The drummer increaes the command radius. Need to find my rules to check on the Standard Bearer, but I think it is a range affected control advantage.
This was great. Thanks for posting.
More.... more..... moreeeeee :-)
Simply EXCELLENT :-)
Really love this.. especuially as its solo (always my preferred method of play).
We were in the same kick starter as you! Very COOL!!!!! Looking GREAT Buddy!!!
Nicely painted figures and an interesting and gripping little skirmish. I do wonder how Lieutenant Pointer went from blue leader 2 to blue leader 4 in the final round? French ancestry rising up?
I just play warhammer, but this looks cool. Love history, especially war. Is there a separate game for every battle though?
Hey! Great question. In historical games, the rules are usually based on what period of history you want to play. So in this case, the game is Sharp Practice, which the authors recommend for anything from 1700 to 1865. Tactics and technology were similar enough that the rules work for Revolutionary War, Napoleonics, and other "horse and musket" wars. So I'd say if you're interested in a particular period, I'd recommend googling "[X War] best skirmish wargame rules" and that'd be a great way to get started! As far as refighting particular battles, sometimes authors publish specific scenario rules for a historical battle but often times it's up to you, the player, to design the scenario based on your own research and the rules you want to use. happy to answer more questions!
Watching this now and it is really well done, looks great, minis and board are sweet! Thanks again bud
This looks great, ordered myself a copy.
Great, have fun!
This popped in my feed! Well designed and I enjoyed seeing the cover I illustrated on UA-cam! Keep up the great work.
Great looking terrain and a nice session. You even apply all the rules it seems which seems a bit of anomaly amongst many SB youtubers.
Sounds like good fun indeed. What's it like for solo play?
Thanks! Solo play is pretty basic, you create deployment groups and the enemies move and fight together Have some ideas for additional solo content in the future
@SmallBatchMiniaturesGame Looking forward to seeing what they are. And when can we expect fantasy stuff like Jason and the Argonauts skeletons lol?
Love the game so far, thanks for putting it out and making these videos.
Splendid tables, historical or not, very impressive video!
That looks like a really fresh take, will take a look.
Years ago I was looking for something like this because I wanted to create a campaign of scenarios based on the Anabasis. Xenophon described so many interesting tribes that they had to fight. I might have to pick these up. I like that there is no need to track wounds.
That's awesome! An Anabasis solo campaign is high on my list of possible expansions 😁
Looking forward to this
your minis are fantastic! Wonderful paint jobs. Where are they from?
Thanks! Warband and bandits are from Perry miniatures
Another really enjoyable playthrough, looking forward to seeing more!
A superb table and some beautiful figures here, great looking game!
Another great episode, really captured the theme and atmosphere!
these batreps are great! love solo wargame content
Awesome BatRep! Subbed!
I really enjoyed the series. Thanks for posting!
Great stuff. Enjoyed and subbed. ~Fritz
I love the terrain you have for the Egypt SB stuff. Where is it from? How did you make it?
Thanks, big temples and obelisks are 3d printed, from a designer called World of Pratheron
I guess you could say the first hit against the Pharaoh was the Mummy shot
I love your battle reports - one criticism, your music is too soothing!!!!! lololol.
This was a great looking game, very entertaining.
Thanks for sharing, really enjoyed the campaign and what an ending!
New subscriber - I play a lot of skirmish games, but haven't ever tried out Silver Bayonet - I recently got a ton of skeletons to build up, so maybe I will give it a try - the mummies were cool. Love your table. I was watching on my phone and on the tiny screen I thought your rock terrain were piles of skulls at first! :D
Nice! i have been waiting for part 2
Not sure why my previous comment was deleted, but great report and thanks for uploading. :)
The croc was the all-star for the Egyptians LOL. Where did you get your terrain? It's really great.
Thanks! Mostly from a Kickstarter by a designer called Aya Son
Great warband! What miniatures did you use for your guys and the bandits? Cheers!
Thanks! All from Perry
really fun watch
Nice report, great looking game, the terrain is splendid and immersive!
That was a really good run through, enjoyed it a lot.
Great play through, interesting collection of Ottomans. Im inspired to do Egypt now. Looking forward tobhour next report.
Hi. I just picked up a copy of the Egypt book. I’m a big fan of The Silver Bayonet. I watched your play through, and enjoyed it. But I was a bit puzzled why you made no use of the fate pool dice you had available to you (see pg. 69 in the core rule book). These would have allowed you to re-roll individual dice when you missed, reduced damage done to your guys (this would have been really helpful for you in this game), and redirected the movement of monsters. The Fate Pool mechanic is one of the key features in SB, and one of the reasons why I like the game system so much.
Thanks for watching! I'm going to try to remember to use them more in the future, sometimes it's tough to keep track of everything and film haha
Fun report!
Is this campaign included in the nightwatch book or is this something you made up on your own?
Yeah Nightwatch Blood and Bone is built around a 7-game campaign, and for the individual scenarios I just picked a mission out of the list from the book! I just used the minis I already had and elaborated a bit on the story (desecrating the sacred spring in this example)
Inspired me to finally start my own campaign. Love the minis!
great video! Two questions at 6:08 (as I learn the rules). 1. why does rat need +6 save instead of 4+. 2. Doesn't shooter get 2 d10 and 2 d8 for shooting as this is his prime stat? Thanks in advance!
Hey! 1. for each grimoire charge that you spend on a cast you get -1 to the target's save. 2. Yes, the shooter should have gotten advantage (roll 2, drop the lower) in all his shooting, I'm pretty sure I forgot this sometimes though!
@@SmallBatchMiniaturesGame looking at the rules closer, it may not be a grimoire charge as it was a shooting weapon, but some pistols cause -2 DD so I am guessing that is what happened
Gah! And a terrible evil sweeps over the land. (Defensive Posture comes in very handy, esp later in the campaign against high-tier adversaries)
Klaus Kinski tries to capture pop-star pirates! Nice!
Great setup! I got the rules a while ago but have yet to play it. I do have a bunch of painted skaven so I’m a bit inspired to try this as well.
How different is the new edition from the first version - what are the changes? Thanks (wondering if I should spend the cash)
So I don't have the first version but I believe that there are more character abilities and enemy customization options. There's also an RPG lite narrative phase that I'm not doing in my playthrough but looks cool for playing with friends
Your terrain is awesome, your minis are nicely painted, you are quite knowledgeable of wargaming, but damn its sad to watch a guy play with himself.
Lol and this is a great game for solo play, just wait until I try to play something even slightly competitive
It is? Solo wargaming has been around for decades.
