honestly when i was conceptualizing the puzzle i didn't think it would be that difficult, but apparently a lot of people found it challenging, so i spent 4 months developing it into this ^^

firstly, this is running on the upcoming portal 2 community edition mod, which reimplements a bunch of hl2 functionality. secondly, yes, you can run the entirety of portal 1 in p2ce (albeit with some replaced textures).

it's been in beta for a few years, they have publicly available applications for it on their website
