New York City inspired by Succession - Fujifilm X-H2S
Inspired by HBO's Succession I decided to pay an homage to the show with footage that I shot while in New York last year. I tried to push the grade to resemble the feeling that the show has established through the outstanding cinematography. I used Dehancer with DaVinci Resolve to color grade the shots going with Kodak Porta 800 as the film profile in Dehancer. I used a bit halation and bloom. Let me know what you think!

Challenge Hike: The White Horse and Cuckmere Haven
Переглядів 237Рік тому
Our first hike of April with Trek/Fit took us on an Epic adventure showcasing some of the most magnificent geography Southern England has to offer. Along the way we visited the famous Long Man of Wilmington, a Neolithic giant hill figure, and the Litlington White Horse. We also traversed the beautiful South Downs chalk ridgeline; visited the sleepy villages of Alfriston and Litlington, Navigat...
Brecon Beacons Hike - Fujifilm X-H2S
Переглядів 961Рік тому
This is a video blog of our hiking across the beautiful Brecon Beacons National Park in Wales. This is part of an LGBTQ hiking group that I’ve been a regular member of. I had a great time using the new Fujifilm X-H2S camera which was very well suited for this type of shooting. I shot everything in 6K open gate to give me flexibility in framing for widescreen and vertical video. I edited and gra...

The Artist - Fujifilm X-H2S Cinematic Short | 4K

This is a cinematic video I did with a friend to test out my new camera - the Fujifilm X-H2S. I shot everything in 6K open gate in F-log2 and used Dehancer in Resolve as the main grading tool. I used the Cinestill 800T as my film profile and the Kodak 2383 Print film profile. I did grade each clip individually to match and balance the whole piece and get the desired look. I'm debating on purcha...

This was an organised hike to Leith Hill in Surrey with the LGBTQ and allied group Trek/Fit. In this video I show the beautiful Autumn colours of The Surrey Hills AONB shot using the new Fujifilm X-H2S and the 18-55mm lens. I tried using something new for the grade - Dehancer Pro using the Kodak Vision3 50D film profile and Kodak 2383 Print Film for the print profile with some tweaks in DaVinci...

Surf's Up - Shot with Fujifilm X-H2S

I shot this video in Bournemouth, UK one morning with the new Fujifilm X-H2S. I used my trusty Fujinon 18-55mm f2.8-4 lens and shot in 6.2K and 4K 50p for the slow motion elements. I shot in a mix of landscape and portrait so I had to heavily crop for a landscape video which is great with how much resolution you have to play with that 6.2K record format. I shot in Flog2 and colour graded in DaV...

London on Lockdown - a Short Film by Boyan Georgiev

The UK has been on lockdown due to the global pandemic for two months now. The whole nation is eagerly awaiting the Prime Minister's address on the evening of 10th May to hear what are the next steps forward. This is my observation of the lockdown in a global capital like London. Eerily quiet and empty where only months ago there was so much life and excitement. The world felt like it was going...
So good such of cool shots cinematic
amazing! perfect!
What an incredible video! the XH2S is practically a cinema camera. The colors are incredible, the sharpness, the audio, everything is perfect. I have an XS20 that does something very close to the XH2S, I'm going to start doing some cinematic takes to test. Your video was inspiring to me. Congratulations.
Thank you! Happy to hear your thoughts on this. Yes we do have some amazing cameras available to us. Happy filming!
Insane shots! Subbed! Also the music is fitting 🤣
Great video! Would it be possible to know which lenses were used and did the actor have any make up and if so which kind.
Hi, curious what lenses and filters were used in this fantastic short.
Nice coloring, bro. It looks very cinematic. Good job!
Great video love the colors!
Thank you! Cheers!
How do you use that track ? It ain't copyright free ain't it ?
This particular track is allowed to be used by the content owner and no copyright strikes are issued.
this is the best New York montage ive ever seen , great job
Thank you for the kind words, it means a lot!
Out of thousands of New York edits on UA-cam, this is the best one
Oh thanks so much for that!
Amazing work. Keep it up.
Thanks, will do!
Really good man, well done ! Did you shoot in ProRes and did you use any filter with your 16-55?
Thanks! No I generally don't shoot in prores, mostly h265 with the highest bit depth and in open gate 6k. I only used an ND filter with the lens.
Great video!
Thank you, happy you found it useful!
Absolutely insane, that gave me goosebumps! Loves this show so much and you did such a great hommage, good job.
Oh thank you so much for the kind words! Glad you liked it, such a good show and score by the composer!
This is great 🤌
Glad you enjoyed it!
awesome!
Glad you liked it!
Great work man ! I currently use the Xt4 and thinking of getting a Xh2S! Love the grade on this too!
Thanks! Both great cameras!
Gray work! I was just in NYC last week with my xh2s 👍🏻
Thanks! It’s a wild place to be! Hope to go back this year.
nice grading and feel the shoots :)
Thanks Chris!
Hey, i'm looking at this, thinking about getting that Dehancer. Does it help to alleviate noise? I have a noise problem when I shoot with my xh2s on F Log 2. It just produces so much noise in post edit. Ive tried so many things but it's just so noisy and I haven't found out how to make shots milky smooth in post. I shoot with a 16-55mm on my xh2s
Dehancer wouldn't necessarily help alleviate noise issues, you can add grain on top that looks quite good but it doesn't seem you desire any of that. I shoot in Flog 2 as well for my videos and haven't been concerned with noise issues. Are exposing the image well? Log footage should be shot a stop or two over so you expose the image well so make sure you're not underexposing, and also check your ISO if you shoot at higher ISOs you are essentially underexposing the image and producing more noise. Also look into the resolve denoising features, they are quite powerful at cleaning up noise but they are also quite resource intensive so your exports will take much longer. Hope this helps.
@@boyangeorgiev Thanks for the reply! Last week I finally figured out what was wrong; extremely underexposed shots. I fixed it by using the zebras. I for sure need to still work on color grading though!
the man is gorgeous .
thank you!
Does dehancer work with the free version of Davinci?
I'm not sure, you should look up wether OpenFX plugins can be installed on non-Studio version.
Bro, i like the shots, looks like hard honest work behind the scenes. Good job. Just one point, if u really mean the quote, take a look at great filmmakers .. id suggest kim ki duk, kar wai, hirokazu koreda or Malick for the way they express... In film school im sure teacher would ask… what is the story here, who is he, what he wants and needs, .. where is dramatic arch… where we start and what we reach….montage wise.. why so many repetitive shots.. why is it just repetition from another angel…details and more details would help.. there is more and potential is great… keep it up, just wanted to encourage to look at it with new optics…
Thanks. I had no plan with this, just me and my friend having fun with our cameras. I was looking to make a masterpiece. What you see is what you get on this one.
Благодаря, чудесно видео и чудесни обяснения! Прекрасни цветове!
Благодаря!
Looks great. Up there with Black Magic 6k
thank you!
Ugh. So damn good, and truly inspiring. I’ve just ordered an XH2-S, thank you.
Thank you! Happy filming!
it was so beautiful I had to sub! Thank you
Thanks for subbing!
🔥🔥🔥👏 Beautiful Video.
Thank you very much!
Hello
Amazing.. what aspect ratio is this video?
Thank you! This is in 2:1
Can this be achieved with the free version of DaVinci Resolve? or would I have to pay for the full version?
I think to install OFX plugins yes you need Studio but also if you want to grade yourself you can do a lot in the free version.
Did you shoot handheld?
Yes only handheld!
@@boyangeorgiev fantastico 😍
one of the most brilliant displays how the 18-55 is such an incredible lens. i was considering selling mine for the Sigma 18-50, but really, why? ✨
Thank you! yes its really a great lens, my daily driver for years now!
Oh my god, this is really great. Shots, color grading everything
thank you for your kind words!
How many megapixels does this Fuji camera have
hey, its 26mp!
This is the ONLY filmic video that I watched on youtube about x2hs. Now I get the potential of this camera. So thank you very much for shooting and grading this video, instead of shooting only flowers or standing people like many other test videos contain... :))
aww thank you for the kind words. I'm happy you found value in this!
@@boyangeorgiev Couldn't agree more. I think you've done a good job softening the look of the sensor, and getting the colours to pop in at natural way! Would like to see more videos where you break down your grading workflow in davinci with the xh2s, as you did with this one:)
what a repulsive man!!
Great video! I was about to use someone else's code to buy Dehancer but you provided so much value I'll be using yours instead. I typically don't watch long tutorials like this but you dropped so much knowledge, I was hooked the whole time. Subscribed!
Oh wow thank you Jer, thank you so much. I am happy you found value in this, Enjoy working with Dehancer!
great vid! Love color grading. What gimbal did you use to achieve stabilisation?
Hey thank you! I didn't use a gimball. The camera and lens have OIS so I only relied on that.
And stabilized in davinci since had some space left from 6.2k?
What a brilliant, fun project. I love the quote at the end too. Amazing what that 18-55 kit lens can do - a massively underrated lens!
Thank you! Yes its a great little lens isn't it!
XH2 is a beast, great video btw
It really is!
I love that this is a 'cinematic short' that actually tells a story and isn't just a bunch of random shots in slomo
Thank you! Yeah could be quite easy to go for the slo-mo and I haven't really touched the slo-mo functionality much.
One word: WOW! 👍👍
Awww thank you !
Thank you for sharing this. What percentage bloom do you use?
I still can't understand why in this short film all the people and the main character move almost like in a movie, but in Hike to Leith Hill they move as if it were filmed on a video camera. Did you used 1/50 shutterspeed and ND filter?
I filmed this with more intention than I would do during a hike where I can't really stop and do takes of shots.
Brilliant. Just brilliant.
Thank you!
Beautifully captured and colorgraded. I have a technical question because I'm thinking to get an X-H2S. I noticed some artefacts during this video especially at the background. It looks like there are some moving pixels? Is it denoise artefacts or just YT compression? Do this things appear on the video before you upload on the YT?
Thanks! Not sure what artefacts you're describing. It's probably the UA-cam compression. I can't fault the camera's video capabilities for the price point especially.
