I know it's been a few years since they filmed the first season, but the makeup team should have done a better job to match helena's hair, hair color, and eyebrows from the first season

Theres another giveaway, she's the only one that turns the other way when being scanned by the security guy. She's scanned on the back, while the others are scanned from the front. Small detail but Im sure it points to something.

I don't understand why people say "they're trying to throw us off", when the show has never done this before. I don't think the creators are in the game of red herrings, or giving us false information. Sometimes we get lots of clues (e.g. that Gabby was severed), sometimes we get barely any (e.g. info about Cobelvig), but they never contradict themselves for the sake of tricking the audience. Thats what I love about this show, they respect us as viewers.

It's HELL-en-uh, not hell-LEN-uh or hell-LAIN-uh. And here's the thing with this controversy: The writers CLEARLY want us to know that Helena isn't severed but only pretending to be. That's patently obvious. Nobody is "clever" or some kind of "super fan" for figuring this out. It's right there. But these writers aren't dumb. If they wanted the non-severed Helena to be the big reveal, they wouldn't have given it away so clearly. I think they're suckering us all into a sense of security about how clever we are, then they're gonna hit us upside the head with the REAL reveal later in the season. I have some ideas but there's little evidence for any of them yet. At the top of the fairly obvious list is that the Board believes that's Helly R, but Helena has her own objectives. That is, Helena's decision to go in non-severed isn't part of the plan by the Board to "give Mark S. everything he wants", but rather she came up with it on her own. There are other possibilities but few that have evidence behind them.

Helena knew the risk of going back as Helly. Helly would spill the beans about who she is and who her father is. This would ruin the chances of Mark finishing the Cold Harbor file, which is why he got his team back. It’s not that difficult to figure all of this out. Helena is the insurance policy that Cold Harbor gets finished.

I think a key sign is she was touching her neck after she woke up at the event. Since her inne is so destructive and almost killed her, she is not going to put herself in that situation again.

I actually think it's Helly R. still. The show really wants us to believe it's Helen, which is why I'm leaning against it. I think her bell didn't ding right away because she wasn't sent to the severed floor first. When the gang meets, Dylan comes right after Mark, and Irving right after Dylan. Helly is staggered a bit more, even though in this scene shown in the clip... she's arriving precisely in the staggered intervals they often do, one after the other, no delays. So I still think it's Helly R. But she's been put through different paces than the rest, also who knows how Lumon could've toyed with her chip and her innie's memory? I still think it's our favorite rebellious innie, and I wonder what she's gone through in the mean time. I think the video Helen made that seemed like a press release... was for Helly. I also think Helen is scared of Helly R. I love this show lol.

The awkward/reluctant hug she gave Mark was enough for me to think something was different and that's it was likely Helena.

This show has gone out of its way to make it crystal clear that Helena is a stone cold sociopath with zero empathy. She is not going to turn against the family

The biggest reason why It's Helena and not Helly is because that would make for a much more compelling story. The creators of Severance have proven to be amazing a crafting this story and not making it Helena would be a dumb move and very out of character for them. I do see Helena, maybe, a little jealous or excited by Helly being in love. Like there's a part of her that is in a loving relationship, experiencing the happiness that she never could outside as Helena.

I think they are teasing us and it is Helly. Helena would have had a good lie ready. Helly is embarrassed and told a stupid lie.

Observations: “What’s for dinner, kids?” is Irv’s quip when he arrives at work. It’s an office in-joke Dylan is openly sick of, that Petey thought Mark might recognize. Like a dad joke that’s just something dad says. It’s “funny” because there is no dinner on the severed floor, they all go home for dinner. So there’s literally no answer to Irv’s question, which is what annoys Dylan. But does Irving say that after Helly arrives on the floor?

Just look at her face the moment the light in the break room came on. "Yeah, wow guys, this is weird, isn't it?" It looks almost comical. By the way, perhaps she didn’t come up with anything better than nonsense about the gardener at night, because she didn’t expect that she wouldn’t be switched in the elevator. And yeah, Dylan didn't take off his watch either, so it's probably not that big of a deal.

Not only was there no ding, there was also no electrical noise that usually accompanies the chip turning on. In the other three cases, this noise can be heard, although very quietly due to the view outside the elevator.

I hope that's not the case. If it is, it's almost like they killed off a main character in the first episode. I'd like to think she was being sincere in her disdain for outies. Her lying about her experience and making such an emphatic distinction between innies and outies would be 100% in character for someone who went through what she did. I think it would be an intersting enough arc to have Helly trying to keep her outie's identity secret.
