Getting my health on by growing my own. Veggies, fruit, eggs and meat. Would love to have a house cow but they aren't easy to come by. I'm gardening in the subtropical climate of Central Queensland, Australia. Our growing season is through Autumn, Winter and Spring. Summer is a scorcher but I'll be pushing the boundaries to see what we can eat.
Homesteading or hobby farming, whatever you want to call it, that's what I'm doing. Learning as I go, sharing the knowledge. Also learning to create video content so bear with me. I've dedicated myself to learning a new technique each week to apply to the vids so hopefully, they'll get better and better, and more enjoyable to watch.
Come along with me on my journey to a healthy body and mind while nurturing the soil taking care of the land.

Potassium boost your garden make fermented banana fertiliser.

I make my own fertilisers regularly so I have them ready in the growing season. The process is pretty much the same for each that I do. Fish, comfrey, weed teas. This time I make banana flower fertiliser using molasses to kick-start the fermentation process. Chopping up the flower, I added banana skins I'd saved also. If you don't have the flower just make it out of skins. Great for boosting po...

Thank you !! Very helpful :)
You’re so welcome Bonnie, have a beautiful evening.
I am glad i found your channel We through away the banana blossom. Now I will make my own potassium rich fertilizer. Thank you.
That’s awesome, so glad I could help. If you don’t have access to molasses it can be swapped out for a ground up uncooked potato and whey. I let my old milk sour and separate to get the whey. The potato feeds the whey microbes and helps break down the banana flower. Happy Gardening!
@@PetalsM Thankfully I do have molasses. Thank you for the tip about using a tomato.
Omg a Stimpson python soooo cute
It's a total cutie 💓 😍
Probably a mistake from the factory just sand it down.
Yeah I agree. They aren’t very well made, I hit them with the mitre saw.
Measuring tape, and a wood cutting implent might be what you are looking for
Sure was, and found them.
But it's not ecological.
Not true. If you read the description you'll see that I will use the ash and coals in the new garden. Very good for the soil. But you are welcome to add to your comment telling me why you think that way.
@@PetalsM well, it’s not good for the air and your neighbors could complain, but if you don’t do it often I guess it’s not a big problem. Your hard work is inspiring.
@@boatswain48 thank you. The neighbours could complain 😂 but then I might complain when they do it as well. Almost everyone on acreage in Australia has burn off's to clean up tree trimmings. We have strict rules about burning to save bush fires from happening. The air quality is not too much of a problem as the material is natural and not burning plastics or rubbish.
i already subscribe your channel
You did a great job 💪👍
Thanks Chic, I’m getting there. Closer and closer to planting the new orchard!
We feel your pain with the lantana! We are constantly clearing it and then burning it when we can! We started out burning it in 44 gallon drums and now burn in a small 2 metre space like yourself. You’re doing well! We’re getting our bees soon too 😊
Thanks! Appreciate the pat on the back. It's hard getting through it by hand, I see why people get the dozer in to wipe the land clean. Older farmers say the soil under the scrubs are very good. Looking forward to planting into it and finding out. The bees are the best. Am loving watching this new hive grow. Hope you're keeping cool 😎 👌 😉
I really respect those chainsaws 😲 I have only a small electric saw.
I’ve an electric pole saw. It’s fantastic to use. I’ve a healthy respect for them too, they can be dangerous in the wrong hands. Funny though to think I cut my finger on the grass when I’ve been hours and hours on the chainsaw.
Wow beautiful garden 👌
Thank you so much. You should see the vegetable patch in winter. It’s very beautiful.
You have beautiful garden and lifestyle there. Greetings from Germany
Interesting vlog n useful diy! You lookin cool! 👍🌴💖
Wow! Awesome vlog with very useful tips for gardening! Good luck! Btw, you looking Gorgeous n stunning! 👍🌱🌴🍅😋🌳🌈💖🌹
Very Nice
The leaves 🍃 of your tomatoes look very healty 👍 I don't know what's better the sound of the birds or of the traffic as in my allotment 😉
Yes they are thriving in the compost. They looked so beautiful I almost didn’t want to prune them. The birds are lovely, they mask the traffic noise 😆
Wow 🤗 so many kumquats 👍 I harvested three from my balcony last year 😂 Not enough for making syrup 😉 but they were delicious. Greetings Heidi 👩🌾💕
Hi Heidi! Three is a good start. I had a second flush and got all excited but when I went out to pick them I found the cockatoos had scattered them all over the ground. 😆 Cheeky things. ❣️
very nice garden good job wish you the best
Thank you! You too!
good luck ♡*( ͡˘̴ ͜ ʖ̫ ͡˘̴ )*♡
There is a mistake in your videos that you need to correct, the video will not spread widely
Oh well, thanks for your opinion.
@@PetalsM Do you know where is the error?
I’m guessing it’s in the first 2 minutes as that’s what the analytics show me you’ve watched. 😂🍻
@@PetalsM 😂😂😂The topic, my friend, is out of my view of the video. What I want to say is that when you wanted to download your videos, you did not put tags for your videos, so that the searcher would find them when searching, and this is what made your channel almost unknown to the search algorithms.

So interesting, thanks for this video! Definitely considering using raised beds myself in the future.
Thank you & you’re welcome ❤️ They can be expensive to fill when buying in soil, this was a perfect solution for me. I’d love to see your beds when you make them. Come back and drop a link if you document them on here or socials! Inspiration is always welcome.
