for a 7100 for pulling or just use a p3000 or other pump?... Thank you folks,for all you do 👍👍👍👊🇺🇸

I got into my 1995 "project" truck in 2015, where was this video back then? lol You PDD guys are lucky that my work group *still* hasn't won the lotto, otherwise I'd be harassing your phone lines non-stop with questions about ported heads, compounds, delivery valves injectors and P-pump cams...

    S362 sxe over billet s475 1.16 a/r Crazy Carl’s compound piping kit. Stainless Diesel spring controlled wastegate, with 1” deeper gate extender housing for 362.. found on eBay, flux mach 5 injectors. Hamilton 178/208 cam, Pdd 024 delivery valves. Afc live w/ compound spring kit, and their fuel plate. I’ve been tweeking my setup for last 5 years. I absolutely love it. Can be driven with no smoke, still plenty of power, with ability to go full power with flip of a switch. Very tunable.

    The advantage of port injection in a gas engine is that it has a cleaning effect on the back of the intake valves. It’s common to see a lot of carbon buildup on the valves with a direct injection motor. I’ve wondered what would happen if duramax, Cummins, and powerstroke would incorporate dual injection into their platforms. Would it improve the longevity and efficiency? But I’m not too familiar with the properties of diesel fuel.

    My problem with spring gates is at rpms below 2000 and higher boost levels they tend to annoyingly chatter as the pressure blows it open with each power pulse then it slams back shut again. Also it can be difficult to get max flow from the gate because the spring want to hold it barely open when it needs to be opening more and getting the doors out of the way of the ports.

      Do you have Stainless diesel spring gate? another thing I found was a 1” gate plate extender, found it on eBay, so the gate can open so much farther.. at least on a compound setup

      @@ppump24valve53 I did have a stainless spring gate setup on my sxr364 .70 but went back to a boost actuated actuator as it did better keeping back pressure in check in kill mode. I have had a spacer plate from area diesel for many years. Had the same one on my s300g

    Learned a ton from this Podcast . I own a 2004.5 3rd gen with the 48re . Was having shift issues from time to time even after the upgraded gov pressure solenoid and transducer . I bought and installed the push to connect high pressure transmission line upgrade from PDD. Fixed any issues the trans was having. The old crimp style lines were seeping just enough to effect line pressure. Easy Install to boot 👍👍

    Great video, I’m sold! It would be really cool to see you guys talk about some tried and true turbo setups for all ranges of power from stock truck to mild to rowdy and absurd. I really want to make 550-600hp on my ppump 12v use AFC live and still have nice street manners! I’m sure you guys have more than enough experience to run through a bunch of setups and talk about what works well and what doesn’t really.

    Very interesting! I remember when the afc live was in the early stages. I believe it was Will i talked to at the time to get one for my 4bt i had put in a Toyota t100 backed by a nv4500 and gear vendors overdrive. Will said it would work. At that time it didn't have the full power switch. But it was so much better than doing all the manual adjustments! That Toyota is still running. 602k on the truck, 450k miles on the conversion. It was a fun daily driver!

      We've inspected a couple H-pumps up close to check fitment, shaft taper and size for making a drive hub, etc. But we have ever actually ran one on the dyno and tested performance.

    Out of courosity, if you could "port" fuel a diesel (like a old gasser) when would it combust?

      From what I'm assuming, is if you port inject a diesel you'll throw timing control out the window as it could combust at whatever btdc as the fuel would be in the cylinder prior to the compression stroke, and outside the bowl

      We've never tried it with diesel, we have port injected methanol and nitromethane with positive results on a 400-500 HP truck picking up around 90 HP. We were not able to make significantly more power with the same turbo vs diesel fuel only.

    Nitro only fills the cylinder like 5-10 percent. If you lose spark its very few rotations til it hydrolocks and blows up

      Nitro definitely doesn't like ignition cutting on and off multiple timing in a run, that is a proven rod and block killer!

    Detonation in gasoline enginnes occurs after the spark event and results from the air:fuel stops burning prematurely. In order to start a gasoline engine, you can spin the engine over and get it spinning before powering the ignition.

    Detonation is the flame front going supersonic spiking cylnder pressure and as you said higher pressure accelerates the flame front. Its a snow ball thrown off mount everest that takes out an entire village leaving the rods hanging out of the block. Top fuel is hitting 10k hp 10k rpm math said 5252tq So equivalent tq to 3.5k diesel hp. So should be close in peak cylinder pressure.
