Hazard Reduction Burns

Hazard reduction burns are used to remove dry grass and vegetation from around communities. Dry grass is an extremely flammable fuel and removing it helps protect communities from future wildfires. Over 1,000 hectares of land have been proactively burned in the in the Forest Protection Area of Alberta so far this year.
