I had a 72 Gold Duster…with snakeskin vinyl top. The 225 slant six was unkillable, but Montreal winter salt got both the front torsion bar mounts. There was a weld in repair kit available at the time. The front fenders and rear quarters had gone as well by the time it got t-boned at an icy intersection. It never let me down though.

My dad's 1972 Duster was 3 on a tree. I always wanted that car but he got he rid of it 1 or 2 years before got my license. I was so bummed out. But got an 1973 Duster and Nova after got my drivers license. But so sad that Chrysler and Dodge really went down the tubes since 1972 Duster.

Update since then. Son is 24 years old. Has won many 1st place matches in FTR at 1,000 yards and won two state FTR championships, 2nd twice and 3rd twice.

When It comes to V8's this one is a masterpiece . A engine designed for racing then sold to the public. It has held so many records in motorsports. Even to this day the design still powers the N.H.R.A Topfuel and Funnycar class. Long live the Chrysler 2nd Gen HEMI!

I saw another video where they dyno the engine which came out of the yellow Cuda. Do you know if the rebuilt Hemi was put on the dyno, link?

Note that the Road Runner never did his tongue thing in these commercials. I'm guessing it could be because WBA did not have the "cork pop" sound usually associated with it in their limited sound effects library at the time.

I hated those old Road Runner commercials. A cartoon was no way to advertise that car. Ironically the first none hand me down car I bought was a 69' RR in the mid 70s.
